Hello, I am Sonic111, and I am running a hombrew campaign. recently two of my spellcasters needed to abstain from my campaign, so I kinda lost my two only spellcasters. What I need is two spellcasters, Cleric or Warlock is preferrable, but Bard, Wizard, or Sorcerer will do just as well. NO COFFEELOCK! I am looking for players who can post multiple times a day, so you're gonna have to be very active.
Here is the current party:
Jashin 'The Seeker' Shane/Wood Elf/Monk/Way of the Cobalt Soul
Ixsas/Yuan-ti/Monk/Way of Shadow
Mithrellan/Elf/Ranger/Hunter
Noxus/Tiefling/Fighter/Champion
Fluffy/Tabaxi/Barbarian/Path of The Beast
Here is a decription of the campaign
Jashin knew that the goblins would return. But no one, not even his fellow councilmen would listen to him. 227 years, later, Jashin's visions became true. The goblin army had regrouped and prepared for many years to once again wage war on the Feywild, and the Feywild, unprepared and weakened from a long time of peace, is slow to react. The goblin army first began it's conquest in the Forest of Wonders, and any towns or nearby civilizations that were near had either managed to evacuate in time, or was taken by surprise by the goblins. Some of them managed to to fight back, but they would not be able to hold the goblins back for long. Jashin received a message of distress and a cry for help from the town of Dolsela, and Jashin decided that if the Feywild was not quick enough to save these people, Jashin would instead do it himself. So he gathered a small group of legendary warriors, and together, they will attempt to save the town, but even if they succeed in this mission, this one is just the first of many
Requirements:
Name
Race
Class/Subclass
Background
Backstory(include also how you met the Great Monk Jashin)
You may roll three sets for your ability scores and pick whichever set you prefer the most
Will be starting at level 13
Equipment:
Start with starting equipment, 2 potions of healing, and a magical item of Rare status. May pick one of lesser status if you want. If you want to use a homebrew item, pass it by me first and I will see if it will fit.
Also will be using Milestone for leveling up
Note: I am going to be DMing and playing at the same time as well. Not gonna sit back and let everyone have all the fun
Going to base it off a current character (who is currently 14) A Cleric of Oghma (Knowledge cleric) who saved a blink dog and got it as a companion (Will just say Sigurd has moved on back to his pack) and has actually been to the Feywild a few times. (He actually dislikes going there, but it always seems to find his way back) will write him up sans the extra rewards given to him (have played him since level 1).
Backstory(include also how you met the Great Monk Jashin): Nolan has recently arrived back in the Feywild, despite what he swore the last several times he was here. But he owed Jashin a few favors for helping him out the last time he ended up in this logically skewed world. He has come to repay his debt and then check on Sigurd the Blink Dog he left here and perhaps give the Feywild another chance to lure him into permanent residence.
Backstory: (Can't put down words through migraine, but here's the short answer) Hodenoth is a wizard that studied in a library associated with the great monk's monastery. They're known each other in passing for a while
Class: Sorcerer (Shadow Magic) 1 (if allowed)/Warlock (The Undead) 12
Race: Half-Orc
Background: Far Traveler
Backstory: Bridgett's life started the same way as many other half-orcs... her father was an half-elf Bard. But unlike most other stories that started this way, Bridgett's father didn't abandon her. He raised her to the best of his abilities, caring for his family and using his musical talents to keep food on the table. He even taught Bridgette how to play the lyre, which was her pride and joy.
But living among Orcs was not without peril. And one unhappy day, the tribe made the mistake of going to war with a nearby Drow city-state. And the servants of Lolth had little mercy when they were victorious. All of the orcs were either killed or enslaved. Bridgette's mother was killed in the attack, and her father forced to flee. Bridgette herself was taken away by the dark elves and enslaved. There she spent years languishing in the Underdark, the dark magic of the region seeping into her very soul as she toiled, her spirit crushed in the hopeless and oppressive darkness.
Then, a most unlikely savior came to her. A being just as broken as she was, with an equally powerful vendetta against the Dark Elves... a lich by the name of Akkron. The lich descended into the Underdark to root out and punish a group of Dark Elves who had murdered his own daughter several centuries ago, when he was still a mortal man. For reasons unknown, Akkron took pity upon Bridgette when he found her there in the darkness... perhaps she reminded him of his lost child. Or perhaps he simply saw in her as a useful pawn in his schemes for vengeance. Regardless of his reasons, the lich freed her from the Drow, killing dozens of their greatest warriors in the process, and took her back to his lair. There, he made a pact with her, granting her a portion of his power in exchange for loyalty to him and aid when called upon. Since then, Bridgette has made a name for herself, known far and wide as an unstoppable force of Eldritch power.
Bridget herself has never met the Great Monk Jashin... but when he was still a mortal man, her patron knew the monk. And though they haven't been in contact in many years for obvious reasons, Akkron still remembers the monk and respects him. Upon discovering what Jashin faced, the lich sent his most promising protégé to his former friend's aid.
Is there any extra gold to start for things like mundane items or even spells (for those of us looking at wizards)? I'd like to think making it to level 13 earns you some basic stuff, at least, and some coin along the way...
Note that Sonic111 is on a trip with family and probably offline for the entire week.
DavidLech - Unclear, but based on what I've seen so far, the answer is probably yes. For example, if you want a diamond worth 50 gp so that you can use chromatic orb, I suspect that it'll be allowed. If you want a ton of gear or something that's very rare or hard to acquire, probably not. The party started with just the starting equipment, but after the first encounter, the villagers offered to equip the party with common equipment for free.
So far, the campaign has seen two combat encounters one right after the other. Based on that, I guess that part of the motivation here is simply to take some level-13 characters for a spin and see how combat plays out with "third tier" characters. Therefore, if you have one or two spells that require a material component with a specific GP value, I expect that it would be permitted.
