Can Taylon roll a cartographer's tool check to see if he has some old map of it? INT based? so INT mod+Prof? In case is a yes: 14
So yes.
Taylon knows where it is and it would be a grand adventure to venture forth toward it. There will be quite a few obstacles but it wouldn't be fun otherwise.
Xak Tsaroth was once a thriving city on the central eastern coast of Abanasinia. The city was founded by the descendents of the Ut-kiri tribe. The wealthy city was led by merchant lords and home to a Temple of Mishakal. During the Cataclysm it was partially destroyed and the surviving inhabitants fled.
Taylon sits excited on the floor of the cave and start to put down his beloved collection of maps. Looking for one that could contain the location of that city.
Shan looks to the others.
" Xak Tsaroth was founded before the Cataclysm by the Ut-kiri tribe. It was a great and wealthy city, thanks to its position on the eastern coast of Abanaisina. Led by the merchants lords it was famous for... "she stops and her eyes turns to Elona. " That old man told you to go there? Are you sure? "she takes a few step towards her, looking in her eyes. When Elona answers her she continues. " The city was home of a great Temple of Mishakal, Godness of Healing."
She let her words sink into the others minds, while the kender still looks for a map of that part of the continent, the wizard walks towards the entrance of the cave and look into the night's sky. She seems to be lost in her own thoughts.
Noting the mood of Shan, Brenton gives a slight cough, saying, "Well, we have a destination and the sooner we leave, the better."
"Taylon, may I sit next to you as you go over the maps. My home is off to the east, perhaps you, I and a few of the other seasoned travelers can find a good road to... Xak Tsaroth... - once we sneak out of Solace's influence."
"Yes Yes please come... look Brenton! This onecovers the whole Abanisinia, but it's old, and this oneis of the whole world! A gnome in Palanthas sold me a couple of years ago. Yes, yes he sold it to me and I paid for it! Don't give that look. You know I am very serious when it comes to maps! "
I added links to the maps, but unfortunately giving format to the text erase the "link aspect" of it but if you click on the "one" words you will find them.
I am afraid that I am unable to find maps without the name of the city on it, so I decided to use the bets looking ones, just pretend that the name doesn't appears for he didn't make the roll, barely, but he didn't ;)
Shan replies to Alex with a faint smile in her lips, but still looking towards the starts.
"Because I told you about it long time ago. When I told you histories of the great archmage of old, before the Cataclysm. Fistandantilus, the greatest wizard of all times... and the most feared of all..."
I believe I 'aven't 'eard it yet. Do yeh mind tellin' us once more?
Cairn begins to lead us through the cave paying close attention to the stonework, being able to tell the difference between natural water carving and others done by tools.
Solomon arrived late into the cave behind the others. He stood on the boat after they arrived for a few moments looking towards the other beach. Solomon walks into the cave and stands next to Elona."So, what is our plan?"
" Well.. not directly to Haven but look here... " he points to one of his maps " From this bank of the lake the most direct route will take us near it, sooner or later we are going to have to cross the road... " he adds, looking to Kaira and Brenton.
Shanryar looks at Solomon
"We are going to travel to Xak Tsaroth Solomon! At least that is what looks like.. " she smiles to him " Did anyone followed us? "
" I do not know my friend, but we can always repeat that little trick of Tika's house in case that big belly of your's get stucked. You weren't taking care of yourself all these years, weren't you? You look fat... " she says clearly teasing the minotaur and smiling to him, trying to ease the tension of all that's been happening.
Solomon slightly smirks back at Shan. "I did not notice any followers."Solomon begins fidgeting with the gold ring on his finger. "Xak Tsaroth? Should I be familiar with this place," he says with a raised eyebrow.
Solomon notices the slight fear that comes across Karia face. "What exactly are we to expect upon entering this foreign place?" Solomon then turns to Shan. He pats her on the shoulder and says, "Gaining wisdom from books and lore was not the culture of my mother's people. They learned all they know from the trials and beauty of nature."
Brenton brings in a few of the others who have traveled out that far east, himself among them, so that they can discuss the best general path on which to take the trek, understanding that their first leg will require some level of subterfuge and stealth...
// I don't have access to a map, so some DM input regarding a few options regarding which trail to take plus a pro & con for each based on the collective experience of those far travelers would be appreciated - figured you'd give us a few option and then the party can decide which way to go. //
Fangor nods at Solomon's words. "Books can teach us many things but they are written by mortal hands. That's not to say they're wrong, but the words are the opinion of one person. When you're in nature you view it straight from the source."

"Only if you had spent the last five years in the Great Library of Palanthas studying my friend " replies the wizard to Solomon.
