the ones with more charisma and brass mouth (it can be me and Mulligan? any volounteeer?): me and another: we go inside the inn, the others stay outside waiting for signal. We try to stay close to the window in order to share signal with the ones outside (three coughs or the like) : if there are any REdnbrand and they are about to leave/finish their drinks (and they are few : 3/4), we give the signal: ambush from the ones outside and from the two of us going out.
If not possible to stay close to the window, when they are about to leave one of us goes outside to pee or something and AMBUSH
I had an idea like this at first, too - it's why I wanted to scout out the area before. But I'm not sure it's a good idea now. They'll be on alert, and we should assume at least that some of them know what we look like. If we're going to do this, let's wait at least one more day so they aren't quite so on guard.
As you are all sitting eating dinner, Tolben wanders over to the table. He leans down, eyes darting around the room. "Rumor is you've taken out some of the Redbrands. The town thanks you heartily, but beware. They won't be happy about it," he whispers. He looks around again furtively, then continues. "They usually hang out at the Sleeping Giant, but now they've been wandering around town in pairs, watching. Just - be careful," he says.
Kyanite turns to the others. "If these Redbrands are local bullyboys, then maybe we don't assault them. But rather draw them out to us, and fight them on prepared ground. They aren't likely to let a challenge go their authority go unanswered."
“Of course I don’t want to kill them but just to knock them down. If they are really so stupid to walk around in pairs, with their red dress and all, who are we to object? We can fight couple per couple. Let’s think of a way”
ooc: let’s come up with something. I am on holiday this week but Ajax idea is clear, isn’t it?
Kyanite: "If memory serves, they frequent the other inn. We should be able to ambush some drunks on they way home. After a night of drinking, they should be easy to knock out and drag to jail. Or follow them home."
”maybe you lost what this innkeeper said...They usually hang out at the Sleeping Giant, but now they've been wandering around town in pairs, watching. Just - be careful," he says.
”so they are not at the inn but they patrolling the street. So my ideas involves you, my dear gnome friend, and your illusions skills we came to appreciate, I was thinking: what if we hide in a non well lit road and you cast illusion once a couple comes close?!”
oOoc: 1) more or less we ran around town, @dm can we have a map: I was thinking to hide in a place like a barn or any big place where to put the knocked down red brands?
the place to hide must not be in a crossroad otherwise two couples of red brands may arrive together
Ajax thinks a little about the town of Phandalin...there must be a place not far from the forest, well, hidden, without crossroads where they could meet more than a couple of redbrands per time...then whispers to the others
Do you remember that little house with some wood behind towards the miner's trail?
ooc: my idea is : we hide behind the house I marked with a red cross (behind branches, tree and whatnot) and when a couple of redbrands pass by: ZAK, we attack them. we can do it more than once if we manage to hide the unconscious (AND WELL TIED) bodies of the redbrands.
From that position, is something goes wrong, we run west and then north so to re-enter the town more or less at the orchard and from there to our inn once again
Kyanite looks at Ajax with doubt, "Well, we can try it, but they did mention the Inn on the other side of town. Let's go. I am thinking the illusion of a gold coin reflecting the sun on the road will get them to stop. They don't seem to be the shiniest apples from the tree."
As you are sitting at the table planning, a sudden hush falls across the room. Looking up, you see that one of the Redbrands has entered the inn. He looks around, spies the party, and then grins. He immediately turns and leaves. As he does, the room suddenly erupts as the patrons begin to whisper animatedly to each other, some of them gesturing towards the party.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"It looks like they are coming to us... Flip the table, I'll use it for cover, and someone get behind the bar. Let them come to us." Putting words to action, he gulps down his drink and flips the table. Casting an illusion of himself at another table, he crouches down and readies himself
@dm: can I intervene before he leaves the inn? Mainly I want to avoid him to leave, or putting myself by the door before goes away or ( if not possible) just shouting at him
as soon as the red brand grins and tries to takes his leave, Ajax stands on his feet and denounce
“WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING?”
BONUS action; spell: compelled duel: he must make a wis save at least 12, if not he MUST attack him. Even if he does pass the save , as long as he tries to go away, as soon as he arrives at 30 feet from me, he must make another save or stop
OCC: I've only used 1 spell slot, so a short is fine

so be it: short rest, using a hit die 7
ooc: looking at your sheets, we are actually still at level 2...

((So short rest here in the inn, then off to the Manor? Or the tavern?))
ooc: the tavern after dinner, we said
my plan

"We can come up with a plan tonight, and begin to implement it tomorrow. I like Kai's idea, I just don't know where such a place could be.
By the way, has anybody heard from Odo lately? I'm sure he's just off raiding a local bakery or something..."
