'General rule of potion testing is to pour a single drop onto a spoon or finger and taste it.' Friedrych says as he reaches for the scroll case. 'Knock yourself out.'
He carefully opens the case to have a look at the content within.
As the crimson liquid is picked up, it glimmers with a faint warm glow. The group recognises it as some sort of healing potion, though its potency is not known.
Friedrych opens up the scroll case. Inside is a single piece of parchment inked with mystical runes. He reckons he could decipher what magic it holds with a couple of minutes of checking (DC 14 Arcana check).
OOC: if it's on the list, I should recognise it without a roll. If I try to cast it when it's of a higher level than I normally can, then I need to roll an ability check using my spellcasting ability to determine whether I cast it successfully.
In any case, nice spell to have ^^ Btw, what's the number on silver and gold?
'This could come in handy in a pinch.' Friedrych remarks as he slides the scroll back into the case. 'Or fetch a pretty penny, whatever we need.'
Without much further fanfare, Friedrych quickly packs his things and takes his place next to Mr. Migello on the coach box. 'How far and how long 'til civilisation, sir?'
(OOC: If it is a higher level than you can cast, I put it as a spell you are not familiar with. Please don't rules lawyer, I know the standard rules, this is how I am running it.)
Mr. Migello nods, "Only a day or two of travel left overall. We should be out of the swamps by nightfall." He takes his seat behind the reins again. The party gathers their belongings and are back to following along the swamp trail.
(Anyone wanting to make survival checks to keep a good trail, feel free to.)
The group continues along the boggy paths, Borg checking ahead of the group. As it gets to some more treacherous areas, Mr. Migello takes a 10-foot pole out from a hook on the interior of the carriage to allow for prodding the ground ahead.
The remainder of the day continues without any major incidents. It appears that the bullywugs are giving the area a wide birth for the meantime, none of them coming to challenge for the weaponry. As it gets to mid-afternoon, Mr. Migello points ahead. "Not too far now, but that looks like the end of the swamp. There should be an inn a few miles down from here." He chuckles to himself as he takes out a piece of travel jerky. "I guess this has been quite an adventure then. Just another day and the mission should be complete."
At the end of the swamplands, it become lightly spread with treelines, large country fields strewn ahead with a gradual incline up a hill. "I suppose with them fancy things you got from them lizards my pay seems a pittance."
(As for money amounts, I'm basically waiting until the group sits down to share it out. It won't be that long since you'll be probably stopping at the inn on business expenses.)
"Not at all Sir, your pay is very generous, we just did our job to make sure the swamp was clear and from now on the lizard folk won't come near your wagon as long as it has your ensignia on it's side. Just part of the guilds and the crimson fang way, we look to assure satisfaction."

The group continues onwards to find a smaller, quainter tavern than the one they were at three nights ago. Mr. Migello slows the cart down as they approach. "This place doesn't have as good security. One of you will need to be keeping an eye on the carriage at all times overnight." He informs the others as they begin to make out the sign which appears to be some sort of axe-shape turned into a fountain. In common the script of THE LEAKY AXE is set above the doorway.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Friedrych quietly sits next to Mr. Migello reading and contemplating the spell scroll. At the sight of the inn, he leaps off of the cart to allow Mr. Migello to stable it. 'Ah, a place to sleep with walls and a roof.' He says happily. After the hustle and bustle of getting all their stuff off the cart and into the inn and searching his memory if the Leaky Axe is famed for anything, he addresses the nearest bartender/servant/innkeeper. 'Pardon me but would you have a brass brazier I could borrow for the night?'

(Are we sure Friedrych hasn't written a tavern review book or something? ;-P )
Friedrych:
The Leaky Axe, a small country tavern that resides just under a week's travel south of Greenholden. It neighbours a local swamp and is a stop for travellers before they make their way through the boggy land. It has been within the same family for generations, a series of halflings known as the Terrybrundles. It is known locally for its unique fountain and its specialist whiskey that is specially imported by distant relatives of the owners.
The name of the tavern comes from an old tale of a woodcutter in the area during a drought season. The crops were shrivelling up as it looked like it would be almost impossible to get any new produce for the winter stores. The woodcutter however had a vision gifted by a hag where he took his axe and climbed to the tallest tree in the nearby forest. From there he dropped and bifurcated the entire trunk in one fell swing. As it struck the roots, a geyser of water rose forth, causing the land to become fertile once again. However, the axe continuously leaked water. In order to stop it from flooding his home, the woodcutter buried the axe where the tree was cut, but it turned the nearby land into a swamp.
"Well I'm sure you can manage shifts." Mr. Migello says as he begins to tether up the horses. "I'll meet you inside, open a tab for me again."
The group heads inside to find a quaint country tavern with plenty of small sectioned off areas for people to drink with some privacy, yet having enough visibility towards what appears to be a small performing platform for performances.
Friedrych approaches the bar to find a halfling woman of stout stature wearing a open topped blouse to show her ample bosom is happily serving a fairly inebriated human man. She looks over to Friedrych after his enquiring. "Well howdy, sweetheart." She says to the warlock, "Take a seat and we'll see what we can do for you. You wantin' something to drink? I think we might have an old one in the storeroom, I'll get Darri to go look for it in a bit."
Walking in, Akaas marvels at the interior of the tavern. "How wonderful," he says, beaming. "It looks like we might be entertained." He looks around for any sign of an entertainer.
Borg hops on to the wagon and keeps guard, she will check around the sides, to make sure there isn't anyway in before sitting on the back of the wagon, making sure to keep an eye out on the entrance at the front.

Mr. Migello follows into the tavern a moment later, speaking with the halfling lady as if they are well acquainted. He returns to the group a moment later. "We have rooms for the night, though it'll be two a room. Also feel free to order some food, it's all on me. I'll ask for something hot to be taken out for those on watch."
As the group is planning on what to eat and drink another halfling, probably about 15 summers in age, wanders over to the table with a large dusty brazier. He grunts as he puts it down. "Ma said someone asked for this?" He says.
