(If Faen is not 20 ft away from DS2, she will first back up to that distance)
Faen’s form begins to shift as she wildshapes into an elk. She then lets out a little huff and with a look to check that Kirniar is still okay and holding his own against the first guard. She begins to charge the second guard.
Attack: 17 Damage: 7
OoC: Oops that’s actually not the right Damage dice but I don’t suppose that matters because the attack roll was so bad. Should have been a 3d6+3
Faen’s form begins to shift as she wildshapes into an elk. She then lets out a little huff and with a look to check that Kirniar is still okay and holding his own against the first guard. She begins to charge the second guard.
An elk, what the %@$@$#; ! comes crashing into the room and DS2 side steps it quickly and lets it pass.
Having reloaded her crossbow, Keyleth once again emerges from her hiding spot to move toward the south door, firing another shot at the wounded guard [DS1 if alive, DS2 if not], and then stepping back into cover to hide
On her way back to her hiding spot, she loses her footing for the moment and trips against the wall with a loud clunk giving away her position.
Her attack is enough though. The kobold, already severely injured, dies after her bolt enters its chest with a heavy thud.
DS2 frantically attacks Ransyl again but between Kirinar messing up his attacks or the sudden appearance of an elk both attacks miss as Ransyl has no trouble evading them.
Seeing the first guard go down, Ransyl yells out to the second guard, “you should have listened to me!” and strikes at the guard with two swirling blows.
"This is your chance to surrender...drop your weapons and stand down!" Kirinar says, holding his attack for a moment. If the kobold drops its weapons and surrenders, the young fighter will nod and accept. If the kobold makes an aggressive move, then he will unleash an attack with his spiked ball of death!
Readied attack if kobold does not surrender: 19 Damage: 4

Prepost (If elk Faen finishes them off ignore this!):
Hearing Kirinar's ultimatum followed by a loud thunk of a morningstar, Keyleth figures the kobold must be close to drawing its last breath, and rushes in with her serpent tongue dagger drawn to try to finish the job, slashing at the guard's throat.
Attack: 9 Damage: 9
If it is still not dead, she will disengage and continue moving to the southeast corner of the room to put a crate between herself and the kobold.

OoC: Kirinar attacked but didn’t finish them off
Faen gives an apologetic snort towards Ransyl, afraid that she may have surprised him and repositions herself 20 ft away from the kobold again (they may get an attack of opportunity against her) and attempts to charge him again.
Attack: 15 Damage: 10
Also they must succeed on a DC 13 strength saving throw or they are knocked prone if it hits
The kobold sees an opportunity and stabs out at the elk as it moves away from it but he misses.

Faen the elk smashes into the kobold and knocks it down to the ground. The group quickly realizes that it didn't just get knocked prone, the creature is dead.
Combat is over
I am awarding you each 250 xp for the fight and for great role playing. According to the CR calculator's that was supposed to be a very difficult fight for you guys but you came out relatively unscathed. And the dialogue leading up to the fight was great. Nice job!
With the immediate threat over, Kirinar looks around for Faen, realizing that she must be the elk! He smiles and then checks the other rooms to ensure there are no immediate enemies. Once it is all clear, he will check the bodies and search the room for any other interesting or useful items. "Well fought, everyone! I didn't trust that wormling...but we should move quickly in case others were alerted."
Hearing Kirinar's ultimatum followed by the loud thunk of a morningstar, Keyleth runs into the room to help finish off the last guard, only to find an elk standing over its lifeless body. With a furrowed brow and a puzzled expression on her face she looks around at the party, noticing that Faen is missing, and looks back at the elk. Her face relaxes as it dawns on her what has happened.
"I've heard about druids transforming into animals, but I've never seen it firsthand!" she says, approaching the beast and tentatively patting its head. Pulling her hand away she says, "Uh, sorry, is that weird? Can you... can you understand us when you're in that form?"
At Kirniar's urging to move quickly, she nods, and says, "Yes, quickly. Let's take a quick sweep of this area first in case there's anything here we can use to ... bolster our leverage against this 'master', whoever it is."
While Kirinar checks out the bodies, Keyleth looks around the room and adjacent rooms, opening the crates, looking under furniture, and looking carefully at the floor tiles(?) for secret compartments.
“Way to go friends! We are becoming a great team!”
Ransyl heads to Wruenele’s corpse to retreats his daggers and helps his team scan the area for artifacts. Ransyl is particularly interested in the guards spears and will test their weight to see if they will be usable.
Ransyl inspects the spears and they appear to be well made but nothing special about them.
Under a pile of plush cushions that Wruenele used as a bed you uncover 80 gp, three rough citrine gemstones worth 10 gp each and a silver ring in the shape of a curled serpent with a small emerald in its mouth worth 20 gp.
On a nook you find three flasks of acid, two potions of healing and 5 gp worth of rare plants and herbs in dried bundles. There is also a wand.
Faen bows her head as Keyleth approaches. The elk gives a nod in response to Keyleth’s question, a bit of an odd sight but isn’t this whole thing already? Faen looks in interest at the findings, especially at the herbs and the wand.
Intelligence check for what the herbs and plants can be used for: 6
Ransyl take a closer look at the silver ring, to see if he can detect any magical qualities. The glow of the emerald calls to him...

"Looks like we can split up this gold evenly, 20gp each. Faen and Keyleth, why don't you two each take a potion of healing as Kirinar and I are built a little sturdier and with heavier armor. Faen, since you are skilled in magic and natural remedies, why don't you take the wand and the herbs. If that's ok, Kirinar and I can divide the gems - I've grown a little attached to this ring. Kirinar do you mind if I keep the ring and you can have the 3 gems?"
"That sounds fine. I suppose I'll grab these acid vials too; they should fetch a decent bit of gold once we're back in town. I get the feeling that Wruenele's boss is nearby... Do we want to try to take a breather here before moving on, or press on quickly? I do think we should fully heal ourselves one way or another before heading in there. I don't know if it will come to blows there as it did here, but best to be prepared in case it does."
"When we're ready to move on, I think I'll use this potion to go invisible, which should last up to an hour or so. I'm no good at negotiating anyway, and that way if we aren't able to come to an agreement through discussion, perhaps I can get a drop on them. Just give a hand signal if that's how you think it's going."
OoC: A short rest here might not be the worst idea if we think we can get away with it; we have a couple of things that may need identification and/or attunement (this new wand, these goggles Keyleth has been carrying around forever but not actually benefitting from...), and it doesn't seem like the worst spot to be in, tactically, should some of the remaining kobolds come looking for us. The Fighters would get their action surges back, too.

Ooc- what a terribly unfortunate roll
Maybe the elk threw Ransyl off also. Whatever it was the remaining kobold blocked both blows with it's shield.
