Lady Arin responds to Chadwick, "I was brought here down these stairs and back the way you came. They had someone pole jump across the bridge rather that using magic, like he did," she nods towards Trolkarl. "The longer my mission goes unfulfilled the greater the danger. I must get to a place of safety out of these warrens."
Starker:”Listen, Lady, you aren’t giving orders here. You’re a package we have to deliver. Convince us your mission is urgent and important and we might choose to act as though it were. Continuing to assert it without evidence or argument is useless.”
Starker:”I have dug more into Duren’s notes. This might be of interest:
Intrigue – Duren was very active in his dealings with the various factions on Bral. He details a large number of contacts through the low city and mid-city and refers to others in the high city. Among these mentioned contacts are someon at the Astral Elven embassy, The Juggler, Durgan Vox, someone in high-town only referred to as V, several guard sergeants in low-town and mid-town as well as Gurbal Sharptusk listed as owner of Fight Club.
Mind Flayers – He has been working with the mind flayers for about a year now. They are cultivating relationships with factions in reference to The Plan. An envoy from Waterdeep is mentioned as key to this plan. The information they carry is needed. Duren awaits the return of Nolreth the Mindseer to extract her brain the gain that information.

Lady Arin looks to Starker, “I really don’t want to come across as ungrateful. That mind flayer was just about to eat my brain. I’m not sure if my fate or Toerin’s was to be worse. I’m definitely ahead right now. I have you and your compatriots to thank,” she looks each of you in the eye. “Chadwick, who has been most polite,” she blushes a bit at this, “asked a question. I am on a mission. You have no right to know that mission. My preference is to get the flying F—- out of here before more illithids show up to investigate what killed their brother.” She pauses a moment. “You know that they have an Elder Brain here, right? It knows Nolreth is dead.”
Starker:”How’s this for a plan: three groups: Lady in the second group. Glaive in the third group. First group scouts and springs any surprises. Second group sneaks out in any confusion and dashes for exit without stopping. Third group will help out where needed taking whoever is causing trouble surprise. Suggest people who are good with people in first group. Fast people in second. Heavy hitters in third.
“Chadwick: the glaive may be a problem. You know best if it is worth the risk.”
Chadwick pulls off his helm and a gauntlet and rubs his eyes as if trying to work away a headache while letting out a big sigh.
"Starker, your spells and insight has saved the party on more than one occasion, but you really do need to work on your manners bud.
I get it, our nerves are frayed. We've had multiple near death experiences since this started. I can't remember the last time we had a decent night's sleep. And all while dealing with this cities bloody criminal underbelly. But we are very very close to being able to pull off this rescue mission which we had next to nothing to go on to start.
Let's do a quick inventory of the spells/resources we have. I have a potion of healing, and one casting of channel divinity (spell that gives advantage for 1 minute).
Exit order, probably best if I'm in the middle group. With that one spell I should be able to do a decent amount of damage quickly if it comes to that. In the center I can quickly get to the front or rear if needed. Probably best to keep the lady in the center. So Kragen and Hoid in front since they're a little slower and if it comes down to a race let's give them a head start. The Lady and Straker in the center with me, and Gneuman Trolkarl can bring up the rear."
If Lady Arin doesn't have Chadwick's cloak still he'll give it to her.
"It's not much, better hopefully it'll help hide you a bit.
I like Trolkarl's idea of playing this off like we are annoyed and leaving. If anyone asks me about the glaive I'll say nobody told me it was unarmed so I'm leaving. If some guard wants to make a fuss let's try and bribe them first before running or fighting. Maybe I'm wrong, but my guess is most of the guards don't know what's really going on so would rather avoid a hassle, especially if there is some gold to be made.
We also need a plan once we get out of here. Lady Arin, Lady Ventrix requested we take you directly to the (occ/ foggy here, magistrate/prince? Do we know where that is?). Is that ok with you?
If so probably best not to get too cute or clever and just double time it there. Steal a horse for her if we have to. We can return it later and pay restitution to the owner.
“Suggest we move and get on with it, if these beings, as Lady Stormrider mentions are connected. Likely they will not be pleased we have disrupted their plans.”
“I have used most of Tyrs divine powers keeping us alive in this place. I will only be able to call on his support a few more times.”
What if Chadwick and Trolkarl go first since they were together anyway. Chadwick carrying the glaive is going to draw attention from the guards which would make it easier to slip the lady out unnoticed.
If when we get out into corridor first group goes straight and interacts with people at desk second group can decide whether to go straight or left based on what Cyrus sees.
All is quiet and dark as you ascend the spiral stairs up and out of the bedrock of the Rock of Bral. The small room at the upper landing is dark and the door to the storeroom is closed. Nothing is heard beyond the door and opening it slightly you see the storeroom is dark and quiet. All of you quietly enter the room. All that can be heard is a quiet drip-drip coming from the grate in the floor. The trapdoor above is closed. Some of the barrels and kegs have been moved since you were last here. No sounds can be heard from above.
Little confused on the path out. Do we need to go through the trap door to exit? If so Chadwick will get a ladder or crate to stand on, listen, and if quiet head through. Then keep look out while the others file through assuming all is clear.
If we don't need to... if Cyrus reports the western passage clear proceed down until we get to the staircase listen more. Then wait for Cyrus to give all clear before heading up.
Do we know how far it is to the high Magistrate's office?
Unless the arch villain is waiting for us in the shadows, it seems like the path out is probably clear because we are not leaving during normal business hours. Hoid proposes that we turn paranoia up to 11 but otherwise proceed to the nearest exit.

Uh, Hoid is no rocket surgeon, but ….

“Chadwick: the glaive may be a problem. You know best if it is worth the risk.”
The plan seems sound to me. Some additional or alternative thoughts.
Second group starts at a walk so as to draw less attention, then starts to run if needed.
Group three walks right behind group two so that heavy hitting is immediately at hand.
Glaive is in the second or third group if Chadwick is in one of those groups. If Chadwick is in the first group, glaive is with Hoid in group three.
I have a vague recollection of someone having a misty step scroll. If there is one in the party, give it to the Lady to expedite her escape if needed.
The misty step scroll was spent. I think that was in the battle with the dragon and the hags.
Chadwick pulls off his helm and a gauntlet and rubs his eyes as if trying to work away a headache while letting out a big sigh.

Damn, really wish Freya was here right now."
“Apart from cantrips and 2 of the simplest spells I have one more complicated spell I can use before I take a long rest.
“The more complicated spells I have prepared are Hold Person, Misty Step, Sleep, and Web.”
Hoid being in the first group is contrary to people who are good with people in first group and heavy hitters in the last group.
“Suggest we move and get on with it, if these beings, as Lady Stormrider mentions are connected. Likely they will not be pleased we have disrupted their plans.”

Turns and heads towards the stairs
Lady Arin moves with Kragen, she appears ready to go.
Starker sends Cyrus with first group so second group has an idea as to what is going on ahead. Shares senses, narrates what he sees.
What if Chadwick and Trolkarl go first since they were together anyway. Chadwick carrying the glaive is going to draw attention from the guards which would make it easier to slip the lady out unnoticed.
Sounds good. (Chadwick, Trokarl, Cyrus) (Kragen, Lady, Starker) (Gneuman, Hoid, Ajax)?
If when we get out into corridor first group goes straight and interacts with people at desk second group can decide whether to go straight or left based on what Cyrus sees.
