"Wow.... the situations around here are worse that I had imagined" The minotaur would say with a snort. "I would say that the dragon and goblins should be dealt with first... " The minotaur would look to his companions to see their response. Listening to Jinara's words, the minotaur would smile. "Yes, one of us does have a certain way with dragons... " He would say with a snort (that sounds like it might be stiffling a snicker) as he looks to Gaelin.
"Well it sounds like you are just the people to deal with it then. It is a white dragon to the north. The town thought a small group of adventurers would be able to kill it but they never returned, and the dragon froze 10 of their townsfolk a few days later in retaliation. The situation around the goblins, while dire isn't exactly moving anywhere. There's somewhat of a ceasefire as long as supplies get delivered to the goblins routinely. However, I don't know how long the supply will last with the orcs pushing from the east now." the lord says as he hands you a small collection of bounty fliers and begins to lead you out of the town hall. A horse drawn carriage is waiting outside and the lord opens the door turning to say, "I do apologize but I have to head to the south to visit with the sheriff of Riverwood to discuss our defense strategy should the south lines be pushed back again. I wish you the best of luck on your journeys." The lord hops into the carriage and takes off down the dirt road leaving you in the street with the fliers.
Gaelin's cheeks would turn slightly redder as his companions talked about dragons and keep to himself. He wasn't ashamed, he had a dragon friend and potential partner. Today, he thought he might even ride her around the castle far above the clouds. Maybe, he thought...he could even take her with them to fight this white dragon... at least she could keep them warm.
"I think the goblin job will be quicker especially if we can use Valeera to intimidate them a bit. We should talk to the druid back home and see if he can get us close then we can teleport back to save time. Getting paid for the dragon will probably take a while since there isn't a town full of people anymore and we'd have to track it somehow but I'm game for anything." Gaelin would say as the horse & buggy trots off into the distance.
Aryn would grin as Jinara and Mucor make their sarcastic comments. She smiles watching her brother's cheeks get rosy then nods, somewhat impressed as her brother spoke. "I didn't think of that. Hard to get paid by people that aren't there, even harder to find a dragon that may not want to be found. At least we know where the goblins are. Let's find out what the druid can do for us then go from there?"
Zinmaer, patient and quiet as he takes in all of the information, would chime in "If we are worried about not finding the dragon, I have keen sense for tracking. Also, I fear it would leave a cold trail for us to follow (pun intended as much as an elf can express). The goblins would be quick work, but we would be the catalyst reigniting the feud. Eradication would be our best solution I fear. I am ready for either." He pauses for a moment with a look of pondering across his face, then speaks once more "You know Aryn, what you did with the Behir bones could be done with a white dragon as well, but for cold."
"I do not want to underestimate any of these threats... I would be worried about Valeera getting hurt if she were to actually join the battle" Mucor would say rubbing his chin. "She could some day be our strongest ally..... the most valuble resource... and the greatest treasure within our keep... I would not want to see her harmed or worse while she is still so young" The minotaur would say with a snort. "She of course... is free to do as she wishes and if she wants to fight I think it might be foolish to try to stop her" He would then look to his companions. "I have a ring that will help protect me from the cold if we were to face the white dragon...but... If you all would like to face the goblin threat first, that is fine with me. Perhaps I can ask our owl friends to scout out the location of the white dragon for us while we deal with that threat" He would mention as he scratches his neck.. leaving a small dusting of spores falling to the ground.
"I don't want her to either but I was thinking more for intimidation than combat. Imagine the 5 of us rolling up on the town gates versus the 4 of you and me swooping over the town then landing with a dragon at the gates. I'd be intimidated by that. May even avoid bloodshed. If they start shooting arrows we kill em all." Gaelin says partially imagining the flight and awesome landing, "Either way we should see if the druid can help us get to either place with the tree portal thing otherwise we're going to have a long walk." and Gaelin will turn towards the direction of Castle Daybreak and begin walking.
(Xtra said she is a Young Brass Dragon now so she could take or deflect a few puny goblin arrows.)
(Valeera could probably take the whole goblin camp by herself at this point. @Jinara, yes limited to level 1 & 2 spells)
Assuming you can talk and walk. While you make your way back to the castle you look over the fliers. The flier from Ashvale seems rather new. The reward offered is 5,000 gold. The flier from Thorpe seems somewhat older and refers to the goblins as raiders who have killed some livestock and a few farmers, with no mention of them holding the town hostage. The reward written at the bottom is 4,000 gold. You make your way back to the castle and find Herbert working in the grove. When asked if he knows the location of either Ashvale or Thorpe he responds, "Of course. We know nearly every town and city on Telgun and Zhora that has a large tree nearby. Which would you like to visit?"
"Yes. I studied the circle here at the castle this morning. I can transport us all here but it will take me a minute to cast the spell so it's not great when your in a bind." Gaelin responds, then turning to Herbert. "Can you communicate with Inara while she isn't here? If you can can you ask how many days she thinks it will be before she returns?"
(Unless she's coming back tomorrow I think we could knock out one today and another tomorrow if Herbert can portal us there and I can teleport us back. These druids are amazing. Thanks Xtra!)
"I know how to move through the trees... but not that far..." Mucor would say with a snort as he looks to Herbert. "Let's just deal with the goblins now while the owls try to discover the location of the dragons lair.. We can then hopefully work to deal with the dragon tomorrow" The minotaur would say as looks to the group. Then looking back to Herbert, he would continue "Do you think you could ask Zephr, Talon, and Gary to scout out the location of the white dragon's lair for us? Perhaps let them know that they will be well compinsated for their efforts" He would say with a smile.
"I'll go talk to Valeera to see if she's interested, unless y'all don't want to bring her. Either way I have to go talk to her and let her know we'll be leaving for a little while." Gaelin would say.
"Yes, I will request they scout the area and return with their findings. It should allow me to put you closer to the dragon's lair rather than at the town." Herbert says then hearing Gaelin will say, "If you'll excuse me for a few moments I will reach out to the owls and tend to a few things in the grove, then meet you back here in about an hour so you can make in necessary preparations."

(Ooc: our tower only goes to 2nd level spells right?)

"Have you learned the ability to walk through trees like Inara and her grove?" Jinara asks
"Yes, although my charge is here. I can only provide a portal to your destination. Getting back is your responsibility." the tortle responds.
Aryn would look at her brother and say, “you’re sure you can get us back right? “
"Yes. I studied the circle here at the castle this morning. I can transport us all here but it will take me a minute to cast the spell so it's not great when your in a bind." (Sorry all. That question was aimed to Mucor and I just now realized that I didn't include that context lol #LateNightPosting)
(Not yet, It's a 6th level spell so he should have access to it at the next level. Transport via Plants )
"Yes, I can communicate with her... She says it'll be at least 3 more days." The tortle says as he cast a quick incantation.
Aryn will turn to the group and say, "Alright, sounds like we have plenty of time... so which one we wanna do first?"
(What time is it currently?)
(Almost noon)
"I know how to move through the trees... but not that far..." Mucor would say with a snort as he looks to Herbert.
