She dreamed of her early childhood, when she was barely 6, her mother giving her a small wooden toy horse that she cherished, but it made her father angry that it brought happiness, and both of them were beaten, even when Cora tried to hide under the washtub, her father with his club thundering up the stairs. It was there she learned FEAR.
She dreamed of waking up in the Temple where her mother abandoned her at age 9, where she had no friends or discipline, and multiple times tried to run away, each time getting beaten by street gangs and having the Temple cleric put her back together again. She was a wild animal, unkempt and untamed. It was there she learned ANGER.
She dreamed of when she was 15 and homeless, and killed 4 boys in a back alley with her bare hands. Dying, that's the day the Commander found her, and brought her in to the Academy, where her mind, body, and soul were fixed, trained, focused, and refined into a governmental precision weapon. It was there she learned DISCIPLINE.
She dreamed of her Graduation, where at the brave age of 18, now a woman, she earned her swords and her uniform. She learned to control the raging beast inside her and was part of a family where people respected her, counted on her, and she was able to start a new life free of pain, and fear. It was then she learned CONFIDENCE.
She dreamed of the time she threw it all away, at the age of 25, when her pride got the best of her and she got her partner killed by trying to con a crime lord. She spent her entire career as an officer above the law, but it would all be taken away. Bribing, beating up, swindling, killing, and conning criminal scum to take advantage of them, eventually she got caught and lost everything she ever had. It was then she learned AGONY.
The memories swirled in her mind and all she wanted to do was scream.
(Sorry Super but Bennett is knocked unconscious since you were frightened and near the armored man. The damage is taken at the start of your turn. Its Ashley's turn and to clarify what kind of enemy you guys are fighting its a level 20 paladin.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ashley is afraid. The flashback of the first soldier she couldn't save repeating in her mind. She feels the energy crash over her and the pain is enough to bring back, even if just a little. In her panic of the scene before her she will take the Dodge and tries to snap herself back to reality and break the fear this memory has on her.
Wisdom save yes ? 20

((A level 20 paladin!?! Duuuuude, wtf did Crispy get us in to? LOL! I hope everyone has their new characters ready. We are gonna get dominated. I imagine Karra coming out like "Whats up guys?... guys???"))
(Alright, to be honest, I am aiming to knock everyone out right now cause you technically threatened his group. And this combo pretty much lets me knock you all out.)
Conquering Presence - As an action, force chosen creatures within 30 ft. to make a WIS saving throw (DC 19) or they become frightened for 1 minute. Creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns.
Aura of Conquest- While you are conscious, all frightened creatures within 10 ft. have their speed reduced to 0 and take 10 psychic damage if starting their turn in the aura. [18th] Range increases to 30 ft.
Those that managed to survive the blast are attacked by the images they saw. Bearing down upon them with phantasmal weapons as it phases through them, leaving no mark upon their body but their brain registers the pain it would cause. As you all fade into unconsciousness, you see the man put his weapon away and return to his group, then you all black out.
(Karra comes back after a few minutes.)
The half orcs are taking the unconscious party into a house, putting them in beds. Jebb stands before the house as they haul Aurelia into the house, "You just missed it, your friends here just got destroyed by that group of four, well more like the one just knocked them all out." (Feel free to ask him about the statue. The rest of the group is forced to take a short rest and everyone is awarded with a level, welcome to level four!)
((If we take damage while we are knocked out don't we fail a death saving throw?))
(You would If I was trying to kill you, but I just want to knock you all out. So technically you're all stable since anyone can make their damage lethal or not.)
(Guess I came back at a bad time? Who knew splitting the party would be bad for the larger group :-p )
Karra, seeing the others being rushed into a house goes over to the half-orcs. "Hmm, the other group did this? Which one, the armour one? Robed one? Maybe hobgoblin?" His questions come out with contemplation, he is obviously assessing how badly things went and how little it probably would've changed if he was there. "Hmm, they came for relic. Saw statue in the caves, human man, held sword aloft, named flare, but in dwarf tongue." He says. "Had something where heart would be in someone's chest. Think they may want to do evil with it, yes?" He watches as the group is placed into beds, not interrupting, but keeping an eye out to make sure their possessions aren't mysteriously disappearing between then and when they wake up.
(I think it just keeps track of how many hit die you use, tested it on Bennett to see if it would recover his health. It didn't but did keep track of how many was used. So just post the hit die to keep track of how much you recover.)

(Don't think it would've changed much but you were right about the crypt.)
The half orcs don't touch your companions belongings as the old man Jebb stands outside. He waves at you to come over, "It be the armored one that beat your friends up. From the way my boys tell me, he bested them by some sort of magic. Made most of them go hysterical. Then blow them down with a wave of magic he did." Jebb pauses for a moment as you told him of the statue, "Hmm, sounds like some sort of shrine to the person. I gotta see the statue myself to know more. Why don't you see to your friends while I go check it out."
The half orcs just place your party in beds as they look over their bodies, mostly just bruised. After a half hour, Jebb returns, "Well now, statue be a monument to a dead tyrant. Thought that the Cevisas cult died out decades ago...Don't know what could have been in the statue myself, but I do remember tales of the tyrant. How he conquered the mountains to the south and made an army out of the clans down there. He would've marched on the whole world if it wasn't for a pair of paladins. Reason why the clans are broken up down south, fear of an unstoppable army."
He sighs as he calls over a half-orc. They talk for a moment and the half orc goes off to Jebb's house. "I didn't see the sword you were talking about. And I don't know what they did there, so I can't call it evil or good. Just bad for business if I leave it open. Don't want any other adventurers or whatever coming here to check it out. All my workers are half orcs, and if I can assume they're as hot headed as your friend over there," He points to Crispy, "They'll be fighting them thinking they're working for the cult. And I don't want that."
The half orc returns, holding a small chest. He sets it beside Jebb, "So you all can take your reward, just don't mention this to the guard back at Cresthall, don't say anything about how the cult might be coming back. Tell your friends whatever you want, just don't have them starting a crusade." He shoves the chest to you, "You can stay till your friends wake up then you all get out. Still mad at some of you for not listening, but I ain't black heartened enough to just kick you all out when you're hurt."

Did we all die? Game over, thanks for playing? =P
(Well, Karra will have a weird and short story to tell his grandkids. But no, I don't think so. Not sure whose turn it is, though.)
I can't be dead, I live for another 2000 years, at least. We made a deal! (/shakes fist at the Abyss.)
