(Oh ok, so we are past the sign now. lol. Thank's for clearing that up.)
She smiles sweetly at Dhara when the dwarf comes over, "Oh of course! I simply wanted you to bring it down here!"She glances at the floating images, squinting a bit as she does so, and taking note of the small ore deposits.
When Eb speaks, she turns her smile on him. "That would be terrible wouldn't it. Might I suggest a different approach?" She point's at the ore the scanner is showing. "How deep is this? I may be able to get to it." She smile broadens as she giggles, "Without, drilling."
Raven's smile never breaks, though the light in her eyes do flicker slightly. Were they ganging up on her? Why? Did she do something wrong? All she wanted was to get started, so why were they all talking to her like that? It's not like she doesn't think safety is important. That's not what she meant at all. She was only stating that in some situations, there are no safe options. Well, if they don't understand her than that's their own faults. This teamwork thing is a lot harder than she expected. On her own she would have sped through here a long time ago...though, maybe she would have missed what she was supposed to be doing. Hmmm, she'll have to get used to this. Maybe it was a good thing she hadn't been put in charge...
She clasps her hands behind her back, waiting for an answer to her question. If her idea works, she'll be able to show them all just how useful she is. After all, her way has less of a tendency to cause cave-ins than simply hammering or drilling into the mountain.
Hearing form Austrig about the pillar, Eb calls back and asks, "Do you think we'll be alright digging away from the pillar?" He looks to Raven, a half smile on his face and says, "I would be interesting in seeing what you have in mind Raven, but let's make sure disturbing the surrounding area won't have any repercussions."
Thondor stomps along with the group into the circular room. The large heavy drill resting not-so-comfortably on his shoulders with one hand steadying the awkward device while the other hand grasps his maul. He glances briefly at the warning sign before pausing for a moment to inspect the pillar and the ceiling above. “Hrumph, amateurs,” he grunts before continuing to trudge along, trying to keep up with the over-enthusiastic gnome.
(I’m assuming the drill thingy is heavy. Does it slow him down at all?)
Dhara is rather curious what Raven has in mind... so, that's exactly what she says.
"Well love, what have you got in mind?" the dwarf woman asks Raven curiously. "As I've said more than once, mining isn't my area of expertise, but it looks like I'm going to have to learn pretty quick with this job."
"Well."She starts, looking quite pleased that someone actually asked what she had in mind. "Depending on where the ore is, I may be able to move the earth and stone on top of it through the use of magic." She moves to one wall that is a good distance away from the precarious pillar and holds a hand over the floor. "Like this." Casting Mold earth, She makes a scooping gesture with her hand and the ground beneath her it suddenly takes on an almost liquid state, and bubbles out of the ground to position itself into a neat pile a few feet next to it. "No digging, and No unnecessary vibrations that could cause this cave to fall on us."
(PS: This is my first time playing a Druid, and I misread the fact that Mold Earth is only supposed to be able to excavate loose earth/stones. Lol I just saw that it can affect both earth and stone so assumed each of the attributes can do that. Whoops. So we'll see how useful this actually is. Unless the DM rules differently in this Campaign-or this area isn't solid stone- her idea probably won't work here...but i'm going to go with it anyways. Lol She's used to excavating artifacts which-aren't always encased in stone...so it kinda makes sense if she thinks she can use this whenever.)
Dhara is rather impressed by the idea... though, as Dhara is not a druid, she has no idea if the gnome's spell could do what Raven thinks it could or not.
"Well, I'm not opposed to seeing if your idea works out," the Dhara says. "And even if it doesn't, I don't see any harm in giving it a try since we can still go in with the drill after if we have to. Do any of you gentlemen object?"
As the team enters into the circular room, a subtle vibration begins to rattle the floor alarmingly. Several vents in the ceiling, concealed by a larger stalactites in a far corner, begin oozing a grey-brown paste similar to the traces you all have noticed earlier in the cave! With an audible snap, the central pillar, recently evacuated by Austrig, tumbles to the floor, releasing a quick-flowing tide of the substance. It fills the room up to about shoulder-height for a dwarf (easily neck height for a gnome!) before hardening in what seems like a few seconds. Some of you are able to take a few desparate strides towards the far door, but most of you end up separated by about five feet from your nearest teammate. Thondor still has the drill, and Dhara the Scanner!
After a minute, during which time the plaster hardens to a degree, you hear a voice echo up from the exit door, still across the chamber from you. It takes on a chanting, sing-song tone. A little juvenile, perhaps, but sung with gusto and without ill-will.
Oh ho! Oh ho! A miner's friend and sometimes foe!

A miner's friend and sometimes foe!

