Trimyrai will inspect the door, see if there is anything significant drawn/carved/painted on it, and if its locked.
Investigation: 9
Not much to see. Turn the door handle lever down to open it. Use the key hole to unlock it. It looks like it is locked, as the handle has some resistance to being rotated, but the key hole is large enough that someone could probably pick it, even without tools or training.
The door itself was expertly carved, with enough groves and lines to give the surface a pleasing texture. No obvious runes or symbols.
Theren was the party's rogue before he left, but that doesn't matter. This door wouldn't be locked or trapped, right? (Others can try checking, if they aren't sure about Trim's results.)

Froskan uncovers his Lantern of Revealing to produce more light and to let trim put away his torch so he can have both hands free to use his bow as needed.
(The party is still in that underground chamber, in front of the door.
Iskander investigated the chamber itself, and reported what he noticed (post 2511).
Trimyrai was looking at the door, but you suspect that he was distracted when he put away the torch he just doused.)

Reverie shakes her head. "Unfortunately, I can't..."If Theren was here, it would've been easy, she thought, but she holds her tongue for that part. Then she walks towards the door and investigates the door if this door could easily open by the force or something else.

After Trim mentions that the lock is simple and large enough that he might be able to open it, without training (post 2514), Reverie gets suspicious. Why bother getting a lock that easy to defeat? She looks over the door carefully.
Besides the lock being simple, the door could be forced open if 2 or 3 people push on it hard enough.
Hidden in the texture of the door surface are dozens of small holes; each are half the width of your pinkie finger. They have the same yellow coloring that Isk noticed on the floor (post 2511).
She puts her ear to the stone and taps on it with the hilt of her dagger. (Kind of like trying to find the studs behind a wall, when putting in nails.) There is open space behind parts of the door, but a lot of it sounds solid. She suspects that the 10' wide door is not covering a 10' opening, but a few smaller (shield sized?) openings.

Reverie frowns slightly before she hums a bit, thinking what to do. ”Iskandar, Jack, do you think we can push this door with all our strength perhaps? Maybe we can try at least.”

“Yeah. One second, though. I want to see if I can do it alone.” Jack shoves the door with all his might (Athletics:19) and, when he (probably) fails, smirks. “Ok then. Let’s do this.”
Reverie looks at Trimyrai, nodding once, then she looks at the others. ”All right, let us try to open them by force first.” Then she places her hands on the door and tries to push them with all her might.

Isk 5akes a close look at the small holes in the door and says, "These couple dart, or needle traps. Be careful when the door moves and make sure you are clear of them."
“Yeah. One second, though. I want to see if I can do it alone.” Jack shoves the door with all his might (Athletics:19) and, when he (probably) fails, smirks. “Ok then. Let’s do this.”
At first Jack thinks the door won't budge, but then it suddenly gives way about half an inch. A yellow powder sprays from the small holes in the door, enveloping the party.
(Since Jack asked to do it alone, the others would be further away and have a split second to react. Jack is at point blank range, but his Necklace of Adaptation helps against harmful vapors. Everyone in the party make a CON save vs. DC 14, with advantage. If you fail, you take 8 damage and are poisoned for a minute. Each round you will take 4 more damage, but at the end of each round you try another CON save to end the poisoning.)
As the yellow dust starts to settle, you hear stone grinding from the ceiling of the corridor behind you, about 30' away. A hand-sized opening in the ceiling is pouring out a stream of black sludge onto the floor. It quickly fills the width of the corridor (Large sized object), and the tar-like mass starts crawling towards your party. (You may try a Nature check to see if you recognize this thing. But if you are poisoned, your check will be at disadvantage.)

Trim ducks back to avoid the yellow powder, and is safe as it settles to the ground. Jack and his magic necklace decide to show off. He starts making "smoke rings" in the yellow cloud, unaffected by the poison.
For Trim's Nature roll, he knows it is an Ooze, but he isn't sure what weaknesses it has. Or if it affects flesh, metal, wood, stone, or all of the above.
(If you "the player" have guessed, you can act on what you remember. The Nature roll is for those who haven't memorized the Monster Manual, and want to be reminded what to look out for.)
