She gets a bit surprised when Rixian decides to join them in their juice drinking, but even more when Lilliana appears and begins to address them so vehemently.
- Oh, I'm sure they are fine! They seem to be pretty sneaky! But we will keep an eye for them. And if they have been caught ... well, we will free them all! That's what we've come here to do, and although some of us are young, we are pretty strong! I'm certain we will get to the bottom of this.
When Leeta notices the turkey and potatoes that Lilliana has put on the counter, her stomach litterally rumbles. She approaches her little nose to the dishes, smells it and exclaims:
- This smells delicious! Can I get a dish of this?
But as soon as she asks this, she notices that Mizu has already addressed the dragonborn, so she says "Be back in a minute!" and goes stand next to the water genasi.
"Well at least the mayor seems to be trying to resolve the matter. Probably best we head there next and see what the mayor knows. Hopefully there is something more to go on, as so far disappearing without a trace isn't the ideal. Kulogall, I am going to head over there and give some solace to an old friend, but perhaps once we have eaten we try and get the rest of the folk here and head over to the mayors abode?"
Rowarin carefully collects the 2 ales and food, thanking Bill and Lilliana for their kind hospitality, and heads over to Nathaniel. Setting the plates and ales down, he sits next to Nathaniel and takes a large swig of ale. "Ahhhhh, I never realised how much I needed that. Eat up friend, it's on me."
Rowarin observes Nathaniel whilst they eat, and tries to soothe him "We've gathered some insight to the situation, and we're going to head to the mayor to get some answers. I am confident this will get us something we can work on. You go home, in case Freya returns. If I have any news for you, I will make sure you will know of it." Rowarin places a hand on Nathaniels shoulder, gripping it firmly. "Try not to worry. We will get answers."
With a nod and handshake, Rowarin collects himself and heads back over to the group. "So, who's coming to the mayors place? I hear he has been asking for help with the situation - and those who are after monetary compensation, there was mention of a reward."
Kulogall pays for his meal and gives some extra coin to secure a room as well. When Rowarin mentions visiting the Mayor, he nods, darting a glance over at Mina and Rixian, trying to assess the threat level and conversations. “That sounds like a good plan. The only way to start is to speak with those that may have knowledge of these disappearances and investigate the sites that they were taken from. Fey heritage…. There must be something else going on here and I agree with your approach. I’d be glad to accompany you.”
Kulogall finishes his meal quickly and stands up straight, watching the interplay in the room once more, gripping a small piece of wire in his hand and sending a message to Mina, saying “Investigating the Mayor with Rowarin, feel free to join or keep pressing here as you feel necessary. Careful with that one… a Drow? Maybe we should stay together…” He walks over with Rowarin as he announces their departure to the others, indicating that he’s joining in on the visit to the Mayor’s house. When Rowarin mentions the reward out loud, his eyes quickly dart around the room noticing who is watching and listening to them.
"Of course young sirs." Bill replies to Rixi and Mizu, then nods to Leeta and pulls out three glasses. He pulls out two jugs and fills each glass with the specified juices before sliding them to their respective drinkers.
"She's not always with them." Liliana replies to the Genasi, then turns back to the other halfling. "I hope so dear. But please, if you see her or any other children who don't look like they have a place to live, send them here. They used to come here regularly, but I haven't seen them in a while. I don't know what could have scared them away from here, this is as safe a place as any! Certainly it's safer than anywhere that they could be staying!" She pats Leeta's arm, "Oh! You want some food! Of course!" Then she rushes back to the kitchen.
When Mizu approaches the loud dragonborn, she gazes down at him and gives him a toothy grin. "Interested? Hahah! I merely be curious as to why two children are traveling with a bunch of mercenaries. Heheh." She reaches a hand out and ruffles his hair. "If I had anythin to say to you, I'da been the one to approach ye Little boy." After Mizu's hair is sufficiently ruffled, she removes her hand and takes a long swig from her mug. The two men on the other side of the table stifle drunken laughs as she does so. Then she looks at Leeta who has scampered on over as well. "Heh, ye might not be a child, but ye don't be lookin like a bounty hunter neither. I do be right in guessin that's why yer here?"
Nathaniel stares at the plate of food Rowarin set in front of him for several moments before slowly picking up his fork. After the Aasimar finishes and instructs him to go home, the man nods. "Thank you Rowarin. If...if I think of anything that could help, I'll find you. If you need to find me." He gives a weak smile, "Well I still live in the same house."
The drow glances over at Rowarin when he asks who wants to accompany him to see the mayor. Then he looks back at Mina. "Sounds like your friends are leaving. You should stick with them."