Kasian Armistus :
- Does the pillar go all the way to the ceiling, such as a support?
That is correct!
- Is there anything else obvious about the chamber?
Just a few stalactites on the ceiling! It seems logical that this is going to be a test of your new equipment, however!
Only more of the same substance noted around the doors - some kind of applied sealant like a plaster of stone, evident all across the floors and walls of the room.
Backstabitha:
- Does it slow Thondor down?
It is a heavy object, but does not slow down a sturdy dwarf!
Rynn_Elocin:
- Mold Earth? Ooh, great question. I hadn't actually put a lot of thought into the utility of that cantrip, but that is going to be very useful! I'll say that it's probably going to be less and less effective the harder the substance in question is. Even medium sized stones seem movable to me with that spell, so long as you are also moving dirt along with it to distribute some of the weight.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
No stranger to mining mishaps, Thondor quickly assesses the situation and not knowing how deep the goo will ultimately get, he determines that the tiny gnome is in the most peril. Determined to not lose another companion to the dangers of the mountain (annoying as she may be) he quickly uses his psionic power to lift the gnome into the air, keeping her above the rising goo until it has hardened enough for her to walk on.
(Expending 1 psi die to use Telekenetic Movement again)
(OOC: if the DM rules that it all happens too quickly for this reaction to happen then I will edit accordingly)
Then as the paste hardens around his body, Thondor will attempt to use brute force to free himself.
Raven looks only slightly shocked when the pillar suddenly snapped. Where they really that loud? Or was it just because of all the dwarves stomping around... ah well, what's done is done. Now they just have to figure a way out of it. She watches as the grey muddy sludge stuff starts poring out of the ceiling. Well, that's not good. Without thinking, she quickly turns to try to run out of the reach of the sludge when suddenly her feet are no longer touching the floor. Floating above the grey goo, she giggles and looks down at Thondor. He has to be the one doing this, she'd seen him lift that drill thing onto himself hadn't she? "Hehe, I knew that skill of yours would be useful! If you hadn't done that, I'd be neck deep and suffocating in that stuff! Tehe. Oh we've gotten ourselves into a right pickle now haven't we." She giggles again as she listens to the silly song someone is singing. Now that is someone with a sense of humor.
Once Thondor puts her down, she walks on top of the plaster stuff and stops in front of him. Smiling, she puts her hands on her knees and bends down to look him in the eyes. "Oh wow, it's so weird being the tall one." She puts a finger on her chin and observes the dwarf's predicament. "Can you still power on that thing you brought down here? If so you can at least loosen the stuff around you. Or...." She stands back up and looks at the ceiling, then calls to Dhara. "Does that scanner thing still say the ceiling is unstable?"
(OOC: Awesome! That sound reasonable! I'm glad it will be useful!)
(Another question, Are the dwarves actually encased in the stuff? You specified that we are all at least five feet away from our nearest comrade, so I'm wondering if we are all just separated? If so, I'll edit this post to match what actually happened. :) )
Dhara gasps in surprise as the goo pours over her... but she manages to hold the scanner above her so that it doesn't get trapped in the sludge. Unfortunately, being slightly shorter than the male dwarves, Dhara finds herself trapped in a rather uncomfortable position with her arms above her head holding the scanner.
"I think you might be in a better position to check the scanner than I am, dear," Dhara says to Raven with a sigh.
Dhara will take a few moments to make sure that the substance has actually hardened into something solid enough to stand on, then cast Misty Step to disappear from the dwarf-shaped hole and re-appear on solid ground so that she and Raven can begin the work of digging out their companions.
Thondor's significant mental might lifts the gnome to safety, before he crushes his way to the surface, flinging a white, chalky powder some distance around him. (With a 20, I'd say you break free!) Taking stock of the situation, you observe that the hardened mining plaster has sealed the exit door, leaving you (temporarily, you hope) trapped in a much smaller chamber.
After gathering herself for a moment, Dhara flickers from view and reappears above the hardened level of the plaster, and proceeds to start helping others free, though the hardened substance is incredibly resistant to such efforts, constantly hardening and resealing itself (Athletics DC 20 to escape, for those still stuck. Take advantage from help from those already above if needed). The scanner reveals that the ceiling is no longer "unstable." Apparently, what had alerted its initial scan was the reservoir of plaster hidden above.
Rynn_Elocin: Great question - I'd say that most of those who have not already broken themselves free are sort of stuck in place, not separated as you can all still hear and talk to each other.
Fingers free for somatic gestures, seeing others freeing themselves and working on getting the others free, Eb starts casting eldritch blast into the plaster/stone confining him, attempting to free himself.

Austrig moves back from the pillar.
It must be dangerous. It has a warning to stay back. Try not to bump it with anything.
