The small door leads to a 2 cuic foot square dumb waiter. It is manually operated. THe two plaques obver the door read, "Servant's Quarters" and "Master Bedroom"
As the party ascends to the second floor, they reach the second floor landing. The sconces that line the wall are all lit and the house so far has appeared to be impeccably clean. At the immediate right at second floor landing is a door. Down the second floor hall you see another fireplace at the very end, above which hangs a large portrait of a family, as well as to pairs of suits of armor that flank a pair of double doors on either side of the hall. Looking over to the immediate left, is the spiral staircase continuing to the third floor.
Perzival shouts: "Just having a look around over here!

Perzival looks into "Slave's quarters"
For Perzival:
An undecorated bedroom contains a pair of beds with straw-stuffed mattresses. At the foot of each bed is an empty footlocker. Tidy servants’ uniforms hang from hooks in the adjoining closet.
Each suit of armor clutches a spear and has a visored helm shaped like a wolf’s head. The doors are carved with dancing youths. The youths aren’t really dancing but fighting off swarms of bats. Other then that, you just notice that everything, like the previous floor is pristinely clean.
Mituna stands by the stairs. “The second floor is still a lived in house, and we still have a monster to kill and a family to save. Let’s move people!”

walking down the main hallway, Arbrist opens the right pair of doors between two sets of armor. He walks into what looks like to be a library. Red velvet drapes cover the windows of this room. An exquisite mahogany desk and a matching high-back chair face the entrance and the fireplace, above which hangs a framed picture of a windmill perched atop a rocky crag. Situated in corners of the room are two overstuffed chairs. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the south wall. A rolling wooden ladder allows one to more easily reach the high shelves.

Arbrist follows Perzival, but is on the lookout for anything that might seem interesting or threatening.
Perception, if needed - 16
Nothing really of note in the servents quarters. The trunk is empty. Just some servents uniforms.
Arbrist is rather annoyed at this empty house, so he looks for another door to go through.
There are 2 pairs of double doors on this floor, both flanked by suits of armor.
Arbrist examines the suits of armor.

Perzival goes through the door labelled "masters quarters"
(Can I assume Arbrist follows?)
He indeed follows, though he is slightly vary of the armor suits.
Mituna stands by the stairs. “The second floor is still a lived in house, and we still have a monster to kill and a family to save. Let’s move people!”

What
That was in the Kitchen on the first floor. You are currently on the 2nd floor.
While Perzival is looking confused at the layout of the room, Arbrist concurs with Mituna:
"We really should get a move on, we are wasting time for no real reason!"
As you walk around the house, the winds howl from outside.
Arbrist tries to open the nearest door, or, failing that, knocks on it.