Mizu tenses visibly, gritting his teeth in irritation when the Dragonborn dares to ruffle his hair. Just cause he's younger then her doesn't give her the right to ignore his personal space. And then she has the gall to call him 'little boy' at least the innkeeper had enough courtesy to call him 'young sir' even if it wasn't any less annoying. He glares at her, immediately deciding that he doesn't like this... scaly pirate. "As a matter of fact, we are," his quiet voice has taken on an almost threatening edge. He stares daggers at her for a moment, trying to gauge whether or not her curiosity really was just because of his age, but he had a feeling she'd been eyeing his companions even before he'd entered the tavern. He blinks, breathing out to calm himself before continuing, "I will assume then that you are here for the same reason."More then likely, a mercenary or... pirate, or whatever she is cares more about the reward than actually getting to the bottom of this, so he'll also assume that she won' t give away information for free, hence her jumping on the fact that he and Leeta look too young to be with the rest of the party as an excuse for her looking. "And, I think that you are lying. If you really were just curious about me, then considering your rudeness just now, I doubt you would have had any qualms about blatantly staring at us. Yet you were trying to hide the fact that you were watching." He places a hand firmly on the table, and whatever liquid is left in the mugs trembles momentarily as if reacting to his presence. "So I'll ask again. Is there something of use that you would care to share with us. For the benefit of this town? Or must I pry it out of you?" He locks eyes with her, not really in attempt to intimidate her--he's long since figured out that most are not intimidated by a fourteen-year old. But, perhaps he can be persuasive.
“Ho, a problem, he doesn’t have to take that…”. Kulogall says to himself, then moves forward and stands behind Mizu, glaring at the Dragonborn. “Shame that you have no hair to rustle. Don’t let your alligator mouth overload your canary butt, my friend.” He points his hand at the Dragonborn, and a gust of air flows out of it, hopefully pushing the Dragonborn backward and into his seat. Kulogall stands up to his full height and says “This one is plenty dangerous in his own way, why don’t you keep your seat before something worse happens to you…” His shocking blue eyes glint at him, he motions the others over.
Gust : DC 15 Strength save or he is pushed 5 feet backward (and into his chair).
Mina watches as the rest of her group join come in to the Inn and she's glad to know where everyone is. Having given up on the drow, she sits there for a bit, watching the rest. As Kulogall sends her a message, she responds, Together is a good idea. This one feels like a dead end.
She's about to stand when the drow surprises her telling her by saying her friends are leaving and that she should join. She wonders if her first impression is wrong. Ignoring him, she stands and is about to head out when the standoff starts with the dragonborn. She stalks over and stands next to Kulogall, waiting to see how the dragonborn is going to react, but keeping a keen eye on her companions as well.
As soon as Rixi picks up on Mizu gritting his teeth and calling out the dragonborn, he raises an eyebrow with utter surprise whilst his gaze remains averted from both of their sight. This was a completely different demeanour he's seen from the 'sworn enemy' that he perceives as the most quiet. He quickly picks up his manner of speech too; From accusing her for staring at the trio to scratching his head and finally he demands for their answers as to why they did so, he was amazed that mange to pick up on all of the details the young Fire Genasi himself missed out somehow. It's almost as if either Raiden or Tenebris were here. Their manner of speaking and their better attention to these details is exactly the same as his own behaviour in every way. Did someone make him turn over a new leaf or something?
Clenching a fiery fist as he winces, he quickly sips down the rest of his apple juice but keeps to himself all the same. Right now, for the time being, he's doing his best not to stir up trouble. But... as he brings a hand to his chest, there's this part of him that to back up that water boy; Telling him to do so even when another two of his 'sworn enemies' have also decided to come to his aid. But... they're his enemies! He grits his teeth as he snuffs that random thought out. They were the ones who brought him down to this spiral! Why should he stand up for someone that was responsible for who he is today?! A moment of dread hits him as he then stares down on the table with mental pain in his eyes, not that anyone would even dare to read his feelings. At least, that's what he assumes.
In the end though, he chose to remain indifferent towards this; In retrospective, if Mizu was anything other than a Water Genasi, he wouldn't have withdrawn instantly and would have also backed up his claims to no end. He wanted to speakk up too but chose not to play with fire after all (zero pun intended). Even as Kulogall decided to whip a small gust, he slowly inches away from him just so he doesn't get caught in this mess in case it blows out.

Leeta, who is still clutching her precious orange juice and taking sips while Mizu and the dragonborn are talking, stares wide eyed at the later when she decides to ruffle Mizu's hair. The halfling knew of nothing that could anger the water genasi more than being treated that way. So she gulped the rest of the juice and left the jug in a nearby table and said:
- Uh oh, lady, that was a mistake. Young or not, it is not smart to anger an armed fighter. Specially if he's not alone.
