Tusk manages to grasp the snake without getting bit, which, after a few moments of squirming around, settles down in Tusk's hands, seeming to have realized how futile it was to resist. Ledmo notes that while the foliage is pretty dense, most of the suitable lumber has already been cut and the lumber crew is preparing to head back to camp. He does notice a younger human man who is watching Tusk hold the snake, with a slight look of concern on his face. Tusk notices that the snake begins to try and escape at about the same time Ledmo's eyes pass over this man.
War Party A (Swamp)
[I must have counted Will's as someone else's, then. It's all up to Oriros, then. No pressure!]
The owl plummeted to the earth after being pierced by Belorin's arrow. When it hit the ground, however, the owl disappeared in a puff of deep green smoke, leaving behind no physical form. One of your fellow soldiers notices this, as does anyone on the fringes of the camp. "That isn't good," one of them says. There's a brief silence as everyone stares at the spot where the owl's body should be. "I'll go tell the officers," another soldier says, before heading off.
The map is pretty rough, due to its age, but Wilfred is able to make out what appears to be a coniferous forest a few miles from the war camp's location. After cross-referencing it with the orb's divination signal, the orc war party is either within or past the forest. Ganathor, with map in hand, leads the party out into the wilderness.
[Ganathor, you can make the check with advantage because of the map. Marching order is: Ganathor, Wraith, (Kenley/Wilfred/Kalahari/Guthric/Xerlax/Quavari), Quoren. Please correct me if I'm wrong at all.]
As activity bustled throughout the camp and soldiers go about their duties most found their gaze drawn to a sight that was most unexpected. A lithe young woman with strikingly dark eyes and feline ears moves uneasily through the bustle looking completely lost and out of place as she seeks the commanders tent. However it is not the feline features that draws the attention of those who catch sight of her for this woman walks barefoot in a hunched and predatory manor and is dressed in nothing but a few simple leathers and furs which barely protect her modesty. Her body is adorned with markings that are clearly drawn on using mud, sap or other natural stains and in various places are different totems: around her biceps are tied feathers which hang below her arms; around her ankles are tied circlets made animal teeth; and around her wrists and across the back of her hands are a set of impressive looking claws. She carries a primitive looking spear in one hand with a basic looking knife, a simple sack, a leather sling and cord of rope that appears to be fashioned from some sort of vine tied to her waist. As she walks she looks around her surroundings with her eyes wide and darting back and forth in a combination of awe and shock, giving the clear impression that she has never seen sights such as this before. Those seeing her might at first glance think to be wary of this primitive woman who could surely not belong in such a place, but quickly they would realise that the pattern painted on her face is in fact the symbol of the armies of light.
Upon reaching the commanders tent she enters and greets him with a large bow, sweeping her head close to the ground as she does so, before speaking in a broken grasp of common: "You Chieftain Greensparrow? Me Stalking Tiger By Flowing River of Green..." She shakes her head as if remembering something before she continues: "No, me Pheara. I forget use birth names in this lands. I be sent great distance to help Chieftain Greensparrow. They say Chieftain need one that knows of Luoam...what you call...nature, or wilds? Pheara be this one for Chieftain. Pheara alone now, dark ones take tribe. Pheara want...." She thinks carefully about this word, it is clearly important to her and she wants to make sure she uses the right word so that the Captain understands her meaning. After a moment struggling to find it she speaks up, with an edge in her voice as she does so "Vengeance for tribe." Pheara then kneels down on both her knees before she bows forward placing her spear horizontally before her on the ground and resting the palms of her hands flat on the ground before the spear. "Chieftain Greensparrow take Pheara?"

Belorin's eyes go wide for a moment when he sees the owl disappear. He immediately knocks another arrow and crouches low, the hunger that plagued him moments before now almost completely gone. Crouching low, he pulls the hood of his cloak over himself and begins slowly walking towards the place where the owl disappeared.
Frustrated in his attempts to find suitable lumber, Corrin looks around for a few minutes before going to help the lumber crew carry that which has already been cut back to the camp.
After about fifteen minutes or so of marching, Wilfred catches up with Wraith and Ganathor. "I reckon that that wood there is where we'll find the Orcs. Best if we try to find some high ground with a view of the forest for tonight, so we won't be caught by surprise when they move."
He then turns to Kenley, and, attempting some conversation, says: "You've been pretty quiet so far. Been with this outfit for a while?"

Though his attention was predominantly given to the marsh grasses and prickly shrubbery surrounding the area in which the soldiers worked as timber haulers, he did note the young human male regarding Tusk concernedly. About this time, the general call went out to prepare to move off and bring what lumber was collected back to camp, and so Ledmo looked about to be sure there were no stragglers to be left behind -
- and then approached the young man, drumming his thick gloved fingers on the haft of his battle axe. "Tha' there's Tusk, an' I don' sugges' ya be tryin' yer 'and at pettin' snakes as he does." Ledmo shot a quick glance over to Tusk, standing next to the man. "He seems t'be 'avin' a way wit' beasts. War Party B
After winning the bet, Liron retreated to her tent to change into her vestments before leading the evening vespers. As she pulls back the flap, she noticed the owl fall and collapse into a puff of smoke. She grabs her longsword from the tent and approaches the spot where the owl fell. She scans the treeline for any signs of movement.
After making small talk with Odo regarding her lack of sweets during her travels, Loraphine follows behind the returning soldier in the hopes of gaining new information regarding the owl's smoking disappearance and their reaction towards it.
Since a few major holidays are coming up and post frequency is slowing down proportional to the speed at which they approach, I'm calling a brief hiatus from Eternal Warfare, just to remove the pressure of posting for everyone (myself included). We'll be on hiatus from December 23rd to January 2nd, though you can post here during that time if you want to wrap up some character actions. That said, I'm mostly going to be using this time to write out some lore for the world and maybe actually getting around to making a map so you all can see where you are in relation to each other.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
[Character submissions are still open, as a note.]
Walking silently with the party, Alyanna Lerissa, says not a word. Despite the days of travel and battle, her expression rarely changed. With long black hair tied back, pale skin that is freckles by the sun and sharp grey eyes, Alyanna Lerissa turns heads alone. With a height of six foot two and wearing simple armor, her sharp features of looking stern making her seem older than she is.
(Hi guys! Excited to join everyone! So, are we at camp or hunting? Meant to post sooner. Again, excited to be playing with you all!)
A vestment wearing elf standing near to a halfling beckons the strange yet equally lost woman to come with her.
"If you don't know what to do around this camp just like me, how about join me for the meantime? Soldiers are quite on high alert about the smoking disappearance of an owl hanging around our camp. With no direction on what to do, I'm kind of loitering around to see how will they react regarding the owl. The name is Loraphine by the way."
OOC: Hello Emilii_Manelli. From what I know, we're currently in camp for the night. I've seen two people on our war party still posting for the mean time, probably because most of them are busy for the holidays.
Guthric will take a place near the front, though not at the tip of the spear. On such a mission, it seemed best to engage the enemy from as far as possible with his bow before closing to melee.

A perspiring ashen violet female elf wearing a bland overdress beneath her vestments and a modest backpack shaken from her recent travels enters the camp.
"From what I knew we have more than a few people recruited for this war party, have they gone ahead?"
She collects her ragged breathing resulting from forcing herself to run before she continues.
"Where are my manners, I should introduce myself first right? My name is Loraphine Withrethin, a practitioner of martial arts under the watch of god Nyo."
OOC: Coincidentally, that's also the first time I posted on this campaign thread. Yup, we're loitering in camp till 2019.
