The following are the rules for posting and playing in this game. Please read these rules carefully and follow them as you best can. Always feel free to ask questions or for clarification on rules.
Posting
When not in battle, post to your heart's content. When in battle, only post for your turn if you can, but feel free to quip if you'd like.
All posts should be in the third person. I do not care about your tense as long as I can read it!
Use "Quotations" when you speak. Pick a color and use that color for your speech. This makes posts easier to read and see who is talking. Bolding your speech is recommended, but not enforced. Please choose a color that is easy to read. You may be asked to change the color of your speech.***
Sentences should be complete. No chatroom speak or excessive use of shorthand.
Most rolls will occur in the thread. Some rolls can occur in Discord (for example, you are unable to post a roll via mobile). There may be moments, for the sake of secrecy, you may be asked to roll in private. I'll provide direction on when this happens. 😃
Keep most OOC to the OOC thread or discord aside from leaving quick questions or statements inside of (parenthesis).
When using abilities, please provide the tooltip if you can! (Example in spoiler)
How do the tooltips/links to spells etc work?
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as magic items, monsters or combat actions - examples being Adult Black Dragon and dash. To create tooltips in this way as these, use the appropriate [tag][/tag] around the desired subject.
Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.)
When we are in combat, feel free to post your turn whenever even when out of sequence. The DM will summarize everyone's posts and include enemy action and movement at the end of the round.
Home Rules
Healing Surge: As an action, a character can spend up to half their hit die to recover HP in battle. You roll the die and add your constitution modifier. You cannot use this action again until after you complete a short/long rest. First level characters cannot use Healing Surge.
Inspiration Action: Inspiration can be stored and you can have a maximum of 3 points. You may spend 3 inspiration points to take an additional action during your turn. This action can only be used for a Standard or Movement action.
Passive Initiative: Initiative will not be rolled. It will be determined with the following calculation: 8 + Dex Mod + Any bonuses.
Battle Summary: Everyone will post their turn in battle when they can instead of posting via initiative order. DM will sum up the battle in their post which will include what the enemies are doing. This means you may not know what the enemy is doing until the DM posts the summary. Whenever a player takes an action that would become null and void due to player or enemy movements, DM will contact player over Discord -or- will redirect player action in a way that is beneficial to the player (whichever player prefers).
Help Action: When one character help actions another character outside of combat, they either must be trained in the same skill as the check OR they must be able to justify why a different trained skill would help. The player must also roleplay out exactly what they do to help. Help Action in battle still grants advantage. No skill check required.

An Azorious Arrester walks alongside a Boros Leggionaire as they make their way down the Transguild Promenade. All around them the festivities are bright and colorful as the street is lined with different booths and on-goings, including a few impromptu shows from bards working across guilds. The Azorious man scoffs as they make their way to the transition from Precinct One, an upscale area with upstanding, law-abiding citizens, to Precinct Four, known for it's Izzet explosions and nightly brawls. "I can hardly believe this assignment," he remarks aloud as he sees a couple of goblins enter the Yawning Portal. Their Rakdos coloring seems to have offended his eye. "At least we will be able to bring order to the riff-raff."
"Oh bloody hell," his Boros companion slaps the Azorious man on the back. "We're meant to be out here - mingling! Inter-guild-like, yeah? Gotta say though,"the Boros Leggionaire leans in and whispers, "I'm hopin' a fight breaks loose, mate. So many Rakdos and Gruul are about - a fight is sure to break out, don't you think?"
"Ugh."
Indeed, today is marked for the celebration of the Guildpact! The Transguild Promenade runs through all ten districts and cleaves through the center of District Ten, where our story begins. The Transguild Promenade, much to the chagrin of ne'erdowells, is neutral ground where most feel safe from the often petty, but sometimes brutal, fighting between guilds or other neutral parties. Between Precinct One and Precinct Four dwells an establishment with a most peculiar feature. Formerly owned by Rakdos Cultists, seized by Orzhov, and purchased by a guildless citizen of Ravnica, this establishment is called the Yawning Portal. So named for the gaping portal in the center of the tavern floor where one can enter to find fortune and, perhaps, fame.
We aren't here to talk about the portal, however, though certainly, a few folks inside the tavern hope to see if something fun pops out. No, we are here as two Rakdos goblins, Klox and Blix, make their way into the tavern.
Durnan is, as faithful as ever, standing behind the counter pouring drinks for some Boros boys. The tavern, as one might expect is bursting at the seam.
Near the portal, Rukorm, the Izzet minotaur, is seated by Grishkar, the Orzhov Vedalkin. They both seem to be speaking to Bori, the waitress, as she seems to, every now and then, look off into a corner in the room.

