Alabaster hails from a nomadic tribe called Fulcrum in the far reaches of the mountains. They understood the harsh environment of the mountains, and worshiped the earth below their feet for the bounty it provided them - for ultimately, that is where all life sprang from. They called the earth their Mother, and held rituals in Her honor when the seasons began to turn. Their nomadic wandering followed patterns, matching the migrations of the animals they hunted for food.
Alabaster received his name when he was 16, as it was the tradition of the Fulcrum people, when the children reached maturity and proved themselves, they received their true names and abandoned their childhood nicknames behind. During a hunt, one of his younger sisters got lost. Her unrestrained joy and enthusiasm would eventually give her the name Citrine, but at the time it meant that she wandered off too far during the snail hunting game. Alabaster noticed her missing quick enough, but when he tracked her down he was dismayed to find her cornered by a wolf. Acting before thinking, Alabaster attacked the wolf, wounding it and distracting it long enough for her to get away.
While this was an action worthy of a naming, it was not the name that Alabaster had initially wished for himself. Alabaster was “the drawing stone”, one that pulls things in towards itself. He first thought it a poor omen for his life to come until the tribal leader, Topaz spoke with him. Topaz reflected on his own name, a “strong and purposeful” stone - while this appeared to be a boon for any leader, Topaz admitted that his prudence had at times stayed his hand too long when action was required. This was why the tribe needed an Alabaster, one that would jump to protect children before fearing for their own safety.
Alabaster accepted his name, but still felt shame over his naming. While he did save Citrine, he was unable to fully conquer the beast, merely wound it and drove it off. He redoubled his training efforts, sculpting his muscles to near perfection, and improving his connection with Mother earth. His efforts led to him fighting wild swings, relying more on his brute strength than on any real technique. But he also learned to channel the power of the earth within himself, allowing an eerie focus to overcome him and ground him. He entered a wide stance that firmly rooted him, holding his weapons incredibly still and close to his body only to strike with short, sudden bursts when the moment was right. While in this focused state, each step he took sent tremors through the ground and spewed dirt and dust into the air.
Eventually, Alabaster decided to leave the mountains to further refine his skills. He felt he still needed to prove himself worthy of the name, to protect other people as he did Citrine.
Appearance:
The human stands 6’2, with broad shoulders and athletic build. When he steps into the inn, it is easy to draw other patrons’ eyes. He wears a thick and dense fur coat draped over him like wearing a shadow, made his broad shoulders broader. The coat left the front of his well-toned body uncovered, showing sculpted chest and abs. Twin battleaxes trapped to his back, he pulls a chair and sits down across from the lanky half-orc, and pushes the flyer towards him. Contrary to his feral physique, his face is fair and handsome; deep eyes with a captivating brown color; the soft arch of eyebrows, straight nose. All, expect for the sharp eyes that reveal the undercurrent of untamable ferality, and when he opens his mouth, you could catch glimpse of the white flash of his filed canines, sharp to a point. “I heard you’re looking for some help.”
Will be closing recruitment soon as there's plenty of good applications, kinda feel guilty about all the good backstories and such for a one-shot.
I know! And some of the descriptions of characters are *chef kiss* I wouldn't sweat it though people on here are insanely considerate and forgiving and probably understand the exact struggle you're currently dealing with. You're doin' great though :)
Yes I am trying to butter you up, but mainly because my guy's just big dude with large sword and I'm kinda jealous of the effort other applicants put in
Dobin Janson Half-Elf Ranger with Outlander background.
He has been on the frontier for a number of years protecting the king’s forests, but has grown tired from the hypocrisy and is taking up adventuring. This posting could not have come at a better time.
Backstory: Arvastan comes from a secluded island. He grew up a humble fisherman. As one of the stronger members of his tribe he was tasked with keeping the island safe. As time went on he began to venture further from the island. On one fateful voyage he encountered a terrible storm. Safe beneath the waves, he watched the churning sea. A ship came into view. Suddenly a figure plunged into the water. Arvastan swam up and pulled the unconscious figure back up to the boat. In the lantern light he found the person he'd rescued was a handsome young man with dark hair and stunning green eyes. Arvastan was immediately smitten. The young man, Vendrik, quickly warmed to the sea elf. The two of them voyaged together back to Arvastan's island to wait out the storm. It quickly became clear the two of them were mad about each other, and for some time they traveled together. But Vendrik could not fully reciprocate Arvastan's love. In his youth he had pledged his body to a dreadful pirate known as Mako, and could only be free if he paid Mako with an incredibly valuable treasure. Arvastan pledged to scour the seas until he found enough treasure to free his beloved.

Maybe, but I prefer campaigns start from level 1.
And there's enough people to just do two separate one-shots. Just waiting on some dms then will announce parties
Dobin's Ability scores: 16 15 16 16 12 15
D&D since 1984
Will be contacting the accepted individuals in a while but glad to announce that there will be two parties.
Sea Wolves
Tidal Bears
As such there will be two separate forums for them.
Slight mishap but will correct in a moment
Great! We're off and running!
