Branmar enters the dining area just in time to see his group standing to leave. With a longing look towards the kitchen, he pulls a bit of one of his ration from his bag to munch on.
Turning to follow the others outside and noticing Dhara cast her defensive spell, Branmar touches the center of his armor's chest to activate its Defensive Field. Closing the distance quickly he says, "Sorry I'm late. Where we off to?"
"Evidently the other group could be causing some trouble over at The Hanged Nail Saloon, could cause some trouble with the rest of the expedition so we are going over to try and settle them down. You coming with?" Eb responds, then seeing Branmar eating a ration he adds, "When we get back, I'll make sure you get an actual meal."
The group at the table heads off for the Hanged Nail to retrieve their comrades. By the time you arrive up the street, it seems that a fight is already underway. Several windows show signs of having been recently broken, with fresh glass shared glittering in the warm lamplight from within. The sounds of blows, heavy and percussive, are clearly audible as you approach, as well as a few gruff shouts.
Dhara grits her teeth as she sees that they might already be too late to stop a major incident.
"Well this just ain't going to do,"she mutters. "I'll just go ahead and hop in between our esteemed companions and the constables to see if I can't get 'em to stop an' think... don't worry yourselves too much if ya'll see them take a swing at me, it'll hurt 'em a lot more 'an it hurts me."
Dhara proceeds into the bar to see if she can break up the fight.
Raven lets out a quiet giggle, but surprisingly says nothing. Instead she dashes after Dhara and sidles up to the broken window and looks inside rather than entering behind the dwarf.
Seeing commotion being caused by the second group, Eb throws up his hand and sighs at the sheer stupidity of the other group. Looking through the same broken window that Raven is at, he mumbles to himself, "Let's see what happens if we drop a little more chaos on the situation." and casts darkness on the interior of the tavern. With the lights out Eb calls though the window, "Get out of there you idiots!"
Dhara enters by the front, Raven approaches a window with Eb at her heels. For a split second, you behold the scene in perfect detail.
Three heavily inebriated dwarves, some of your comrades, stand in a defensive huddle in the middle of the room gripping improvised weapons - a barstool, a shattered mug and the leg of a sturdy chair. They are surrounded by six human ruffians in unkempt miner's garb, several them holding knives that flash in the lamplight. On the ground in front of the dwarves, two armored and uniformed town watchmen are sprawled out on the ground, unconscious.
Then the scene goes black, Eb's spell immediately suffocating every source of light in the area and rendering it pitch black even to those with darkvision. We'll say the spell is powerful enough to cover the entire room.
Raven turns from the pitch black room and looks at Eb with wide eyes. Surprise clear on her face. "You do have a bit of chaos in you! hehe."She giggles and claps her hands. "Oooo this is so much fun!" Still giggling, she turns back to the window, takes a deep breath then starts yelling at the other dwarven team. "Hay you big fat dwarves! Looks like you got yourselves into some trouble! The boss isn't going to be happy! Maybe you should get out quick! You could try to follow my voice if you want! There's a nice big open window over here. Or not. Those ugly humans might decide to do the same thing, so it might be better to try to find the door! But that's your decision! Try not to trip on any bodies! Come on now! Hurry up before more trouble comes! We don't want to have to deal with it! Hehehe!" She continues yelling at the window until something exciting happens....
Dhara gasps in surprise as the darkness settles over her (and everyone else in the room). But she keeps her head about her... she needs to get those three dwarves out of here before they can make a mess. She cautiously approaches where she saw the three dwarves.
"You three! Kinfolk!"she says quietly as she gets pretty close to where she thought they were. "I'm here to get ya'll out before things get any worse. Just follow my voice an' we can try an make it out of here before things really go south! Last thing we need is for you boys to get in a fight with the constables!"
Dhara will also be cast Blade Ward just in case these drunken idiots or the guys they've picked a fight with take a swing at her.
"Out back, they dragged 'im! We've got to grab him back!"
Hurried scuffling and not a few curses punctuate the dark space as the tavern's former occupants spill out into the street. A brief glance lets all who stay outside know that the three dwarves, your coworkers, have not exited the room. Dhara moves in (Give me an Investigation Check as you feel your way into the room!)
Smile on his face, a bit of a wicked twinkle in his eye, Eb starts making his was to the back of the building. Just before he rounds the corner to backside of the establishment he drops concentration on the darkness spell and readies himself for any possible trouble.
Giggling loudly Raven follows Eb around the building. Based off her first impression of him, she had not expected him to have such a mischievous side. Oh how pleasantly surprised she is now that he's shown it. What else does this dwarf have up his sleeve? Surely nothing as chaotic as she does but still, she must know. Just in case something gets out of hand, she also prepares herself for anything, still giggling as she does so.
Staff in hand Austrig grumbles as he gives effervescent Gnome a disparaging look. "Well, no one ever looked askance at someone helping someone. Lets go."

I guess this campaign is now dead. 🪦
Perhaps. Though that is very sad, I was enjoying this game.
