Kell starts to creep forward, putting away his painting supplies and pulling his deck of razor sharp steel cards from his pocket. "C'mon, lets not leave Togar in there alone. Keep the noise down, for now." When he reaches the palisade gate, he gently and slowly eases it open, so as not to cause creaking.
Stealth: 24
Khessa is well aware that her 'Keep the noise down' skills are roughly equivalent to those of a drunken marching band playing at a village fair - so she waits, at least until Avimm informs her that there is danger or that a battle is about to break out.
Togar moves out of line of sight of the creature, heading left and gains some altitude, looking quickly for signs of any bodies or movement, signs of life in the area. After taking a quick look, he heads back to Dusk and Khessa to give a report. He describes the orb and the being standing underneath it to them.
“I was very quiet in my approach, the orb seemed to sense me regardless and then the thing locked eyes with me. I have a feeling that we can’t sneak up on it. Should we approach?”
Togar activates mage armor, and then afterwards his ring of invisibility. You hear a disembodied voice, “I’m going to try again now, see if it can locate me like this. But regardless, I think that we should move forward and sort out what this thing is… and what has happened to everyone.”
"It is quite perceptive..." Khessa thinks aloud "But at least it doesn't attack on sight. Avimm is still there... You have been spotted, but left alone... Maybe we can talk to it"
The blonde arcane warrior recalls Avimm: 'Good job, thank you'.
She then lets out again the short sword blade that seems to be part of her arm and walks until she can see the creature. What does it look like?
Togar you approach the village square again, this time invisible. Even still, as you do, the orb pulses once again. The figure kneeling beneath the orb doesn't seem to notice you, but you do see their eyes searching the vicinity you're in.
Khessa as you walk in with Kell and Dusk and make your way to the village square. You find the orb floating in the air and the figure kneeling below it. The orb pulses briefly as you approach. From where you're at you see dark hair coming out from the dark robes and faint red glowing markings on the exposed hands and feet on the figure.
(OOC: How close are you going to get? It is dark out, so vision isn't great, though it's considered dim light due to the orb.)
"Okay, we're going in." Says Erlang with a shrug. "That's what we are here for, right?" Not attempting to be stealthy anymore, he falls into step alongside the rest of the group and make their way to the the village square. When they get close enough, Erlang uses his Divine Sense to see what kind of creature it is.
((I'd say we stop at the edge of the village square as soon as we can see the creature, or as close as Erlang needs for his Divine Sense.))

Khessa approaches up to 20', smiling and greeting the figure: "Hello and well met! My name is Khessa and you? Are you the girl who had to flee from Wakefield? Are you okay? It's strange to see only you in all of Wolfwater..."
Togar sees them hunting where he was, so he changes to a different location, at the edge of a building, hovering and watching for the response of the thing and the hovering orb.
Erlang, your divine sense doesn't pick up any celestial, fiends, or undead within your immediate vicinity. As you move around Togar and reposition yourself, the orb once again pulses for a brief second, but as Khessa and the rest of the group have begun approaching, this figure doesn't appear to be searching for anyone else.
Dusk, the streets of the village are definitely empty, however you did spot a child just barely glancing out a window of a house as you all walked by heading toward the village square. You also notice well enough that there are symbols marked into the dirt around this kneeling figure and below the orb.
Khessa it's difficult to make out better details of the figure, due to the fact that this giant brown robe covers the majority of their body. The markings visible on their hands and feet do somewhat match the description of the marks of the devil you and your previous group of friends were told about in Wakefield. The figure doesn't respond to you speaking, but you can just barely make out a few words that the figure is muttering to itself "where is she" the voice is soft "summon" there are faint sounds of sniffling and weeping between words "help me .... revenge"

"You look in trouble... Is it because of the red tattoos? Or the globe? Or these signs?" Khessa begins to really worry about the condition of this creature and decides to come further near, slowly one step after another towards her, without frightening her (she stops, if the creature makes it clear to wish that) "My friends and I will gladly help you! But you need to explain us all well, right? How about you take off this giant brown hood and show us better how you are? Are you the girl from Wakefield? Or the 'she' you are looking for is the girl from Wakefield? Come on, dear, tell us all from the beginning... you'll see" she smiles, encouraging "we'll find a way to help you!"
The blonde arcane warrior, if she reaches the limit of the runes traced in the dust, does not go beyond them (not knowing their purpose or effect), but she tries at least, if the creature does not take off the hood, to lower her head so that she can see the creature's features better.

Dusk makes note of the child hiding, but does not yet go to help her, knowing that there are other things to learn of first. As Khessa speaks with the robed feature, Dusk thinks back to any reading he's done hoping to remember what those symbols mean.
Togar moves his position to be able to see the runes on the ground in front of the figure, trying to read them and discover their nature and purpose. He stays at an angle from the rest of the group, hovering in the air. “What does this creature want? Strange….” he thinks to himself as he floats in the air.

"Who is 'she'?" Erlang steps up beside Khessa, his eyes fixed on the mysterious creature. His expression is more serious now that he is focused on the figure before him, "Tell us more, and we can help you."
'It is extremely evident,' Khessa reflects, while waiting for the mysterious figure to reply to at least some of those who have spoken to it 'that this creature meditates deeply on the answers it intends to give... its defects certainly do not include rashness in speaking'.

Dusk is also waiting back with Khessa until it knows that there is danger.

Happy to let the others talk, Dusk instead simply does its best to see what it can notice in the area that the others may have missed.
RE: OOC - Dusk has dark vision of 300ft, so isn’t too phased about the light around the orb.
