When the group meets back up again, Elsara would ask to check over the ring, ritual casting detect magic and seeing if there is anything amiss and hoping that this is the genuine ring they are after.

It's the ring and it isn't magical in any way, just well-made.

Satisfied that they have a job done, Elsara suggests they put it away in a backpack of holding for the time being. She'll also go a quick glance of the room with magic vision just in case. Don't want any hidden Affectus Uti stuff in the area etc.

Devarus by all means comply to Elsara's suggestion. He still appeared curious about what the trio had found in meantime, if someone hadn't already explained it. "If none of you have any suggestions in regards to our second mission -- finding details here, that is -- though from other sections of the town, mayhaps we hit the road in the morning and travel south to the location? Or even better yet, find a local guide that can give us details about the grasslands?" 

(To DM: Out of curiosity, would the ring mission be consider 'complete' only if returned to sender? Or can we simply notify its finding, and intent to return with it for that to be so? And if the later, can it be said we had done so on our way to the bar?)

The ring mission is complete only upon the client receiving a ring. However, this does not mean you have to go back to Sydil. Take advantage of Rurik's advanced postal service and send the ring along with the mission report to the guild. At the same time turn in the official application for the 2nd mission: the one where people seem to be disappearing around this region. The whole thing will cost 1 GP

"Well I suppose I can send a message back to Miss Darkwing to let her know that we're sending it via post." Elsara suggests. "Also we can always ask the city guard about anything we should keep a look out for or places to avoid. It might have some potential leads for us."

"If you could handle both, that would appreciated, Miss Elsara. As for trusting the guards with leads however, I would have to refer back to ours -- Miss Gendan and I -- encounter with them. Which in a word went poorly; hints my suggestion of seeking out a guide in town." Devarus admits plainly. "If you wish to try your hand at though, I can no advice that would be sufficient."

((Things are getting kinda scary here. Staying home and avoiding going out. Also got a minor cough but I think that's just the normal cold.))

(( take it easy, you probably had just a minor cough. If you feel fever or lack of breath then call the hospital, wear mask and latex gloves if you have to go out and take care of yourself. Most of the people who had it pass it with mild synthomps similar to a flu if they don't have prior breathing problems. Old age is a factor too, but I am sure that you are far from that ;). Just keep at home, you and the rest, and try to make as few trips outside as you can. Take care of yourself and let us know how you are feeling!! : ) ))
