(The map is correct. The description above includes the cavern where you are now and the building you just left. There is a section directly south that has not been explored. An eagle will not fit through the closed doors.)
Ahhhhh ok Sooooo just south east of the double doors, is that a wall or is there an opening for the bird to go?
I ask the mage if he has any spells that can allow us to see beyond the door. I will also look for small animals (mouse, rat, etc) that I can communicate with and send into the room.
Sorry DM. Didn't mean to chase off players. What's the point of having a backstory if we aren't expected to respect it though?
Might as well end the campaign with a bang. Leek throws open the the doors and confronts whatever hellish creature he finds there, because THAT'S WHAT MY CHARACTER WOULD DO! :)
Ok, I'd like to think I'm impartial and not the instigator of what happened. But I want to point something out, as I see it:
1) Elila decided to not participate in the fight with the Spectator, which if I didn't step in and Meta with Rindelk, had the potential to TPK those inside the room. I didn't complain or berate anyone for the decisions they made. But the player behind Elila left her party to potentially die because that's what the character would do.
2) Leek did not make the decision to split up. And I hold no fault for making that choice. Doesn't mean Leek can't come barging into the big final boss fight and participate even if the other party members don't want to be a party anymore.
Player turn around in Play by Post games is high. This is not unusual and it's really a shame to leave when the module is 99% done. Sorry to see you go, but the game must go on. Wish you the best of luck in your future games.
To Leek and Katerielle... if you wish, you can take control and play multiple characters (Rindelk for Leek, Elila and Kitryn for Katerielle). You don't need to role play the others, just your own.
Lets find out how this story ends, yeah?
Edit: Oh wow.. Wysperra didn't just leave, they took the Elila character with them out of the campaign... I will try to contact and have them relinquish Elila.
Hmmmm. Interesting that I get berated by a player for attacking a creature because my character would have done so, and as you point out, the same player potentially left us to die because he was playing his character, and now quits because he doesn't accept the playing character defence... Anyways, I apologize for antagonizing but not for playing character!
I can take control of Rindelk if you wish, seeing as we are potentially entering a crazy engagement.
(The player behind Rindelk has unassigned his character, but because he uses Rindelk as his alias across many games, he asked that the name be changed.)
As Rindelk prepares to follow Leek into the unknown, he extends his hand and says, "I have to admit, I've been holding back as well. My true name is Beibalar Ostoroth, from the Feywild. I have to say, this plane of yours is truly fascinating. There is so much to study!"

Rindelk apologizes, he does not have any spells in his spell book that would allow him to see inside the building from the outside.
When you ask the vermin skittering around the caves, they refuse to go into that building.
Ok, well can I get Rindelk to send his bird south to make sure we don't get ambushed while we try and decide what to do about the room of hell?
And did the people that participated in the battle with the watcher get xp?
DM said exp doesn't matter anymore.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
-Ilyara Thundertale
Rindelk nods and replies, "My familiar will watch the south cave and warn me if anything approaches. What now?"
Katerielle, Elila and Kitryn continue to move and reach the rift with the ropes to climb down and back up.
I don't have time for the "It's what my character would do." wangrod defense.
I'm out. Enjoy your game.

Katerielle will climb down and back up headed across the cavern to the northwest.
