Steel is able to collect both the withered heart and the key out of the box. Still no reaction from the poised traps. Ricos machine returns to you still intact.
"Well, that was easier than I thought it would be but maybewe should move on up the corridor in case that acid does drop. What was in the box by the way?"
"Things seem to be going pretty well. Do we want to check the door on the south side?"
"Just this," says Rico holding up the withered heart. She hands the heart to Nikkitch to look at. Things that used to be alive are more his area of expertise, rather than her own.

The corpse's voice croaks from the kenku as he hands the heart back. "Not yet."
He takes a risk for curiosity's sake, walking out to the statue himself. He starts with a single step into the chamber.
Neither the statue nor the acid seem to be bothered by Nikks approach.
Meanwhile, Jaya and Rico thoroughly examine the heart. It seems like this organ has been magically enchanted somehow. It seems old, corpselike, but is not entirely falling apart like it should. It belonged to a humanoid - and upon seeing the telltale signs of an additional internal chamber solely for filtering out ash particulates, you're able to determine that it must have belonged to a tiefling.
It has been cut out or separated from the rest of the body with a very sharp implement - the vena canvae and arteries show minimal tear where the separation happened. Someone was very careful and/or enjoyed their work.
Nikk can spot no chisel marks or signs of wear and tear on this statue, as opposed to the ones you've seen outside in the hallway. The fishlike face shows a furious expression, the mouth is filled with rows of sharp teeth. You see no reason why this couldn't be a petrified creature.
Rico certainly finds the heart to be the work of necromancy and not of the benevolent kind. You find no immediate practical use for the withered dead thing. However, there is a thin magical connection here, so you do know that this could be attuned to.
Nikk puts a pin in this room in his head. There's a chance the acid isn't here for them, per say. His curiosity runs wild, but he can do nothing as of now.
Pisgah asks "Are we ready to go hit the south door?" He then begins to walk across the hall of statues to the door in the south wall. He takes a listen at the door with the ear horn, PERCEPTION roll 21.
if he doesn't hear anything, he will take a look for traps, INVESTIGATION roll of 18, and then open the door.
Pisgah does not hear anything beyond and spots no traps, so the door is opened.
Beyond, you see a sizeable room room full of cobwebs enshrouding rows of old weapon racks, many of which have collapsed under their own weight. Pisgah counts 2 spears, 4 javelins, a pike, a warhammer, a morningstar and many other weapon pieces that have become scrap metal and splintered wood. A door in the south wall has a handaxe embedded in it. That door is open and beyond you see a small room with 5-foot-diameter stone sharpening wheel set into the floor.
Seeing the handaxe embedded in the door, while the other weapons are damaged to the point of being unusable, Pisgah walks to the door to inspect the handaxe. Investigation roll of Nat 20 for a 21. Hoping to find possibly an enchanted weapon, he tries to pull it out of the door.
The weapon is well crafted, but ordinary. It's made in the style of the reghed barbarians to the north, the head held in the haft by a thick saplike substance hardened to the consistency of stone. Pulling it out the door is no problem for Pisgah. Some wood splinters fall to the ground.
On a History roll of 5, I am feeling pretty good that Pisgah even knew about the tribe that would have made the handaxe.
Pisgah pulls the axe from the door, compares it to the one on his left hip and replaces the axe with the one he pulled from the door. He offers the other axe to any other members of the team if they would like to have it. If not, he will slide it into his boot.
Turning to Nikk, "Well, we have exhausted all of the areas in this section other than whatever is behind the trapped double doors. Can you disarm the trap?"
Rico interrupts, "Unless Nikk is going to disarm the traps with a spell, I think I would be the best at disarming the traps. Though any thing Nikk can tell me about the trap would help."
OOC: Rico has both Arcana and Thieve's tools familiarity for disarming magical traps.

Jaya examines the heart, trying to ascertain what creature it may have belonged to and how ‘fresh’ it is?
I’ll try Medicine: 20 (not natural)
Rico will assist to give Jaya advantage on the roll (she's also trained in medicine).

Nikkitch examines the statue thoroughly, hoping to find some indication of the traps' trigger, or a way to determine if the statue truly lives.
[Perception: 18]
[Passive Investigation]
Meanwhile Rico will try to figure out what sort of magic is on this heart... Arcana 15

Everyone: An additional 250 XP for getting the withered heart out of the box without anything bad happening.

[OoC: what's the door made of?]
Like most other doors here, unless mentioned otherwise, it's made of sturdy wood fitted with iron hinges and handles and does not have a lock.
