Navi's head tilts back as she watches Zeg fly up into the air. She flutters her own wings as if remembering she had them. Right! She zips off in a direction in search of the boy. A symbol of light appears on her forehead as she hums to herself as she takes a look around.

Faelan goes on all fours and starts sniffing the ground looking for clues. He sniffs here, and he sniff there. He hears the buzzing off Navi's wings flying behind him. "Hey Thanks!!" He answers her first question. "Well, Ms. Dirlagraun is like a mother to me, so I would do anything for her. Even if today is my day off, it don't matter none." Faelan continues sniffing, and trying to follow the trail of the boy. "As a matter of fact yeah." Faelan continues replying to the very inquisitive Fairy. "Ah do work here. Ah do a little bit of everything, ya know, but mainly Luz and ah work the spotlights in the Big Top." He keeps going until he finds another set of tracks, and he gets up to look around, then he looks west. "So, we are looking for the boy that ran away, and I am actually looking for mah friend Luz." Faelan looks up at Navi, his head moving rapidly trying to keep up with the zig zagging Fairy. "Yeah know, I betchya you would love to meet Luz. She's kinda like you, but smaller... I think." He see that Zeg and Navi fly up and help from above, he goes back to what he was doing.

The crowd thickens, and both Flynn and Faelan find themselves swimming upstream against a strong current of bodies who all seem to be moving in the opposite direction to them. Faelen perseveres, but Flynn stops to try an alternative method. Taking out his pipes, he begins to play a series of popular nursery rhymes. The tunes aren't original, but his skill is apparent, and the crowd slows down as people turn to watch and listen. A few even stop and dance along to the music, assuming this is all part of the supplied entertainment. None of those that stop resemble the child that fled from the Lost Property wagon, although Flynn does notice something unusual as he scans the crowd. Two large round eyes stare at Flynn from the roof of a nearby wagon, atop a bald, green head. Eye contact is made for the briefest moment, but when Flynn blinks and looks again, the eyes are gone.
Two pairs of wings take flight above the crush of people, one feathered and tan, the other membranous and blue. From their aerial vantage point, Zeg and Navi can more easily scan the crowd, seeing past the height of the adults and making out the forms of the children that are concealed amongst them. Zeg spots Viro only moments before Navi; both can only see him from behind, but can still recognise his hair and clothing, as well as the fake wings he wears on his back, and can see that he is barely ten feet in front of Faelan, who is laboring valiantly through the crowd. They can also see that Viro appears to be holding the hand of another child, who is in fact guiding him deftly through the crush, and leading him toward the far west side of the Carnival. The second child is also facing away from them, but is clearly a girl with shoulder-length black hair, a plain brown dress, and... blue-grey skin? One hand holds Viro's while the other clutches a giant lollipop.

There is too many people now, so Faelan is no longer able to stay in all fours. He resumes the search standing up, trying to navigate the crowd. He sees that Flynn is trying to distract the crowd with his pipe to give him some space, but he is still not able to locate the child he is looking for. Then he hears Zeg announcing that he has found the kid. "Ah'll be right behind ya!!" Faelan acknowledges. He turns his head back as he's hoping on his powerful hind legs to keep up with Zerg. "Ouu a lollipop!" Navi flickers in excitement as she flutters feet from Zeg, tailing Faelin. "Pew pew!" With one fell swoop and some blasts of her finger guns, the fairy calls forth bursts of flower petals to come raining down above the children in hopes to catch their attention and pause them long enough for Faelin to catch up.
(OOC: Sorry, would have replied earlier, but was watching the Wimbledon men's final. So good!)
Zeg:
There are many strange and curious creatures at the Carnival, with Zeg not the least among them. However when he swoops down and lands in front of the two children, the sight of the strange little girl gives the druid a funny feeling in his gizzard. Her skin not only appears a sickly tone of blue-grey, but her fingers end in pointed claws. Her blue-grey face is mostly covered with a mask that resembles a pig, below which a mouth of semi-rotted teeth is visible. The moment that Zeg lands and hails Viro, the girl's head whips around to glance briefly at the owlin, after which she releases her hold on the boy's arm and slips wordlessly away into the crowd, leaving Viro with Zeg.
Navi:
The fairy only catches a brief glance at the girl accompanying Viro, but it sparks a momentary flash of memory in Navi's mind. However the thought fades before it can be grasped, as fleeting as the flower petals that flutter and fall among the throng, and by the time Navi looks back, the girl has fled.
All:
Navi's burst of flower petals draws a delighted gasp from the multitude, and coincidentally punctuates the final chord of Flynn's current tune. It certainly seems to the crowd to have been a planned performance, and it draws a hearty round of applause from the listeners, who then begin to move normally again. However the pause is just sufficient to allow Faelan to slip past the remaining blockers, and reach Viro and Zeg, standing together.
Viro looks at Zeg warily, not recognising the owlin but recognising the name of Dirlagraun. With a mixture of confusion and frustration, he points in the direction he was originally travelling and protests: No! I don't want to go back! I want to go where the toys are!
Flynn receives several appreciative back-slaps and handshakes from the audience as they move on, as well as a few copper pieces and some small candy. However, he also notices as the calliope music begins again to whistle across the air, that it sounds even more merry and harmonious than before, as though responding to the mood of the crowd.

