Merrick jumps in the song with Muireach, matching note for note, and playing counterpoint. The two instruments play around each other, weaving and playing, higher and higher.
There is a party more or less at the marketplace. Dyoken, heavily distracted by the big bosomed and beautiful Drow, completely seems to have forgotten Seven even existed. Vivi is playing along with Muireach's song on her acoustic guitar. Finally, Merrick jumps in and follows along as well, but he wants to win! He wants to win so badly.
Merrick starts to play higher. Muireach follows suit. They compete this way until finally -
Merrick's string snaps unleashing a sharp note to the audience. Everyone goes quiet for a moment.
This looks bad...
"I thank you, fine audience!"Mr. MacCawn, the green Aarakocra, flew up and bowed to the audience. "By the power invested in me by the beautiful goddess of music-"and he then squawked out something, perhaps a name "-I say that this strange, possibly an elf, man is the winner!" Ms. Canaria, the yellow kenku, suddenly appeared by Muireach's side and lifted his hand into the air. "Thank you, thank you."
After a few moments, the party is over and everyone seems to return to whatever they were doing before.
Meanwhile... with Luthok...
"... and so my good friend, if you and your strapping friend would be interested in venturing to the Peaks of Mullivan with some of our researchers, we could compensate you with, oh, perhaps with about 100 gold a piece. Of course, we also provide rations for the journey, no need to worry unless you have some particular dietary restrictions I'd suppose. It would be quite fantastic to see if the legendary weapon Moonshadow is indeed located where we think it is."
With that, the two exchange good-byes. Luthok hobbles his way down to the marketplace, which is en route to his house. He spies the tail end of your little contest. His eyes dart from Muireach, Merrick, Dyoken, and Vivi. He rushes up like an old, angry bull surprisingly limber in his haste to shout.
"WHERE THE BLAZING HELLS IS SEVEN, YOU NINCOMPOOPS!" Luthok wags his staff in your direction, lecturing. "PLEASE TELL ME YOU KILLED THE *****!"

Dyoken, arm around his partner's waist takes in a deep breath as Luthok storms up. He turns around whipping his new suddenly forgotten friend's legs behind him as he turns, searching. Then he looks back at the bossom he's holding. "Right, the girl... You'll have to excuse me. I was searching for someone in particular." He sets her back on her feet. "I hope we meet again soon." He dashes off through the crowd looking hopelessly for Seven as he leaps onto the porch post of a shop and scrambles up for a higher vantage (Athletics: 21, Perception: 13)
That deep black skin sticks out in the crowd accented by the white hair. The sun shines on the curves of her features glinting with moisture from the exertion, heaving, out of breath, but confidently smiling... That is not who he was looking for.
Merrick hops up to Muireach, and raises the elf's arm up. "That was fantastic! You really blew me away! It was a real honor to get to play with you. Wow!" effuses Merrick. "I thought I was good, but boy did I learn what good is. I wonder if I could ever be as good as you."
As Muireach rakes in the well deserved accolades from the crowd, Merrick turns to the bird bards. "You guys were amazing too. You picked up those tunes, just like that! Can you teach me how to play as well as you?"
The drow woman's cheeks flush somewhat as she nods. As he sets her down, she says, "My name is Amalica. If you are ever in Nieven, I work at The Second Plate. Au revoir~" She heads northeast toward Gate Nieven.
Despite his efforts, Dyoken definitely can't find any sign of Seven anywhere.
Mr. McCawn's face spells triumph as Merrick compliments him. Ms. Canaria nods along. When Merrick asks his question, the pair of birds pass each other some looks. "My friend, we could teach you a thing or two while we are here, but it takes many years of practice!"Ms. Canaria whistles sadly. "Ms. Canaria and I don't make our home here in the Landing. No, no, so our lessons wouldn't be reliable."
"Mr. McCawn." Ms. Canaria says in the other birdie's voice. "The legend of Skysovereign!"
"Oh hoh! How could I forget, how about I sing-"
"By the seventh circle of Mora, we don't have time for this." Luthok interposes between Merrick and the bird bards. "You let a murderous girl, who would love to kill us and Vivi mind you, escape you gits." Luthok radiates red from underneath his mask. He is positively pissed.
"Let us sing, my lovebird!"Mr. MacCawn shouts, undisturbed by Luthok's rage. He begins to play his accordion and the lovely Ms. Canaria sings back-up vocals to his song. The music waltzed as Mr. MacCawn begun.
In days long past
Before your time
Even the sky - was - not - our li- mit!
Believe in me you'll see,
and it will turn the key
to the Skysovereign's rest, wait and see! (wait and see!)
So the story goes
Or so I've been told.
A spark - in - the - sun - will - ig- nite it!
Wait until it's time,
and the stage is set
and the Skysovereign will come in view! (in view!)
Take flight
Set course for Delight!
It comes
Only darkest of nights.
Find her
The Goddess of Song.
Unimpressed, Luthok looks at Vivi. "Vivi, tell me what happened here." Luthok tries to sound less angry when talking with Vivi.