She grins and adds:
- Bah! Anyway, Mizu, I'm sure this "nice" lady doesn't have any useful information to share. See? She seems to have been here drinking and doing little else. Not sure she has discovered a lot, unless it lies at the bottom of a jug.
(I rolled a persuasion to see if mocking her would make her talk, but got an 8 😔).
As Rowarin relays the message regarding visiting the mayor, he sees Kulogall approach Mizu and reacting to the Dragonborn. He notices the quietness that follows, and the quite incantation that Kulogall recites. He's casting a spell... best be ready!
A gust of wind appears to blow into the Dragonborn who has but a moment to react. Rowarin steadies himself in readiness to react. Quickly he is reminded of the past encounter he had in a tavern, which wound him getting into trouble. Hopefully this won't be the same.
Upon the spell being cast at the Dragonborn, Rowarin wants to turn his attention to the drunken men at the opposite end of the table, to perceive if they are going to react. Perception: 12
Depending on the circumstance, if they go to make a move and Rowarin notices, he will have prepared the spell Minor Illusion (to cast in between the 2 drunk men, with a whisper saying "You are pathetic.")
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The dragonborn opens her mouth to reply only to be cut off by Kulogall. She turns her head, giving the triton giving him the full view of the large scar covering her right temple, only to be met by a large gust of wind threatening to blow her and her chair away.
Despite her muscular frame, the gust of wind flattens her to her chair and pushes her across the floor.
"For heavens sake Rowarin, do you just attract this sort of trouble?" Bill sighs, "If you lot start breaking things, you might have to find a different inn. And I mean ALL of you." His gaze is directed at the Dragonborn when he says the last part.
Eyeing the two drunk men, Rowarin concludes that those to are far to drunk to be any actual threat, in fact they barely react at all to the situation. They simply stay where they are and staring dumbly at Kulogall.
The dragonborn laughs, "HAHAH! Ye do be an intrestin lot don't ye!"She pushes her chair back to the table, "Don't be worrien yerself Bill. While I do like me drink, I ain't one for pointless brawlin. HAH. Maybe you lot'll be more competition for me than me thinks." She sits back down. "I be wantin that reward, so don't be thinkin I'll give ye any leads, not nless ye have info to trade." She snickers, "But ye can trust I won't be sabotagin yer work niether. Believe me or don't, but I don't play dirty."
Mizu stares flatly at the Dragonborn. Just as he'd suspected. She's in it for the money. He sighs, then looks to Leeta and the others who'd come to his aid. ...its nice of them to back him and all... but he really hadn't been trying to start a bar fight. At least... he thought he wasn't. Looking back on it he had sort of tried to threaten her. He lets out a breath, "Fine. You might not play dirty... If that's even true. But apparently you also value coin over the lives that are at risk here." He turns his back on her, fixing his eyes instead on the space ahead of him--he stands there for a moment, still a little angry about the whole--hair ruffling and whatnot, but he takes a moment to just calm down.
Then he looks to Kulogall and Rowaran. However, instead of thanking them he just nods. It seems he's gone back to his usual, quiet self. Turning to Leeta he says, "Do you want to go with them to the mayor, or do you want to go to the blacksmith. The latter sounds more useful to me." His eyes flick up to the others, knowing they would have heard him as well if they were paying attention. He doesn't want to split the group too much, especially considering that they have a someone of fey blood with them. His eyes drift to Mina, clearly thinking that she needs to have at least one person with her at all times.
Kulogall nods to Mizu, then says back to the Dragonborn “Why don’t you just stay here and have a few more rounds. We’ll let you know when we sort it out.” He turns on the Dragonborn, ignoring the rest of her comments and walks across the room to Mina, saying “Are you ready? Let’s walk together.” He looks sternly at the Drow, saying “Unless you have anything else to add? Are you looking to help… or to harm the process? Or do I have to blow you out of this place to have you tell us what you know? Why are you watching us, what do you know about these disappearances!” His eyes glower and he grips his spear tight, knuckles on his webbed hands gripping tight and becoming light green.
Seeing things were starting to get a little heated, Leeta began to adopt a defensive position, bending the knees a little and her fists ready to both attack or deflect - whatever was necessary - but when Kulogall sent the dragonborn flying backwards she couldn't help herself and burst into laughter.
- Ahahaha ... I'm sorry, but that was too funny - she said, grinning - I like that magic, Kulogall, I hope I get to see it more often.
Still recovering from her laughter, and removing some tears from her eyes, she turned her back to that group and answered Mizu:
- You're probably right. But I think we should better stick together. Learn to work as a team and all that, you know? Know the rest a little better? We could go to the mayor and then to the blacksmith. Come on, cheer up, surely they'll be nicer than the lady back there.
