Dissatisfied with the answer he got, Talien walks from the bed where the cultist is restrained. "I see we're not going to get anything else out of this one, though, your tactic was incredibly helpful Azrial, thank you. Let's wait to see what the Governor has to say, and convene with him on what we have learned."
At the mention of the governor, Escobert the Red reenters the dungeon cell and cocks his head at you all, "Well? How's our guest?" he grunts.
"Governor Nighthill would like to speak with you all, he's in the main yard out front. Me and the guards will check in with this... fellow. I'll catch up later to compare," Escobert grins menacingly and cracks his knuckles. You notice his heavy armor has been doffed and his muscles abound beneath a leather apron. His hands and knuckles look gnarled and well used, thick callouses coating his palms and fingers. Two human guards in simple studded leather armor with short swords at their sides stand at the doorway and bow their heads to you as you exit.

Azrial giddily prances about, pleased with the compliment he received; “Thank you kindly Druid! Oh my I am so excited to speak with the Governor; I have made more friends today than I have ever made in my whole life!” Still prancing a bit he makes his way through the doorway very happily oblivious to the torture that would greet the Cultist in a few short minutes.

Up in the main yard the Governor is pacing about, chatting with folks and glancing up from time to time. When he sees you all enter he turns and bustles toward you, his slung arm bouncing excitedly.
"Well, what did you learn? Who are they? Why are they here?!" he blurts.

Kyros stepped forward to answer Governer Nighthill. "They call themselves The Cult of the Dragon, and their leaders here are a woman name Frulam, named the Wearer of Purple, and her right hand minion is called Langdedrosa Cyanwrath, whom the Cult minions find to be particularly intimidating. The minions themselves seemed to be mostly comprised of Human cultists and scrawny Kobolds, at least as far as we've encountered.
As for their purpose here, this attack is merely a ploy to allow them to pillage Greenest. They seek to steal as many valuables as possible, to build a great hoard, so they can summon the Dragon Goddess, Tiamat, to give her form on this plane. This, of course would be disastrous to the entire realm, given that she is an immense being of great evil and terrible power.
As for the dragon overhead, while such a threat should not be discounted or ignored, it seems relatively disinterested in whatever task it has been appointed. It roars as a blustering monster, seeking to sow fear and discord, when in reality it could attack and easliy cause much more destruction to this fair city."
The Dragonborn paused to let the Governer absorb this information, watching the dragon wheel through the smoking sky.
"Cult of the Dragon. I have certainly heard of them, but to summon Tiamat?! Insanity! I don't think I would treat that dragon so idly, either, sir. He appeared first and not only lit fires across the town, but has been snatching livestock just outside in the farmlands all night! But I thank you for the information, we will certainly do what we can with it." The governor states.
"I have word from some of my guard that there is a group of townsfolk that are in ne-" he begins again, but is interrupted by shouting and clanging from the west wall.
"They've breached the sally port! To arms! Defenders to the west wall!" shouts a guard while clanging a militia bell. As you spin in that direction a large group of guards are converging on a gate that has been pushed in, a small band of Cult of the Dragon followers spilling into the keep. The governor whips his neck back at you and shouts, "Help them seal the gate!"

A Call to Arms!! Yet another chance to prove himself, and Kyros' spirit soared to meet the challenge. "Come, Friends! We have work to do!" He roared, turning on the spot and unsheathing his greatsword. "Defend the Keep!!!" The Dragonborn wasted no time, sprinting towards the breached gate and would be invaders.
Here we go again I suppose, Talien thought to himself as the guard feverishly rang the bell. "I am in no shape to rush headlong into another battle; Azrial, have you any healing magic you can assist me with?" As he speaks to the Cleric, Talien draws his bow and nocks an arrow, aiming toward the breached port waiting for a clear shot at the encroaching threat.
(OOC: I'd like to hold a shot that I will release as soon as I have a clear path at an enemy, at which time I will roll an attack and damage. I'd roll now but I'd like to see what the enemies are so I can choose which I shoot at if multiple enemies emerge at once).
Archibald started to hurry along behind Kyros, but a thought kept nagging at him and he rushed back to the governor. "Governor, does the keep have any sort of vault or treasury? If the cultists are after valuables, then what better time to try and make off with them than while the guards are distracted by a diversionary force?"

Archibald - Human Rogue - lvl 1 "Hoard of the Dragon Queen"
The governor looks, stunned, at Archibald as he zips back to him, "Why... yes, but it's deep within the walls... I'll have Escobert look into it right away! Thank you!" He rushes into the keep proper to find the dwarf.
As Kyros and the others rush into the small ready room that houses the sally port, a 10' by 20' room built just for this sort of breach and counter attack, they are greeted by a cultist in black robes with a staff, four kobolds, and a large, lumbering lizard that sways as it bashes its way into the room! It is low to the ground, with spiny fins lining its spinal trail and has a distinctly draconic head. Its large claws clack against the cobblestone as it roars a threat!
One of the kobolds breaks past the throng of warriors and runs headlong into the keep yard, dagger aloft and a tiny bellow emanating from its miniature frame. Seeing it is now alone, Talien releases his readied shot into the small, unfortunate soul.
After Talien's shot, please roll initiatives! Kyros is in the room, Talien and Archibald are in the middle of the yard, approximately 65' from the western ready room door. Azrial and Lias are about 40' away from it as they were not engaged with the governor when the alarm sounded. The kobold that snuck past everyone is about 20' out the door (halfway between it and the bard and cleric). There are other guards and warriors about as well, some of them within the ready room already.
Kyros arrived promptly at the sally port gatehouse and took up a ready stance, with greatsword poised before him, as the cultists poured in from the exterior of the Keep with some great beast in tow..
Initiative : 11
Kyros spared a moment to see if could recall any beasts of similar form.
As the kobold realizes it made a mistake it turns to see an arrow zip past it. It yelps and jumps as another zips beside it. Talien and Archibald both missed!
Kyros - it reminds you of a giant lizard...
Azrial - after healing Talien (which you missed a bracket so the roll doesn't show) you can attack the kobold out in the open. It has not taken any damage yet.
Turn order is as follows: Talien, Lias, Kyros, Archibald, Azrial, enemies! (I used the two bow shots and healing as a 'surprise round' where the enemies attacked the other guards and you responded. Now it is first turn and Talien is up!)

Seeing the large beast through an opening in the doorway, Talien takes a difficult shot. The lizard snarls as the arrow pierces its hide, lashing its heavy tail about.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lias takes a deep breath. Still convinced that she knows more Draconic than she does, she casts Vicious Mockery at the giant lizard, this time emitting a noise equivalent to Kyros sitting on her bagpipes.
