“Something is wrong…” Teryl mutters, hearing the manor come to life.
He quickly doffs his weapons behind some small brush in an attempt to appear more civilian. “I’ll come back for you.” Teryl whispers to his equipment, before crouching low and moving fast towards where he had heard the guard yell.
Tana remains still for a moment, unsure if she should move from her position or not. She did not want to get caught, but leading them back to the party may not be a good idea as well. As the voices continue to approach, Tana makes a split-second decision to try and dart back into the shadows, taking the long way back around the manor towards where the party had split off from.
(Stealth: 6)
As Tana darts off into the trees to skirt around the manor she hears the door on the opposite side thrust open and the sound of people squelching through the mud. Suddenly the shapes of four heavily armed men appeared around the corner.
Voices drift back across the courtyard, " You scared her off...your ugly mug tends to do that."
As she retreated through the trees she stepped on a branch which broke with a loud crack and heads turned in her direction, " Wait whats that? Headed into the trees? Is that her?"
" Could be the village bogie they're so frightened about....maybe thats what you saw?", said one of the men slightly worried.
At this point Teryl came around the corner but at the last minute was able to throw himself aside and into the shadow of a patch of gorse, for a moment he is certain he is spotted but no one seems to note him.
" Nah, the spooks dressed in white and supposed to be a queen, this was just some village girl, I'm sure."
" Bah, its too wet to be traipsing about. Lets head back in."
The men turn and begin heading back towards the door...
When Valor has a free moment, Hotspur will approach and say quietly, "I am revising my earlier recommendation. I think we need to rescue Olvar first. We will need his help in rallying the people to rise up against Le Cloche."

"I agree. Let's go talk to Lady Angela, and see what she can tell us before we rush off to this White House."
Valor will collect the rest of the party who's not scouting and make way for the cook's house.
Valor, Hotspur, Mother Clay, Mizzen, Yessenia and Morseth duck out of the inn and into the rain heading toward the river in the darkness....
"Something's not right with this place." Mizzen replies as he readies his trident yet again under the pouring rain. "What if Tana, Agile Argyle and Teryl get into something serious? How would they resolve the matter themselves? Or are they confident enough that they will succeed in whatever they're doing right now?"

Valor, Hotspur, Mother Clay, Mizzen, Yessenia and Morseth duck out of the inn and into the rain heading toward the river in the darkness....
Hotspur notes that the old woman is getting drenched, and with a sigh, removes his cloak, draping it over her head and shoulders. "We can't let an old raisin like you soak up all the water,"he says, "We wouldn't be able to fit you through the door."

The group soon comes to the door of a low cottage with a mill wheel, clogged with weeds on the river bank. There is firelight from within, visible under the door.
Morseth knocks on the door "Hello, is anyone home"
The door cracks open slightly and a fierce looking older woman clutching a boning knife fixes Morseth with a glare.
" Who are you? What do you want?"
Valor steps forward, palms out, so he can be clearly seen by the woman. "I am Syr Valor Dayne, here to see my cousin the Lady Angela. Would you please let us in, I would prefer Mother Clay to get out of the rain as soon as possible."

Valor steps forward, palms out, so he can be clearly seen by the woman. "I am Syr Valor Dayne, here to see my cousin the Lady Angela. Would you please let us in, I would prefer Mother Clay to get out of the rain as soon as possible."
The woman seems disbelieving and is about to slam the door closed when a tired sounding voice calls from inside, " Dayne? Let him in Gayble, it is my cousin."
The woman does not relinquish her grip on the knife but holds the door wider for the others to enter.
Upon entering you see a very tired and distraught looking Lady Angela sitting in a rocking chair beside the fire, wrapped in a blanket. A cot at her feet holds her sleeping child.
"Now then, this is the reason we brought you all this way," clucks Hotspur to Mother Clay, as he removes his wet cloak from her shoulders. "Go make yourself useful and help the wee babe."
Argyle put a hand on Thatch's shoulder. "There's Tana and Teryl. I don't think they know the others headed out. We should let them know so we can all join them."
Quickly and cautiously crossing the square, the bondsman intercepted Tana. "The others are headed over there to where Lady Angela is," he pointed. "We're supposed to be joining them."
"Now then, this is the reason we brought you all this way," clucks Hotspur to Mother Clay, as he removes his wet cloak from her shoulders. "Go make yourself useful and help the wee babe."
Mother Clay bustled her way inside complaining about the rain and pushy young men with no respect for their elders, she approached the cot with a glance towards Lady Angela who nodded slightly.
As Mother Clay lifted the child from the cot her breath caught in her throat and she glanced at Sir Dayne with a concerned expression, everyone could see how very pale the child was, with blue lips though her tiny chest still rose and fell shallowly.

The four of them made their way to the mill cottage, managing to slip inside just before the door closed.

"Is the babe okay?" asked Valor softly, so as not to wake the child. He gave a meaningful look to Morseth to be ready to help Mother Clay if she needed it.

Lady Angela rested her head in her hands, " By morning The White Lady will have both my husband and my daughter...."

Valor remembered the vow he had taken as a knight, and his father's orders to him, and nodded in determination. He turned and considered his companions. "I will not order any to follow me. If any wish to stay here with the Lady, I will not judge. But any who join me I will consider my friends and companions ever after. For those who choose to stay, if we do not return by morning, escort the Lady back to my father, and he will see justice done to Le Cloche." He turns back and knelt before his cousin, taking her hands in his own, "My Lady cousin, I swear on my oath as a knight, and my father's name, that if by my life or death I can save your husband and your daughter, it will be done. I will find Sir Olvar and join him in stopping this White Queen. No more innocent lives will she have, if it be in my power to stop it. I ask only your blessing, and I will be off."

Teryl holds his breath, waiting for the men to be fully inside before moving to the tree line.

”Tana? Argyle? are you there?” Teryl says in a hushed tone, darting from tree to tree.
"Something's not right with this place." Mizzen replies as he readies his trident yet again under the pouring rain. "What if Tana, Agile Argyle and Teryl get into something serious? Argyle is nowhere to be seen, but he knows where Tana went from the direction the men looked in....
Hotspur notes that the old woman is getting drenched, and with a sigh, removes his cloak, draping it over her head and shoulders. "We can't let an old raisin like you soak up all the water," he says, "We wouldn't be able to fit you through the door."
Valor, Hotspur, Mother Clay, Mizzen, Yessenia and Morseth continue down toward the river and mill cottage.
Argyle and Thatch are at the tavern and can easily catch up with them.
Teryl and Tana are circling around the manor and will be back at the square in a few minutes.
Wiping his brow with his sleeve, Teryl walks alongside Tana.
Are you okay Tana? Sounded... close there for a second. Argyle and Thatch went ahead, I dropped my gear near the entrance."
The group soon comes to the door of a low cottage with a mill wheel, clogged with weeds on the river bank. There is firelight from within, visible under the door.
Morseth knocks on the door "Hello, is anyone home"

"Yes, I believe so." She glances around wearily as they exit the forest. "We should try to catch up, wouldn't want to stray too far from the group."
She picks up her pace towards the square, looking behind her at the manor every so often.