Zeg hesitated for a moment. Again, indecision slowed him down. He watched the strange figure disappear into the crowd and decided not to follow. They had found Viro and he didn't seem to want to go with him, he better deal with that first.

Viro shies away from Zeg without answering, apparently intimidated by the big-eyed owlin, despite the fact that he is about Zeg's equal in height. Faelan's arrival and follow-up attempt seems to garner a slightly more favorable response, and the child at least answers the harengon: I don't want to go back! I want to go with Sowpig, to the place they make the toys! She said I could help make some toys! But despite Viro's reluctance, he is too young to protest for long without complying, and he soon relents and follows the search party back to the Lost Property wagon, albeit with further grumbling.
Dirlagraun is delighted to see the group return with Viro, and offers the boy a mug of toffee apple juice from the small keg around her neck, after which Viro's complaints desist, and he goes and sits quietly with his sister. The displacer beast then bows to the group, still holding the small mirror ball that sparked the angry outburst, and speaks softly in Sylvan. (Dirlagraun noticed that Flynn had trouble understanding her before, and has now identified that Flynn looks somewhat elvish, so she adds some paraphrasing in Elvish to include him in the conversation):
Again, my apologies, kind strangers. There is no excuse for my behavior, only to tell you that this ball that Viro picked up is most precious to me. You see, it belonged to my cub. It has been many years since my little Star went missing, and this is all I have to remember him by. I couldn't bear to have it go missing too...

Zeg gives a short bow. "Our pleasure for certain. We found him being led by someone named Sowpig who was apparently taking him to see where the toys are made. She was a strange looking girl. Her skin appeared a sickly tone of blue-grey, but her fingers ended in pointed claws. Her blue-grey face was mostly covered with a mask that resembles a pig, below which a mouth of semi-rotted teeth is visible. She took off when we stopped Viro to get him back to you."
Zeg then stopped and pondered for a moment.
"Star? Did Star go missing 8 years ago by any chance? " He asks.
The description of Sowpig doesn't seem to spark any recognition with Dirlagraun, but she responds to Zeg's question:
Oh, it's been many more than eight years. Yes indeed! My little Star would be all grown up by now. And sadly, he's not the only one. Poor Burly's brother Hurly disappeared some time back. And before that there were the acrobat twins, Glister and Gleam. Members of the public often go missing from time to time - mostly children. And it's not just people, either. For many years people have been losing things from the Carnival - things precious to them.
Dirlagraun sighs, and then adds:
Oh, speaking of lost things... Cottontail! You were looking for little Luz! I believe she had some free time before the Big Top Extravaganza, so she's probably teasing Northwind. He should be around here somewhere distributing welcome gifts. Oh, yes, I think I see him up by the dragonfly rides!
Dirlagraun extends one tentacle to point toward where a treant can be seen above the heads of the crowd, just a short distance to the east over a small bridge.
Faelan:
Some of this information is familiar to Faelan, but not much. He knows that Burly's brother disappeared suddenly, but didn't know about the displacer kitten or the acrobat twins going missing, or about the general trend of people and things vanishing. It would seem that either the knowledge isn't widespread, or that the other Witchlight hands simply don't discuss it. However, he has heard of Glister and Gleam, the Selenelion twins and recalls seeing a framed picture of them in the Big Top, amongst other 'former stars of the Witchlight Carnival'.
"I, uh, that's actually why I came to the fair. Eight years ago I snuck in as a kid and had something stolen from me. Now I'm back to retrieve what I’ve lost. Seems like I'm not the only one." Zeg said, looking sad.
Oh, I see. Well, do not trust to hope, Dirlagraun replies sadly, looking at the mirror ball. I doubt even Mister Witch and Mister Light have an answer for that. They are terribly taciturn on the topic... if they ever say anything at all.