"What would you recommend?" Dyoken asks completely missing Amalica's apparent discomfort. What ever she recommends DK will have. He turns to the party with a foolish grin before replies to Merrick. "Could be, but even if you knew when to look the song didn't say where. Unless 'set course for Delight' is more meaningful to you lot than me." He goes on, "So we've lost Seven, no problem. If we're going to shut down Grimer's Kidz we're going to need to locate his remaining deadly daughters. What'd you guys find out at the library?"
To Luthok he asks, "What have you got Luthok?" Refraining, this time, from joking about what the old dwarf knows about sharing.
"I would recommend our roasted deer, monsieur. Freshly hunted just this morning. My papa is quite apt at skinning!"If Dyoken looks over to the man at the counter, he will see him sharpening a knife while looking directly at DK. Once DK nods, she smiles. She will take everyone else's order and scurry away.
"The library? Oh!" The old dwarf sighed. "It was only this morning, but it feels like it occurred ages ago. I found out about the Great Plague- er"Luthok casts a glance at Vivi. "Cover your ears, girl." She obeys him. She even starts humming the Skysovereign song to herself. "Now, listen close, cause if I have to repeat myself, I will brain you!"
Luthok says, in so many words:
He thinks Vivi may be 100 years old in some form or another. He remembered treating her about that long ago, and a plague occurred around then.
Luthok wants to read more about necromancy, because Vivi hasn't the maturity of someone who lived all 100 years. He thinks she died at some point and was resurrected or some other necromantic tomfoolery. However, the library book is currently being kept by Urich the Strange, a wizard. The book is long overdue and the library pages and couriers are all too scared to retrieve it from him. If you want to read that book, you are going to have to go to Urich's. Urich's tower is actually nearby. It's located between here and Shepherd's Manor to the southeast.
Luthok will basically rely everything he heard from Ivsaar, which was:
The Archaeological Society is looking for some paid muscle to either escort some of their researchers to potential sites of interest. This would give the adventurers a monetary benefit, but the Archaeological Society will be able to claim any and all treasure within the site. However, for a job done particularly well, there could be bonuses.
While Ivsaar cannot purchase many golden suns from you, he is still interested in acquiring them. He might even be willing to trade artefacts for your golden sun coins.
You could also potentially exchange your golden sun coins for potential services, like having an artefact researched which might yield you lore, unknown abilities, or an offer of purchase for gold coins.
Of course, all initial expeditions would be on a trial basis, and the monetary reward for assisting would be lessened as other guards would be in attendance.
Ivsaar is looking for men to accompany a pending expedition to the Peaks of Mullivan to find the legendary Moonshadow weapon.
This is probably the most you've ever heard Luthok speak!

Luthok says, in so many words:
This is probably the most you've ever heard Luthok speak!
