After making many observations and measurements of the artifact and scribbling things down in his notebook, Torunn finally speaks up. "Ok I think I know how we can dismantle the artifact. I believe I have identified the week points and I will create a set of small charges of gunpowder." He then turns to Devin. "I will need you Devin to ensure there are no enchantments protecting or strengthening the artifact. If you can't remove them, at least try and weaken them. I will then place the charges. As I do not know how this object will react to the explosion, I advise we try to remove ourselves to a distance of 100 ft and we will use a flame arrow to ignite the charges. I will leave the aiming to whoever feels most confident. Once the charges have been set off, we will collect the pieces and bury them. If my calculations are correct, the artifact should be damaged beyond repair."

"100 feet?" Lukian asks, suddenly alarmed. "We should remove it from the town, then. Take it a safe distance away from all living things." He looks around, hoping the others will agree with him.
The party takes the artifact 100 feet outside town and Toruun carefully packs gunpowder around it. Once he finishes, Devin says "may I?" as he attempts to light the fuse. Unfortunately all it does is sputter for a bit and burn halfheartedly before going out. What do you do?

Devin is a bit disappointed that the fuse does not light. "Hold on sec, we don't need a fuse!" He then hurls a mote of fire at the packed gunpowder. Fire Bolt
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Post in Spoiler in case Devin's Post doesn't work
Watching the fuse fizzle out, Torunn sighs, "Well thats what i get for letting someone else light the fuse. Everyone stay here." He then makes his way over to the artifact where he double checks all the charges and checks the fuse on the way back. When he is happy, he says a quick prayer to Gond, lights the fuse and puts his fingers in his ears.
If D.O.R.K hadn't returned to the others before the explosion, having completed covered up the pits, she and her goblin retinue certainly show up after any significant display of explosions. Either which way, an excited Beedo is jumping around the others after it all, cheering in goblin and occasionally trying to rope people into marvel at the end results. D.O.R.K largely appears impassive about it all, but Vark is speculative from atop a mildly agitated Mr. G.

As Toruun resets the fuse and rushes back there is an almighty explosion and dirt rains down on everybody. As the party wanders over to examine the artifact they can see that whilst still in one piece (it is made of admantium after all) it is now twisted out of shape.

As Torunn examines the wreck, he will collect a small fragment or piece if there is any lying around, saying "Wow this thing is tough, but it should be unusable by now. It will be good to study this metal."
"Unfortunately, we do not have the time to remain here overly long, or else the current Crisis may grow beyond even our capabilities of managing in a sufficient manner." D.O.R.K comments, having followed Torunn up to the edge at the very least. "Need bigger boom?"Beedo asked curiously, earning a neutral eyed look from the construct. "... Possibly. It would have been.... 'nice' if it were possible to smelt it, and replace my plates with it."
Vark gets closer and softly taps the twisted bar with a foot. "What 'bout... G-money?" D.O.R.K cants her head at that. "The other dwarf? Gold beard?"D.O.R.K perks up. "... Oh. The one that assisted in the conflict. Ghelren, I believe that would be racists to assume he knows or is apart of a clan with sufficient forges.... but it does not hurt to ask. Assuming that is a route people wish to take." She looks to the others at that, and if given the go ahead, goes searching for said dwarf, if he wasn't already around by that point.

Toruun uses a pair of Ghelren's pliers and manages to break a piece of much bending back and forth a small piece of the metal.
So what's next?
(@GFC: D.O.R.K's wondering off to talk to Ghelren about knowing any clans who work with admantine or have a forge at least powerful enough to potentially break it down, seeing as the team's smith's are from an island nation, and probably wouldn't know themselves.)
(@All: BUT! If all are fine with trusting Darathara and crew to bury the busted up thing well out of town for at least the time being, I'm fine with us moving on. As just a reminder to all about our next course 'should' be short of a request from our patron god's directing us elsewhere:
Darathra turns to Devin “I thank you for your assistance, disguising the artifact like that was a truly inspired move, Mystra herself must watch over you.” (OOC: Devin can have Inspiration for the idea to use Arcanist's Magic Aura to disguise the artifact). She continues “I am worried that giants would make it this far into the Dessarin Valley without me receiving some kind of warning! Perhaps I could prevail upon you to follow the Evermoor Way” pointing to the road heading east out of the town “…and give this badge” handing over a platinum badge bearing the Triboar insignia of three boars charging forward “…to one Dral Thelev at Danivarr’s House in Everlund? He will know what to do with it!”
“Those thrice damned Giants ruining an old woman’s liveliehood” Urgala mutters as she comes back from surveying the ruins of Northshield House. “I’m of half a mind to go find Harthos Zymorven, borrow his Giant Slaying Greatsword and go after the Giant’s meself! But I suppose I’d better concentrate on rebuilding the Inn.” She turns to D.O.R.K and says “Oi tin lady I reckon you know one end of a sword from another. Why don’t you go find Harthos Zymorven and tell him Urgala sent you to borrow his sword. As far as I know it’ll only be hanging on his wall!”
(@GFC: Did Urgala not have a rough idea at least where to find Harthos to give?)

Torunn is being his usual self and is overly fascinated by the fragment of metal he has in his hands. "Now what secrets do you have for me?"he says, not really caring if anyone is paying attention to him.
Did Urgala not have a rough idea at least where to find Harthos.
Devin asks Urgala where they could find Harthos, to which she replies "last I heard he was castellan of Zymorven Hall which is on the other side of the Evermoors; about 200 miles as the crow flies!"
