OoC: @Vastor, to hit is 1d20 + your modifier & proficiency (whatever that is), in Ceasar's case it was due to a +3 STR mod & +2 proficiency bonus; looking at your character, you'd roll a 1d20+4 to hit
[Since the gnoll was at 1, I'm not worried about the attack damage. Good to get that info out of the way now, though.]
As Bavarax fells the gnoll once and for all, Captain Amakiir is waving everyone onwards. Your fellow soldiers are charging in an opposite direction from the gnolls, with some archers in the back firing arrows in hopes to dissuade the oncoming horde.
You have entered into a chase! During a chase, you can throw back attacks at the risk of losing ground, or you can Dash away from your pursuers. During the chase, you can dash a number of times equal to 3 + your Constitution modifier. Any dashes beyond this limit force you to make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or gain a level of exhaustion. Once you reach 5 levels of exhaustion, you drop out of the chase, since your speed becomes zero, and chances of survival are... not likely. You may take your actions in the original initative order if you wish, or just as you need to. Once everyone has taken their actions, I will determine what happens, such as who falls behind, who encounters and obstacle, and who manages to make it out alive (there is dice involved, just on my side). Since there aren't really any rules for carrying another creature (if someone were to pick up Nuur, for instance), I'd merely say that you make your Constitution save with disadvantage if you dash beyond your limit and are carrying someone.
Ceasar, having his opponent slain before him, sighs internally, but quickly moves on from it as he spots the incoming force. "Bloody hell. Live to fight another day my friend!" He gives Bavarax a light punch on the shoulder, then turns around and dashed 5 times (180ft in total).
"Run like the desert winds comrades! Hahaha!"
He'll attempt to stay in the rear if the main party, with a hand axe at the ready to throw, but he'll mainly try to help anyone that starts to fall behind, carrying them if need be.
ooc: hello everyone, writing in order to subscribe the thread, tell me when I can start posting and , if you like, give a sum up of the situationb (or tell me where should I start reading from)
Without even asking permission, Krag grabs Nuur and swings him over a shoulder, roars one last time at the oncoming horde, and bolts off, dashing 5 times (150 feet) and trying to stay as close to the group as possible.
The sudden movement jolts Nuur back into consciousness, "Good thinking Krag, you´re saving my ass right there! I felt a great disturbance of a distant beeing that required my aid, but I´m back now!" he suddenly spurts out. "You keep dashing my Friend, I´ve got an idea." A few quick words and Nuur casts a Gust at the ground towards the oncoming Gnoll horde (at max distance) in hopes of whirling up a cloud of sand.
Bavarax turns after enjoying the satisfaction of a kill and dashes five times along with the rest of the group. He was tempted to let out a roar of flames from his mouth, but realized that would hardly stay lit once the horde arrived. He was even more grateful he hadn't used it when he noted the gust being blown their way.
Cyllyn stows her staff behind her once again and turns with the others to flee the oncoming horde. Pulling her hood quickly down to shield the sand whipped up from the sudden winds from the elder human. Needing no encouragement to run with the rest she turns and flees. Doing her best to keep pace with the others, she mumbles aloud "What in the Fey did I get myself mixed up in?"
Normal speed: 30 ft, Action: Dash (30 ft). Extra Dash x 3 (90 ft) = total feet moved 150ft.
Extra Dashes: 3 out of 5 used. 2 remaining.
OOC: If it helps, I was thinking of Cyllyn as being behind the others when she arrived on the battlefield. Sorry if I didn't do the extra dashes right, I've never done a Chase before.
Rook whispers a quick prayer and casts fog cloud behind the party to help cover their retreat from ranged enemies. Rook then smiles and flies 30 feet high and dashes 330 feet in the air (50ft base movement in the air). Rook keeps looking behind him to check if anyone falls behind.
[Technically, chases are a turn-by-turn kind of thing, but since almost everyone decided to dash five times, I'll just resolve five turns all at once. That one's on me, since I phrased it weirdly. To clarify, chases happen on a turn-by-turn basis. I was saying you can maintain initiative order for your posts if you like, but it isn't necessary.]
The gnolls keep pace with you for a short while, but begin to wear themselves out, seemingly unable to keep up with your group. They haven't fallen too far behind, a few stronger-looking gnolls are still outstripping the rest. Even the hyenas trailing the group have started to fall behind. Somehow, no one has fallen behind. Nuur's gusts and Rook's fog cloud have managed to ward off ranged attacks for now.
The war party has come upon a steep divot in the sand! Make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to attempt to cross it if you are on foot! (DC is 10. Failure means you move at half speed for this round).
Bavarax scrambles down the divot attempting to keep his footing so he doesn't hold the group back. He had noticed those larger gnolls closing the distance and knew they didn't have time for an engagement and any would likely result in them being surrounded and overwhelmed.
Cyllyn continues to try and keep pace with the stout and strong warriors she has found herself in company with...
Acrobatics check: 14
Struggling slightly to wade her way through the divot of sand, Cyllyn continues to move forward. The sweat beads on her brow as she pushes herself.
Standard Movement: 30 ft. Action: Dash for another 30ft.
Dashes used: 5.
(Edit was to add flavor text after the roll but does not impact the roll. Secondary edit: I think I misunderstood the dash rules...Chase sequences confuse me a bit. I'm now out of my "free dashes"...sorry about that)
"I´ll be fine now Krag, thanks again!" Nuur yells while he wiggles himself off of Krags shoulders. "I have the feeling they won´t follow us down this divot. I´ll stay with you, I don´t wanna leave my savior behind." he tells Krag while looking at the way ahead.
Perception: 16
((I´m assuming Krag already made his move before me.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ceasar slides into the dune, relying on his trained body to power slide down safely, before dashing forward.
Athletics: 18
however, due to the wound he sustained in the small bout earlier, he nearly stumbles, but thanks to sheer force of will, he's able to keep himself standing and then keep moving forward, "No way in the 9 hells I'm dying here!"

Rook who is still hovering above the ground turns around to provide some cover for his allies. His hands start glowing white and he casts Sacred flame at the nearest Gnoll. Then Rook flies 50 feet away. "Hurry comrades! They are keeping pace!"

Hank May be enormous, but he knows what happens when you’re surrounded. He proceeds to dash away from the chasers.
