"Creel also had these keys." Stone pulls all of Creel's keys out and drops them loudly on the masked man's desk. "Perhaps Creel just enjoyed collecting keys and thought your key would be a fine addition to his collection."
Stone looks piercingly into the mask's eyes. "Or maybe something more sinister is going on.Perhaps one day we will learn what this is really all about. We will learn what is motivating you, who you are under that mask, and who you are colluding with. Clearly you are going to continue to obfuscate and obstruct our inquiries for the foreseeable future. You obviously have your secrets that you don't want to share. Maybe you never will share them and they will remain secret." Stone shakes his head slightly.
Stone leans back a bit and relaxes his tone. "In the meantime, your gold seems good, you provided a cleric for Natasha, and you seem to have great resources at your disposal. What will you offer us to continue on this mission for you and retrieve your artifact?"
“I’mglad you can see the good in this situation, Mr. Nads. If you retrieve this artifact for me, I will reward you 250 gp each, plus I have a special magic item for each of you. In addition, I might have some more work for you, if any of you are interested.”
“Are you in? If so, I’ll brief you on what you need to know for your mission. If not, then this is where we part ways. That would be a shame, I have grown to like you all.”
Stone responds, "I'm in, but only on the additional conditions that you provide us with room and board when possible, that the cleric heals us of any remaining wounds before we leave here and that anything we find besides the artifact belongs to us and you have no claim to anything besides the artifact."
Stone motions to his companions, "But I can not speak for my companions. They may have their own terms."
"I'm willing to stay on and see where this goes. This will make a very interesting story to write back to my uncle." Penelope nods and begins chomping down on her food.
The Benefactor claps his hands together and smiles. “Now that that’s settled, let’s get down to business. North of us is a large stone structure known as the Hall of Everforge. The Hall was once the home of a clan of dwarves named Everforge, believe it or not. This clan once held a place of honor and prestige, their weaponsmiths were unrivaled. They welcomed all visitors to their ancestral halls, but none were allowed into the Great Forge, which was magically linked to the Elemental Plane of Fire.
“Decades ago, efreet found the bridge between worlds. The fire creatures sprang from the Great Forge and slaughtered the Everforge clan, burning their bones to ashes. The last survivor was Polla Everforge, the matriarch of the family. Skilled in elemental magic, she severed the link to the Plane of Fire and dismissed the rampaging efreet before succumbing to her injuries. The damage, however, had been done. Ruined, the Great Forge was closed, and to prevent looting, sealed with the Key of Zahnaria.” He points to the key Penelope is holding.
“Among the items and objects left behind in that room is an artifact locked in a chest. I want you to retrieve this chest. It will have the following symbol carved on it.” He snaps his fingers and Tial presents you with a piece of parchment with a drawing on it.
“Once you obtain the chest, I will meet you in Valtoria, the capital city of Lon. Your map will show you the way.” You pull out the map you were given by Captain Scarfang. Before your eyes the map begins to change and previously blank portions of the map fill themselves in.
You now see the location of the Hall of Everforge, the road from Sala to Valtoria, and the forests west of Sala.
“Now I don’t expect anyone else to be in the Hall of Everforge or even aware of the chest you are searching for, but after the events of the last few days, I have no idea what you should expect.” He shrugs his shoulders, “Expect the unexpected, I guess.”
“You can all start tomorrow morning, and I recommend hitting the marketplace before leaving town. Tial will be on hand to answer any questions you have.”
With that, he dismisses the party and you all return to your rooms for some much needed sleep.
You all take a long rest.
💥You are all Level 3.💥
You all awake the next day feeling well rested, and thankfully no one has a stillborn clone sharing their bed. What do you want to do?
(Natasha wakes up, refreshed after a good nights sleep. She gets ready and waits for her companions, eager to hit the marketplace and looking over her own supplies. She takes out one of the darts she's used (OOC: I think I have 2 left, can you confirm?) and says to herself:
"These have come in very handy. I hope I can get a few more in the marketplace."
She then puts everything away and waits for everyone else to prepare.)
Penelope: Before going to bed, you thoroughly examine all the items you retrieved from Creel’s nest. Unfortunately, none of them have any magical properties.
Stone orders a breakfast meal to his room including hash browns, eggs, sausages and bacon and charges the meal to the Benefactor. He takes out his sword and cares for it for a few minutes then examines his armor and shield. When satisfied that everything is in order, Stone dons his equipment and heads down to the lobby to meet with his companions. Seeing Natasha, his mouth jerks in a near smile.
"Good morning Natasha. You look stronger than you did yesterday, more vital. It suits you."
OOC: Will take time to update you on the lvl3 choices made tonight if possible.
Jacob wakes groggily, gathers himself through creaks and pops and joins Stone for breakfast, greeting the others as they arrive with short, but cordial, monosyllables.

Penelope passes back the earrings and anything else giving to her for study to the party.
