[[ Boy, Eduardo sure is acting strange. I'm sure nothing there will come back to haunt Macario and Argos later. ]]
As the young tiefling walks away, Macario watches and quietly remarks to Argos, "You'd think he'd be a bit more grateful having had his life saved twice this morning. Wonder what's up with that." He stands still for a moment before looking over at the elf, a crooked grin spreading across his face and a green flame appearing in his empty palm. "Wanna go burn some masks?"
The voice listens. "How noble," the voice says sadly.
You feel your thoughts start to fracture. You feel yourself in one step and another. It is almost like a split screen, looking through different mirrors. You see the world change. Stepping in one foot on one world you see yourself fighting the barghest and in the other you see yourself about to cast Speak with Animals as a ritual. Moving forward into the scene you find yourself smacking glass, but yet you feel you can influence only one reality. Just by willing it you can move this third-person projected you.
"What is it that you are feeling?"
The voice asks of you.
"What is it that you are going to do?"

((hehe )) ((also thank you!!! it was nice! it was in Williamsburg. got so much leftovers))
"Thanks!" Said Mr. Tiefling waves back without turning around. The doors slam shut as he goes through. But then seconds later he is pushed out by three people wearing said black masks. Macario, you remember that the original masks for the party were white. Something about the lightning or maybe where they stand but you can't see any sign of eyes.
"It wasn't me!"Eduardo holds his hands up, then turns his head to see you guys. "Aw darn it."The dog is already leashed and muzzled. The guards tugs on the leash tighter and the shadow mastiff whines. They are all wearing mismatched attire. One looks to have just been swimming as his hair is all wet and he is wearing just swimshorts. The other is wearing a semi-formal causal dress, and the last is in pajamas (at this hour?).
Macario sees the black masks and hears the synchronized voices, remembering the vision he saw through the mask in Sesisah’s prison. He lets out a deep sigh, and then draws his sword while willing his shadowy armor (symbiotic entity) into existence around him. “I really miss that breakfast buffet right now. Hope you’re ready for another fight Argos.”
“I’m assuming whatever is going on with the masks. And the escapee.” Gods this elf had a thick skull. “Look. Something weird is going on with the gods, with this hotel, and with us. We’re involved. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, but we are. The sooner you can get that through your head and be ready for fights or magic or monsters or gods, the easier this is all going to be and the sooner we can figure it all out, okay?”
The voice listens. "How noble," the voice says sadly.

in the weird time reversal place: brodir heals righty for 5 hp, says "come, my friend. it is not safe. you must escape some other way." and runs out with righty in tow
The group of black masks stare at you during this confrontation. Their arms hang limply by their sides, though the one holding the leash still grasps it. The tiefling see it as a distraction and moves slightly to the side. He too just sort of stands there. There is silence.
Then without hesitation, they march like soldiers towards you guys. They move swiftly. The dog is dragging itself on the floor to stop from being taken. Yet it only just gets a bad case of rug-burn (if rug burn affects shadow creatures like it). The trio is only two feet away that they stop in front of you.
"Your presence is requested in the ballroom hall,"says pajama.
"Your invitation has been upgraded." Another. Swim trunks.
They wait with their jaws slacked open.
"He is requesting you to stay." Then all three.
Eduardo peeks his head out from the other side then he looks the corner.
A large smile splays across his mouth. It is too wide for his face. He gives you a two-fingered salute before he slips in. The dog stands up on its haunches and it growls. They pay it no mind.
Rainbow liquid starts drooling out their mouths. One twitches.
@Brodir
"Hopeful."
"A dreamer." The voice carries like the wind, "I wished I was more like you."
You step into the weird time reversal place. You feel your entire body go through what feels like ice. The sound of glass shattering rings throughout your ears. It feels like every single hair in your body is being plucked. Then you land. Righty yelps."Stay back!" It growls. The portal you went through closes. You don't see it but you know it. Righty shivers. Its ears press against its head.
"What- how is it?" It lifts up one paw, "I'm-?"
You heal it, arm outstreched; it limps further back until it stops limping. "Thank you - Why? - but-"It looks down, "This- this isn't real."
"Friend?" It makes a face, not one of dismissal but of confusion. It doesn't have much time to continue before you are pulling it out of the ballroom and into the lobby. It tugs its arm away from you. "No way I can't. I've tried!" It blurts this out. Its chest heaves.
"Wait- I've tried? I've tried! I can't." It whines. It howls. "This is my crime. My punishment. There's no getting out of here. No. Not for me." It paces the floor.
"How did you do this? How did you get back here? I shouldn't be here."
The voice laughs in the background. Righty doesn't seem affected by it.