She stops for a moment, and the adds:
- Did you see her face while flying backwards? Hahahaha, man, that was epic.
A massive sigh of relief can be heard from the Fire Genasi paladin after picking up the fact that neither side don't want to start a fight. Whilst he didn't actually see what happened, he really was intending on bolting out the door should the spark be ignited. The thing is though, Mizu is technically right. Valuing money over people... that's not his ideology either, especially after years of commanding a group of former misfit warriors to fame and glory. He values the needs of people over everything else, barring his own, heartless desires of revenge...
After taking a moment to gather his thoughts, he turns his fiery gaze down towards the table's wooden surface, when he also hears Leeta giving out yet another piece of her mind...
"Then what are we waiting for? If there's nothing else, let's move." He replies to Leeta with absolutely no trace of emotion left in his voice; In reality, he was just as impatient as the others to leave this place and actually begin the hunt for real. In doing so, he gives a polite bow to the waiters for the food before he shifts his glaive onto his back and leaves, all the while keeping a good distance from Rowarin, Mina and Kulogall if they had already left beforehand.

Noting that the men weren't a threat, and that the situation has calmed, Rowarin lowers his guard. Turning to Bill, he says "Bill, I honestly don't know how I am always in these situations! Talk about wrong place, wrong time!"
Rowarin glides towards the door in a few short paces, and holding the door open, he turns back "Don't worry, I promise I aim to be good."Not that ever seems to go my way, he thinks to himself. And with that, he steps outside into the fresh air, closing the door behind him.
He takes in the view of the square, noting the faces that walk around him. I do hope my parents are alright. I must remember to check on them later.
He leans against the side, pulling out his spellbook to read through whilst he waits for his companions to come outside, hopefully heading to the mayors also.
Mizu sighs, "Fine." He moves to follow Rixian and Rowarin, but pauses and waits to see if Mina and Kulogall come too... seems like the triton has decided to use his intimidation tactics on another suspicious individual. He doesn't ask if they are going to come or not, instead just waiting to see what sort of reaction they get. If they take too long, he'll leave Soma (who promptly perches on Mina's shoulder) with them and simply head out to meet up with Rixian and Rowarin.
Mina is about to head out to the mayor's house with the rest when Kulogall, apparently riled up from the dragonborn starts questioning the drow she thought was a dead end. Not wanting to leave her friends side, she turns away from the watching her new friends leave and stares at the drow to see his reaction to Kulogall.
Mina gives a little start when the Soma lands on her shoulder, but seeing the bird, she smiles and reaches for a little snack in her pocket to feed it.
The dragonborn snickers, but says nothing in response to Mizu.
The drow's eyes dark between Kulogall, Mina, and the rest of the party before landing back on the triton. Anger flashes in his eyes, and his right hand twitches. Clearly, he feels threatened, though it seems more due to the fact that he's outnumbered than just from Kulogall. His posture resembles that of a cornered wolf. He grits his teeth, "So long as you don't keep asking for trouble, you have nothing to fear from me." He growls. "I keep tabs on everyone who comes through here."Abruptly, he stands up. "I cannot help you with your mission. Not until you've proven that you can handle it. Right now, all I can offer you is a warning." His eyes flash dangerously, "There's a reason there are so few adventurers investigating this mess, and it's not because they haven't come. Keep your wits about you. Watch your backs, and watch the shadows." With that, he turns on his heel and stalks upstairs presumably to his rooms.
During this confrontation, the rest of the group filed out of the inn and towards the mayor's house. It's not a long walk, just a couple blocks past the town hall. Rowarin remembers that building well. While it was used for town meetings, it was also used for festivals and town dances. Now, it's looking a bit rundown. It's not in disrepair, but it clearly hasn't been used much lately.
Arriving at the mayor's house and knock on the door. You all hear distinct, hurried footsteps rush over. Then a tired sounding voice asks from behind the door, "Who's there?"

The dragonborn opens her mouth to reply only to be cut off by Kulogall. She turns her head, giving the triton giving him the full view of the large scar covering her right temple, only to be met by a large gust of wind threatening to blow her and her chair away.
Strength save: 13
Ye do be an intrestin lot don't ye!" She pushes her chair back to the table, "Don't be worrien yerself Bill.
Intimidation : 23

Rowarin glides towards the door in a few short paces, and holding the door open, he turns back "Don't worry, I promise I aim to be good." Not that ever seems to go my way, he thinks to himself.
"I keep tabs on everyone who comes through here." Abruptly, he stands up.
