Strix, as you follow Dekhan and Zoria out towards to crevasse, you take a good look. The bridge to the north seems fine, but the one to the south looks odd; you're not quite sure why. However, as you are contemplating it, you notice some movement behind a rock (A12) on the far side of the crevasse; something, you don't know what, is watching you all.

Scupper draws his bow and at the sound of Dekhan's voice (and possibly this new one in his head), moves forward to get a vantage point from the shadows.
Dekhan, the creature pops out from behind the rock and waves enthusiastically.
So many friends. Have you brought meat? I'm so HUNGRY!!!! It's not speaking words in any language; you're hearing the words telepathically in your heads, as you do from Incantis. But this creature seems - louder. And the last word feels like a shout, like your head is being shaken around, but from the inside. The force of it seems to startle the creature; it jumps behind the rock again.
As luck would have it, Strix has a few days worth of air-dried mouse jerky. But he's busy arguing with his landlord.

in fairness, it's not that high, I mean chummy boy there barely broke a sweat jumping it and that was his first try - do you think I've been doing all these squats because I want a round juicy arse? Well, ok, fine but it also means I can jump pretty high. Let me show you. Close your eyes. Dream of darkness and the fathomless gulfs between shadows.
FENCE.... IS... HIGH....
Fine, have it your way, but if it comes down to it, I bet Blinky over there wouldn't make me choose. Who will you go crying to then, hmmm?
Indeed I would not, my dear Malstrix. Why don't you both come and play? And share what you have in your pocket. I can tell you secrets, if you like...
Incantis, there is definitely something different about how this creature uses telepathy; not the ways you learned at all. You don't recognise the creature, though. Also, please make a Deception check.
The creature looks at the meat. Yummy yummy, but it does not move.
Strix, you are still very far from the crevasse and the creature, whatever it is. Do you want to move ahead of Dekhan and Zoria, or throw the meat perhaps?
You all remain on the very edges of the area where the crevasse splits the earth. If you wish to attack and begin combat, then you can do so. Or you can continue to engage in (telepathic) conversation with the creature if you prefer.
I am hungry. I have old meat. The creature steps out from behind the stone and seems to be pointing at something in the crevasse, but you can't see what it is from this angle. New meat. Give me new meat.
Dario watches as his compatriots try to communicate with the creature. He moves into a position behind the barrels and kneels down out of site of the creature. He notches an arrow into his bow and waits for the worse.

Strix takes his hand out of his empty pocket, a clenched fist.
the other pocket, Elminster
His other hand emerges, clenching a dried mouse.
Prefer share fist.
Youre so gauche, it appalls me that people think we're related
He struggles but is unable to prevent his hand from stretching out to offer the meat to his cycloptic new chum.

What do you seek, new friend? Other than meat of course.
I am hungry. I have old meat. The creature steps out from behind the stone and seems to be pointing at something in the crevasse, but you can't see what it is from this angle. New meat. Give me new meat.
It sighs. So very hungry...
