Borg joins the group, explaining that the staff are taking care of the cart for the meantime. "Well, at least someone's keeping an eye on it." Mr. Migello says. "I suppose since you did well through the swamp, and meaning I have some passage protection in the future, that dessert is in order; on my tab."
The meal is finished as the party take their rest, switching guard roles through the night every couple of hours until dawn breaks over the horizon. Mr. Migello pays for the stay and ensures the group has a tasty meal before headed out into the early rays of the summer morning.
"Right, shouldn't be much further." Mr. Migello tells the group. "We should be there a little after noon."
(Right, think it's about time to finish this travelling bit)
The party continues along the trail with Mr. Migello, going past the forests nearby as the sun begins to ascend in the sky. As they are travelling there is a point of interest about an hour before noon, as a large elk with a shiny silver coat and large glass-like antlers is seen jumping across the trail, rushing towards the forest. "Well, there's something you don't see everyday." Mr. Migello says, watching its speed as it zips across the land in plain view. "Wonder what that beauty is doing out in the open like this?"
The wondrous creature is almost like an enigma to the party, no one recalling such a majestic looking animal in the story books of old.
"Well perhaps you might see it on your way home tomorrow." Mr. Migello chuckles as they continue on. "Gotta love the open road, there's so much wonder to see in this world."
(Anyone want to deviate and try and follow the creature?)
When Friedrych's turn for guard duty comes, he'll take with him the bronze brazier the innkeeper has lent him. Sitting down cross-legged next to the cart, he positions the brazier in such a manner that any smoke coming from it would harmlessly drift out of the stable. After dumping in a handful of coals he took with him from the common room, Friedrych uses his tinderbox to start a fire. When sufficiently lit, he reaches into a pocket to retrieve a bundle of herbs and tosses them into the brazier. They smolder and burn yet do not turn to ash nor produce any smoke. While he stares into the fire, Friedrych softly begins to recite a familiar incantation.
A good hour later, though with the warmth of the brazier and the reciting he did not notice it, Friedrych speaks the final verses. Sparks and embers erupt from the brazier, turning the burning herbs into a miniature fireworks show as a thick, black smoke forms. Moments later, the smoke begins to swirl and coalesce into into a rudimentary miniature humanoid shape. A head, two arms, two legs and a puffy cloud torso hover in front of Friedrych. He takes a deep breath and blows away the smokey figure. The black clouds disappear and reveal a tiny little girl with bronze coloured skin, almond eyes and fiery red hair, clad in a red ruffle dress who was held aloft by two pairs of dragonfly wings.
'Hello, Lulu.' Friedrych smiled at his familiar. 'Welcome back.'
Before answering her master, the imp-turned-sprite takes a couple of moments to take a look at herself. She flutters up to a dirty window and cleans a tiny portion of it to get a better view of herself. Her eyes grow wide and her smile broadens as she turns around and flies towards Friedrych, almost crashing into his face.
'Thank you, thank you, thank you!' Lulu squees as she flies circles around Friedrych's head. 'Oh, I just love these wings!' It seems that having two pair of wings has made her more dexterous and manoeuvrable in the air, something she takes full advantage of to zipline back and forth a couple of times around the cart. 'What is this?' She asks as she pauses for a moment to pull on her new garment.
'That would be clothes.'Friedrych replies.'More specifically, that would be a dress.'
'I've never worn a... dress.'Lulu says as she twists and turns herself to get a better look at her dress from every possible angle. 'Only high-ranking devils wear things like this and mostly it's just armour for battle. Or something with way too many colours.'
'Well, it looks good on you.' Friedrych laughs, not noticing Lulu's blush against her bronze skin. 'Come, our shift is nearly over. Let's go wake the next one for guard duty and try to get some shut-eye before dawn.'
Pleasantly humming, Lulu follows Friedrych inside as he turns over the brazier, stamps out the ashes and carries it with him. ---------------- The following day, Friedrych returns the brazier to the innkeeper and hands her another golden coin for her kind assistance. After travel preparations are completed, he reintroduces Lulu to the group as her new form might raise a question or two. He then takes his usual seat sitting next to Mr Migello for the next part of the journey. He is mostly preoccupied with keeping an eye on Lulu who is testing out just how her new form differentiates form her usual one. Friedrych was about to call her when Mr Migello draws his attention to the shiny elk crossing their path.
Fascinated by the sight of it, Friedrych tries to remember ever hearing, reading or otherwise know something about this majestic beast.

OOC: so what happened to Crispy and our barbarian friend? Did they drop? Because I checked the campaign page and we went from 12 players to 9.
The innkeeper offer to sell the brazier to Friedrych. "I barely use these things, since we've got a nice warm fireplace." She mentions. (Effectively that 1gp allows for Friedrych to keep the brazier for future use.)
(Back to the road)
Friedrych tracks back through his thoughts about this majestic beast that just galloped past. Being quite the learned man, he recalls a couple of stories that slot in between his extensive knowledge of taverns and their histories. Such strange looking animals are said to be hosts to the guardian spirits of nature, usually to a landmark that is nearby, like a stone formation or an ancient mystical tree.
(As for Crispy/Finlan, yes it appears they have dropped. Once this mission is finished and people are back, I'll talk about groups between the two as the other has been pretty empty recently as well.)
Continuing onwards, the cart travels for a few more hours without any incident. There are some wild animals that are spotted rushing around in the open fields.
"There she is." Mr. Migello says, pointing towards a homely looking village. "Hassalet, and just in time for dinner, too." He chuckles as he cracks the reins, getting the party to get closer to the village.
The cart rides into the quaint village just an hour or so before sundown. There are about a score of buildings around the area, with some farms off in the distance. A pair of posts outside of the village hold an archway with a welcoming phrase high above where the carriage rides through. "Yep, this place is pretty nice. All homely and quiet." Mr. Migello tells the others. "Though there's some rich folk down here who retired from the busy lives of the city; they keep good coin for my bringing of wares. Speaking of which, I believe we came through with everything unharmed... Well, the cart might need a bit of attention." He chuckles to himself. "Never thought we'd end up making allies with a lizardfolk clan, though. That was quite an experience. So, my fellow employees, if you're planning on staying the night, there's a place not too far from where I'm stopping for the night, The Green Diamond, it should be able to cater for all of you."
Akaas holds up a piece of wood he's been whittling for quite a bit of the day and analyzes his work. Looking at it, you can see it is some kind of bird, but the shape is still very rough. The ancient halfling looks around at the village and smiles.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chetin bows his head, "I wish you well in your endeavors, Mr.Migello. Thank you for letting us ride with you." Chetin waits for the group to assemble and head out to the tavern. He'll take a look around the town and see what there is to shop/do there.
"Well I should be thanking you for stopping those frog monsters from taking my wares." Mr. Migello chuckles. "If I'm needing travel through Greenholden again, I'll make sure to ask for you lot."
The group departs for The Green Diamond, a smaller tavern than the ones they found along the path, only slightly larger than a normal house in these parts. It has a series of green window panes in rhomboid patterns and ivy decorating its exterior. Headed in there appears to be around a half dozen patrons right now, though it looks ready to accept the major inflow for the evening. The windows take in the evening light as it leaves a strong green hue to parts of the tavern.
A portly human woman appears to be running the bar, her frizzy orange hair tied back into a bushy tail. "Oh, welcome." She says with a smile. "From out of town, are ye? Well, welcome! Grab a seat and we'll see what we can get ye."
