Hotspur moves away from the podium and works his way over to the chalice and looks inside it. If possible, he will lift his wineskin and try pouring a little into the cup, if he can do it without the reddish liquid being totally scattered by the wind.
( Hotspur is currently pressed up against the southern wall with everyone else. The wind is too strong for him to move forward toward the podium.
However the wind has carried the Chalice to them, if he makes his way out of the entry door he can find a sheltered spot to fill the Chalice. It now contains wine.)
Cainneach gathers himself and finally notices the door at the other end of the room, beyond the podium and the windy visage. Wishing to atone for his faltering courage earlier, he will attempt to press himself against the side wall and push through the tempest to reach that door.

"I knew there was something strange about it. Well at least we have the chalice, maybe it can stop the wind somehow"yells Morseth over the deafening sound of the wind.
Hotspur will take a swallow of wine from the chalice, and wait to see if anything happens. If nothing does, he'll keep drinking... can't waste good wine!

If Dru can follow Hotspur, she will. Seeing him drinking wine, she snatches the cup from him and pours it out, trying to examine the Chalise itself for clues to the test.

Hotspur must be a remarkable drinker as the chalice is already empty by the time she reaches for it, nevertheless the chalice is relatively plain and has no etchings or markings that seem to determine any further purpose......perhaps the 'clue' to this test was in another room....
Morseth nod and activate the heat an cold feature on the wand to see if there is any effect on the chalice.
Out of the wind now Morseth asked the others to put the chalice down and activated the hot end of the wand, there was a sudden rushing sound and a jet of incandescent flame lashed out from the wand washing over the chalice, the entire corridor was thrown into ruddy relief and everyone felt the intense heat on their faces like they were standing too close to a bonfire....and then it was gone.
The stone was blackened and cracked where the flame had hit it and the chalice was a barely recognisable half-melted lump of metal....
In Morseths hand the vibrations of the wand were greatly reduced....
Bretwald was aghast, " For pitys sake be careful where you point that thing!"
" I think its fair to say that that was not it."
" Lets think. What have we found so far here? And what do we know of the Room of Winds? There is a podium, a carved face...did any of you recognise the carving?"
He glanced at the remains of the chalice again, " I hope we didn't need that for something else...."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ye gods, Morseth! First you say we should head for the dragon and then instead you unleash that hellfire!"Cainneach picks up the chalice, or what's left of it, and remarks, "At least it might now be slightly more difficult for the bard to get drunk. I think I'll step back into that wind to cool off." He tosses the chalice to the ground and steps back into the room with the gusty podium. Cainneach stares briefly at the face before the wind causes his eyes to tear up and he averts his gaze. Perhaps he can recall something useful about the stoney visage?

Hotspur says, "Well, there was a tapestry that contained magical warriors, a hidden passage leading to a room with a map in the floor, and a chest with gold coins, plus a bag with braided red hair for a drawstring, a room containing that..." he points to the wand Morseth carries, "...and a cavern with a huge cliff, and a sleeping dragon atop it. And a mysterious disappearing man."

Through sheer strength of will he manages to get about halfway up the room before having to admit defeat.

(I'm sorry I've been really sick for over a week and I'm just finally starting to feel human again)
"Clearly, I don't think it's intended to simply brute force our way forward. Nor does it seem possible. There must be some kind of trick."

The wine is tasty.

Hotspur arches an eyebrow. "If you wanted a sip, all you had to do was ask..."
"I guess we need to face the dragon" yells Morseth. He then struggles to move away from the blowing wind and back to where the dragon is sleeping.

"Before we head back, perhaps try the magic rod? I was never much for riddles, but perhaps it's related here... I admit I'm not sure how."

Cainneach winces as he drops the Chalice again...damn that was still hot....
He is unable to identify the visage, though it seems ancient....