"Thank you," Rukorm mutters as Bori sets his ale down on the table. Looking up and seeing the goblins enter, the factory worker lets out a subtle sigh and rubs his eyes. Just what he needed; more people.
Dr Vay had his team cranking it to two hundred today at the Laboratory of Metallurgy. The bull's day had been a blur of welding, tighten bolts, and hauling machines into place as the doctor hurried to get as much preparation for his latest experiment completed as possible before they were released for the holiday. He supposed if there was a bright note it was that the heavy pace had cut the annoying chatter and incomprehensible babble from Vay's assistants down to nothing. Still, by the end of it, Rukorm was so tired he couldn't even bring himself to doff his metal work shielding, and had retired to the usually less packed Portal for a drink before heading home and letting himself crash.
He was thankful for the few days of solitude the Guildpact Anniversary brought each year, but beyond that, Rukorm didn't care about the holiday. He'd joined the Izzet so he could make a decent living, without the threat of being apart of the guildless the guilds stepped on. Otherwise, so long as it was maintained and didn't throw his life into any more chaos than it already was, the minotaur really couldn't care less about the Guildpact.
Leaning back against the wall of the well behind him as he sets his drink back on the table, Rukorm tried best to cut out the senseless clamor that echoed around him, but it didn't help much. Thankfully, though, through his gruff demeanor and chosen table partner (because of course there wasn't an empty table), no one seemed particularly interested in talking to him. Even so, the bull closed his eyes and breathed, just loud enough for the Veldaken beside him to hear, "When will this day end?"
Blix slaps Klox on the back and chuckles in a high pitched tone. "..And then elf asks if he could cut tongue with scissors. Me says nothing, only do this." Blix sticks his tongue out towards Klox and what a sight it is to behold. Between crooked teeth and glittering glass a cleft tongue appears. A mix of blood and drool drips from it. Drip, drip ,drip. Three drops. Down on the goblins chin. "It was... wonderful!" Blix slurps the blood of his tongue and giggles. "This is Blix last week. But me know nothing 'bout you. You Rakdos too, Blix knows. But not name, not this cackles with you. TELL ME EVERYTHING." The goblins eye twitches as he finishes his demand and grins.

"Klox is name, cracking wise is game!" Chortles the diminutive little joker as the light of the evening sun through a nearby window catches the slivers of shattered mirror sewn into his leathers, refracting in a likely annoying glimmer pattern across the eyes of nearby tables. "Klox is fastest, most gleeful still-alive goblin in three districts!" As he says this he absentmindedly jerks softly at the spiked chain leading from his hand to a collard Cackler crouched beside him. The creature emits a staccato burst of what vaguely resembles a cacophony of child-like laughter overlaid atop the dulcet moans of lost souls. "Yes Giggles, you agree!"
Looking around, as if to scan for some unknown party, Klox saddles up closer to his fellow goblin. "Hey...hey....why did the Dimir Thought-thief cross the road?...........I forgot." With that Klox breaks into another round of laughs at his own joke.

Grishkar cracks a smile as he watches the absurd little goblin and it's pet. Not that the joke was amusing, but it was interesting to torment tricksters. Arching and contorting his fingers, then whispering under his breath, Grishkar weaved shadows and air around the goblin's head.
"Have a seat..." A friendly voice offered to the goblin jokester. A short stool came into being at the table, right next to Klox.

"Sounds like a bloody idiot." the bull replies at the story. He didn't know Darkmoor well, but he trusted him more than other brief associates. It was not the first time he had heard such unfortunate tales from the Vedalken either. In the few times they had met, he'd heard a small handful of anecdotes about other foolish clients of the Syndicate, and those stories even furthered his resolve to never take out a loan from the Orshov, and made him even more thankful that the Bulwark where he lived had enough retired Boros to give even the most confident burglars pause. Still, though, Rukorm was marginally thankful to Grishkar, considering one of the first stories Rukorm heard from him explained so clearly why the Izzet's father had neglected most everything but drink and dice.
Hm, that one might be interesting...Rukorm thought to himself as he allowed himself to be silently amused by the joke. He took another swig of ale right before choking on it when the Orshav beside him set out his proposition to the goblins.
