This seems like something that will work but will take time. You will be able to free yourself regardless of the roll but the roll will determine how long it will take to free yourself.
Okay... What will the group in the spider cave do?
Also, while Folki is getting free, the horses get spooked by lightning and run off again in to the darkness (It's day but the dark clouds make it dark)
Elsara looks around the cave, seeing if there's a bit which isn't riddled with spider webs for them to effectively sit out of the rain coming from the hole above them. "Now we have to wait out a stupid thunderstorm before finding the horsies." She mutters to herself, attempting to ring out the wet in her hair before taking her spellbook out and flicking through it idly.
(If we get a chance for a short rest, then I will use Arcane Recovery to regain a new 1st level spell slot)
"I think when I'm a super powerful and successful adventurer I'm gonna make a spell that stops you getting wet in the rain." Elsara tells the others as they are waiting for the storm to blow over.
Meanwhile, the storm ends at about the same time Folki gets free. Folki, make a Survival check to track the horses. If you want to fly around to search instead, then you can roll Perception instead.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Once Folki cuts through the rope (do I delete it from my equipment or is it still useful?) he will follow the direction the horses ran off in and look for tracks or broken branches etc. that might reveal where they went
"I think the rain's stopped." Elsara says, looking up at the hole again. "I hope Mister Folki is okay up there." She looks to the others. "You guys head up first. I can cast one more Feather Fall if you fall down, then I can just tie myself on and you can pull the rope up." She offers.
(oof, this spider cave is killing the dice. Elsara, don’t waste your spell slot, let Gendan fall and take the hit. Can I retcon that Gendan arranged that with her beforehand?)

Whoops! Missed the edit. You can retcon it. Question is... does Elsara agree?
Either way, you rolled 8 so you got pretty high up. Gendan almost reaches a long way but at the last moment she sneezes and loses her grip. Fall damage: 12 DC14 Acrobatics for half damage.
Elsara will assume that Gendan has a plan, so not use feather fall in that scenario.
Beyond that, if Elsara sees someone else fall from so high up, she'll use Feather Fall. If they're a bit lower, perhaps she'll try and help to perhaps attempt to cushion their fall (the whole "I've got you" thing from below)

The storm continues for another hour so you get short rest. The only place with less spider web is near the hole.
As soon as the storm starts to receed Val will go out and try to locate the horses's tracks.

"I think when I'm a super powerful and successful adventurer I'm gonna make a spell that stops you getting wet in the rain." Elsara tells the others as they are waiting for the storm to blow over.
Val, the storm has washed away whatever tracks the horses might have left. Also everyone gets 6XP for this encounter.
Back when it was still raining, Gabby responds to Elsara, "Yeah... I'd learn magic if only to cast that spell."

Val successfully climbs the rope. Gendan falls Gabby, with her confidence curbed by Gendan's fall decides to go last. Athletics: 16
Val, why did you roll Arcana?
Folki, the rope is... still usable.
Gabby successfully gets out.
