Jinara finally says telepathically to the group (including Baern as he should still be a part of this spell) "There is pain here. He is here for vengeance. Hopefully he can assimilate into our family. He does not seem to love much in his life. Baern what do you know about his past?"
Aryn masterfully creates a copy of the map and notes the area where each horde could be. While Mucor's joke lightens the mood Torq and Jinara seem as if they're in another world completely separated from the group while JInara peers into Torq's mind.
"He volunteered for service when the war broke out. His family lived far north of the Drekthar borders at that time not to mention in the tops of trees in a secluded mountain range so he thought they'd be safe. As the war progressed the Drekthar got closer and closer. He was badly wounded in battle and was moved far behind the lines to heal. When he recovered the Drekthar had already crossed over his village's mountain range. He broke rank when he found out and flew to his villages only to find all the trees cut down and the gnawed bones of his relatives as the only thing that remained. He returned to the battlefront a broken soldier. It took 6 men to drag him back when the line broke at Kaeldir. He's volunteered for countless suicidal missions but always manged to come back. He's as loyal and brave as anyone I've ever met. He's taken part of more battles and killed more drekthar than any of the other officers in this room, myself included. He'll be a fine addition if you'll have him." Baern says telepathically
Zinmaer has been silent most of the morning. He knew that killing the spies was the right thing to do but was he prepared to continue this bloodthirsty rampage. He knew Daegon was evil and that if he didn't continue to fight thousands if not millions would die but he still thought there may be another way. He trained all his life to defend himself and others but in his heart he was always peaceable. Attempting to calm emotions rather than let them lead to brawls. Maybe he wasn't caught up for this. Maybe he needed a break. Regardless he resolved himself to track down these hordes before more innocent blood was spilt. After that though... he didn't know.
You gather your things and prepare to depart for the group to the northwest. Baern and Beladin give their blessings and you take off into the sky.

Torq rushes out of the room to gather his things. He flies down to the field and carefully mounts onto Bronze Claw partially in awe. It takes him a few minutes to get situated comfortably, used to flying under his own power. The whole trip he is quiet unless asked questions. He'll look over the area carefully with his head bobbing and twitching in typical avian fashion.
Torq is completely out of his element having to rely on the flying of the griffon as opposed to his own wings and while he tries to focus on the area he spends most of his time fighting the urge to dismount and fly alongside knowing he’d quickly fall behind if he did so.
You travel for the better part of 2 hours to the northwest not really knowing the exact heading the orcs are taking. The landscape begins to shift from flat farmland and forest to hilly evergreen forests with periodic fields and lakes. You spread out in a wide line 1000 feet apart from one another to cover more ground, using Gaelin's telepathic bond to communicate. Aryn and Zinmaer to the west, Gaelin & Mucor in the center and Jinara and Torq to the east. After about 30 minutes Aryn and Zinmaer see a mass of orcs and goblins moving to the west about 4 miles away. They inform the rest of the group and you regroup coming from the east with the sun at your back and are about 3 miles (16 minutes) away.

The horde, currently in a forest appears to be heading towards a clearing on the southern side of a lake.
"We should use the lake to our advantage and keep as many out of the forest as possible. Mucor and Jinara, can you make barriers that will keep them in the open while we hammer them from above? Torq, do you have any magical abilities? Should we split up and some of us circle around to the north and south flanks?" Gaelin says telepathically.
(How are they traveling? In a long skinny column or a wide line, etc? How large is the lake and the clearing? Will the front of the horde reach the other side before the back of the horde clears the forest?)
The horde is traveling in a wide column formation, three battalions of orcs and zombies wide and roughly 20 battalions long. The clearing will fit the entire horde within it with 1-200 feet open on either side.
Potential map of the area. Depends on timing and strategy:
"I do not posses any magical capabilities other than the weapons I wield. I prefer to be up close and personal but I am rather skilled with a bow if range is necessary." Torq replies as he begins to get the hang of riding on a griffon. "I can attack the front of the horde and keep them at bay if our casters can create a barrier to the rear." Torq adds, confidently. You aren't sure if he's mad or actually believes he can hold off the front of a giant horde singlehandedly... could be a bit of both.
Arum looks over to Torq and cocks her head slightly. “Okay, let’s see what this guy can do.” She says telepathically to Gaelin as she shrugs. Then to the whole group she’ll say, “Zinmaer and I can sweep through the middle with our blades while Gaelin circles around with Valeera looking for any holes or clusters that might escape.
“Mucor and I can head south and Jinara and Zinmaer go north near the lake. Gaelin and Torq fly straight down the middle and fly ahead to cut them off.” She adds looking over the terrain ahead.
(OoC: I can't make any walls this time around unless I remove another spell. If I were to replace a spell with something like wall of fire, I would have to remove Dimension Door, or Banishment, from my list. I am fine with that, but I just wanted everyone to know what would be sacrificed. @Xtra: I have not finalized my spell selections for 13th level, just FYI. )
(Well that changes things a bit but basically the same strategy. Keep the ones you have Jinara. If you still have Fireball you can still crowd control somewhat. Jinara & Mucor will handle the east side while Gaelin and Torq do the west and Zin and I will do the middle. If we can cause enough mass hysteria they may crush themselves again or drown.)
(@Xtra- Is the 16 minutes at normal or fast pace? Can some of us move ahead before the horde reaches the clearing?)
(I really don't mind losing Dimension Door. It's an emergency spell for me, like counterspell. If we are fighting the hordes for the foreseeable future, it may be better for me to take a crowd control spell of some kind.)
(@Aryn- 16 minutes is normal pace so you could move faster to head them off before they all reach the clearing. @Jinara- No worries )
(For sake of time, I'll say with your fast paced speed each of you could be anywhere on the map when the last of the horde is exiting the forest on the east side. )
Everyone roll Stealth and Initiative! (Let me know where you want your character to be.)
(Combat will work slightly differently for this encounter. There are 24 Goblin, 18 Orc zombie, 18 Orc and 3 Ogre battalions. Each have a HP pool and corresponding dice that represents their damage. When you take your turn you will roll damage like normal but it will be against the targeted battalion's HP pool. When you destroy a battalion any extra damage will not carry over unless it is caused by an area of effect spell and only half the extra damage will carry over to an adjacent battalion. If there are no adjacent battalions no damage will carry over.)

(@Jinara That's the thing about this game and Xtra. You never know what you're going to face each day. Whatever you think is more useful. It's your character.)
(Oh snap it just got real.)
Stealth: 9 Initiative: 6 (Heck ya! Let's do this!)
(Gaelin and Valeera will be 10 feet above the treeline, 40 feet behind the last line of goblins, in line with the space between the middle two groups vertically.)
Torq doesn’t resist. His thoughts are of smashing orcs and zombies.
As you go deeper you get emotions of anger and hope.
I guess reasoning would be that if he travels with you he may encounter the Orcs that destroyed his village years ago
He doesn’t have love for anything. Everything he once loved is dead.
Jinara finally says telepathically to the group (including Baern as he should still be a part of this spell) "There is pain here. He is here for vengeance. Hopefully he can assimilate into our family. He does not seem to love much in his life. Baern what do you know about his past?"
