The four of you, Bart, Cariadne, Liadyllea, and Jenniwyn head over to the Undermayor's home. There you are met by a tall attractive woman a few years younger than the Undermayor. In a melodious voice she says, "My husband said he might send over some adventurers investigating our daughter's disappearance, I suppose that is you all. Jenniwyn, you, I know, please show the others where to look, the house is open."
Jenniwyn suggests starting in Aleena's bedroom, and leads you all in there.

"Jenniwynn? What can you tell us about the young girl now that her father's not in earshot. Not implying anything improper, just saying... Everybody has a face they present their parents and then a face for the world. Anything might help find her."
Jenniwyn replies to Bart, "Keeping in mind I haven't really been involved for almost 5 years, she was headstrong and liked keeping secrets, especially from her parents. I never tolerated that so she kinda didn't like me that much, though she's friendly enough now."
Cariadne finds a loose floorboard under the bed. She opens it to reveal a journal and a locked chest about 6 inches on a side. The lock is really flimsy and would take almost no effort to break, or be insanely easy to pick.

"Her parents seem to think you know her well. Why is that, if she hasn't talked to you much in several years?" Bart's getting that itchy suspicionkke with the tricky priest thief.
Liadyllea observes the group silently as they move about the room. Seeing Cariadne thoroughly searching the room, she decides instead to see if she can see any indications of a scuffle or an escape route if the daughter left voluntarily. She keeps an ear out to the conversation happening as she scans the room.
Perception or Survival (same modifier): 17 plus Guidance 2
The little chest contains a moderately large shed snakeskin.
To Bart, Jenniwyn says "She stopped needing babysitting and I wasn't looking to hang out with a kid 5 years younger than me."
Liadyllea, you recall the undermayor saying she disappeared from a clearing in the woods she was spending time in with her friends, she definitely left this room voluntarily. That aside, you do find a hidden rope ladder near a window with clear scratches where the ladder was used to exit from this second-story room.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cariadne picks up the snakeskin between one finger and thumb, then puts it back in the chest. Does the snakeskin look recently shed, or old? (Nature or Perception are both the same modifier: 13 )
She raises an eyebrow at the others. "Time to read the journal! Let's skip to the end..."mutters Cariadne as she opens the book towards the back.

Cariadne pockets the journal for the moment and "accidentally" breaks the lock on the little chest.

Bart, while your circumstances make you naturally suspicious, Jenniwyn does not seem to be lying or holding back information.