"no punishment should be forever. if you wish, I shall dedicate your soul, so that, at least, you shall find peace after death."
Macario stumbles forward, tripping onto his knees and dropping his scimitar. He was prepared for a fight from the masked figures, but wasn't expecting any sort of shove from behind. He scowls strongly as he gets back up and dusts himself off, tucking the blade back into his belt before putting on his best "honored guest" face and responding to the trio. "We'd both be honored to accept your invitation. My friend here may benefit from an arm to lean on, though. He tends to be a bit clumsy."
[[ Macario is not getting dragged into this alone and at the moment kind of wants to use these guys to make Argos feel uncomfortable, even though they're most definitely the bad guys. ]]

((lol it's okay I honestly make up most of this on the spot. which part? I can give a summary))
They first turn to Argos. Their mouth moves about to say something before Macario drops to his knees and then they slightly move back. Some of the rainbow drool gets onto the scimitar and it sizzles, evaporating the spittle immediately.
The trio's gaze follows you back up mechanically.
"Clumsy?" There is a hint of sympathy. They tilt their heads with the eyebrow part of the mask arching up, arms swaying side to side in the breeze. They shake their heads. "Both of you. He said both."They turn to look at each other inquisitively. There seems to be an air of confusion. "Yes. Both."
The one in the dress (an elf woman with long red hair) sticks out her arm to you, Macario. "Lean." You now realize they were looking sorrowfully at you because they think you are the clumsy one.
"Lean." The other two repeat (the one in swim trunks is a tabaxi - ironic - and the other with pajamas is a human). They also stick their arms out for Argos to lean on. They stand there.
@Brodir
"Hah no. My punishment has been forever."Righty looks up at the ceiling. "I've been here for thousands of years. Nothing lasts for thousands of years. I should have known. What would be waiting for me?" It continues pacing. "My name was Jorge." The barghest stops. "Getting out... was a dream." He sighs. "But now that I've tasted it, I went back."
"I died, and there was nothing." Jorge the barghest shakes his head. "Nothing for me at least." He puts his paws on his head. "They said- he said-"
"Trusted a leader. No, don't go following blindly into the night."
He walks over to the lobby desk. He picks up a binder off the desk. The Guest Book. He picks it up with his mouth and trots over to you. He puts it in your hand.
"Thanks, but I don't need it." Jorge puts one paw up and gestures to the empty room. "We've been long gone. Others need it more than us."

Macario awkwardly gestures to the shield on his arm before just gently pressing it against the woman's arm, hoping whatever spirit or creature is possessing her will let that count. He walks forward with her towards the entrance.
((AHHH thank you!!! also really sorry for not posting in so long! been really trying to get myself together))
The possessed woman does not seem to mind about it being just the shield, though she just sort of gives you a sort of blank, sorrowful stare like you didn't understand (in a way a teacher looks at a child who gets the answer wrong after five explanations). "Let us go."
The other two (shorts man and pajama guy) do not take kindly to Argos's refusal with Pajamas grabbing him both at the arms on each side. He drools rainbow spittle onto you. Then in the next second, he hoists you up onto the tabaxi's shoulders for some reason ((basically a grapple with 10 to Argos's 4 + 2 = 6)) and Shorts (the tabaxi), though a bit blindsided by this, just decides to carry you like that.
Dress goes and opens the door to lead you all in.
"Before we begin-" Pajamas stops in front of the group at the entrance of the empty lobby like a tour guide. "do we have any questions?"
@Brodir
You open up the book to find names, hundreds upon hundreds of them. The barghest holds his breathe,"So many." You see his eyes going left and right trying to read them all. Then suddenly it goes blank.
The cieling starts to crumble.

"We have to get out of here," you say. But when you say this your voice also echoes. You feel it reverberating against the walls and through the floor. A wave of confusion falls over the barghest's face. He steps back then suddenly his entire body goes still.
You're back in the ballroom. You're fighting the same battle. The barghest is standing where he last said that to you. He is stacking chairs and tables towards a portal that is floating above the room. This time the energy of the portal is gray, still lightning crackles out from it. "Well? What are you waiting for?" Jorge calls back out to you, motioning with his head up to the hill made out of furniture. It reaches up to the edge of the portal door.
You realize you still have the Guest Book in your hands.
Suddenly, a large crash startles the portal, causing it to send out a burst of sparks into the air. A long worm-like body falls through the tables and chairs, completely crushing it. Its coils around what appears to be a giant foot that just suddenly steps out. It completely crushes Jorge (what luck!). The foot is hoofed and the other one, coming to a halt next to it, is taloned. You recognize this is Jorum, and he is fighting someone.
The two opponents struggle with each other. One foot (the hoof one) steps back, getting out of the constrictor's grasp. Jorge is somehow safe under it. It looks like these two are just phasing through. They are projections of some sort. The barghest doesn't even seem to notice, just only staring at where the Dimension Door's sparks landed, which was onto the stage's curtains, having now set them on fire.
@Argos and Macario
((aw thank you man I really appreciate it. yeah honestly so true. this somehow happens in waves, but I'm glad to be back here and thanks for the support.))
The trio of blank stares come to a full stop once you say this. "That... wasn't a question," Pajamas says, still holding the door open. Trunks interjects. "It was a cry for help."
"But we are helping?" Dress dully responds back.
"Help..." Pajamas looks to be in deep thought. He rummages around in his pocket and takes out a cookie: chocolate chip. It is soggy. He offers it to you, holding it up straight arm's length up to you on Trunk's shoulders. "Hungry?"

The barghest doesn't even seem to notice, just only staring at where the Dimension Door's sparks landed, which was onto the stage's curtains, having now set them on fire.
@Argos and Macario
"Hungry?"
