Everyone makes their way to their agreed positions. Scupper waits at the Wolf Cave with Ko and two other goblins; the others quietly move into position near, but not too near, the entrance to Klarg's cave. Ika and three other goblins have joined you, along with their wolf, Wolfie. Sildar is also with you, wielding a scimitar he has taken from a dead goblin, looking determined; it's clear that he is a skilled fighter. He nods to Vaz, indicating that injured though he is, he's ready, even eager, for the battle to begin.
Strix, you move forward to the mouth of the cave; this allows you to get a partial view of what's inside. You see four goblins inside; one armed with a shortbow, the others with scimitars, and they are on alert, scanning the area, including the cave entrance, for an attack they are obviously expecting. They look tired, but at full strength. You quickly duck back behind the wall, and it appears they have not yet seen you. You didn't get any sight of a bugbear matching Klarg's description, nor of a dwarf who might be Gundren Rockseeker.
Here is the map as it currently stands, before combat begins:
Strix can see that the campfire is lit, and would harm anyone who walked over it, yes.
Strix is up first, and runs into the cave to H8, launch his first attack at Goblin 1; his quarterstaff punches a hole through the chest of the unarmoured goblin, and it goes down in a single blow. Strix pivots and attempts to repeat the feat with the other end of the weapon, but Goblin 2 dodges and the blow whistles through the air.
So far, Goblins 3 & 4 can only see Strix, so they each make an attack upon him. Goblin 3 moves to H9 and swings his scimitar: Attack: 12 Damage: 7. But it goes wide. Goblin 4 shoots an arrow: Attack: 5 Damage: 6. It sails out of the cave mouth and lands in the pool, killing one small fish.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As no goblin emerges from the cave, Incantis moves to get a line of sight on the battle that has broken out; from F3 he is able to see Goblin 2, and shoots off an Eldritch Blast but misses.
From within the cave, you hear a loud snarl and a voice, seemingly too deep for a goblin, calls out kill the rats kill the rats kill the rats
Goblin 1 is dead.
Goblin 2 can now see Incantis, but wants to make an attack at Strix, who is right next to him: Attack: 16 Damage: 3 . It hits, but glances off Strix as though he was wearing armour (which he isn't).
Sildar is up next; with 30 feet of movement he is able to reach G8, where he makes an attack with his scimitar. Attack: 6 Damage: 6. Goblin 3 is wounded, but still standing. Lightning fast, Sildar brings the scimitar back for another blow at Goblin 3: Attack: 5 Damage: 2. This one seems like it will strike his head off, but the goblin brings up his own scimitar at the last moment and parries the blow; the clang rings loudly through the cave and echoes down the tunnel.
Vaz moves to G6 to get a clear view of the room, and rolls his ball of sundries towards Ripper the wolf. With his casting of Fire Bolt the ball catches fire; it doesn't seem to attract the notice of the goblins engaged in combat, but Ripper yelps and attempts to scuttle back away from it; he moves down to the crates at the far side of the cave, away from the ball of fire. Vaz then moves to F7 to keep the entrance to the cave clear for his allies.
Lok and Vojj were unable to get a good starting position in the cramped cave, so they don't have enough movement to reach the fight; they get as far as G4 and H5, and then take the dodge action.
Dekhan moves into the cave, sees Goblin 4 firing off an arrow, and chucks his javelin at him. It hits, and the goblin screams in pain but is still up. Dekhan then moves to the side to keep the entrance clear.
Dario is up next.
kill the rats kill the rats kill the rats kill the rats
Strix flows like a spilled glass of water over a once-important document, destroying what stands before him with a calm impassiveness. Kill the rats.... Is he the rat? No. He is a man. A.... Ratman? No, don't be silly. He is the Night Owl. It is known.
"Kill rats? Ha! Cannot kill Night!" He growls as blade and bolt whistle past him. It occurs to him that if Asher doesn't wade in soon then the Night will be very much over early. But for now he just hopes Ika has noticed and tries very hard not to pose too long between blows and parries.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I know Dario and Scupper haven't gone yet but I'm gonna put in my action for next round.
Incantis moves into H4, projecting his mind into everyone he can see and yelling "Get down! Grenade Out!"He casts minor illusion to create the image of a smoldering and crackling metal orb that he tosses into G9, hoping goblins 2&3 turn and run further into the cave.
Persuasion: 21

Incantis, half-elf warlock (great old one) 4/bard 1 ● Thorok Earthhand, hill dwarf mountain druid 6/grave cleric 2
Cragmyre Ironseed, earth genasi ancestral barbarian 3 ● Cyrus Natriallae, aquatic half-elf warlock of the deep 3
Dario, your arrow misses the target and hits what seems to be a large wooden box, one of several stacked at the far end of Klarg's cave.
Scupper, you descend the rope as Ko and the other two goblins take the strain, keeping very quiet as you drop down into the cave (to C8). When you reach the bottom, you are able to see the inside of the cave, as the campfire, though not blazing, is lit and illuminates the surroundings. You see the former captive Sildar alongside Strix, facing off against two goblins in the centre of the room. You see Ripper the wolf jump back and run from a flaming ball sent across the room by Vaz. You think you see a goblin with a bow, across the other side of the cave from you. And then you turn to the left, and in front of you, there is a large bugbear wearing scraps of leather armour, standing in the corner of the cave (C6). He has not noticed you yet, and is about ten feet from you. He's repeating again and again, in a loud, low growl, kill the rats kill the rats kill the rats
Scupper, you have used 20 feet of movement to come down the slope, treating it as difficult terrain. You now have 5 ft of movement yet, as well as your action and possibly a bonus action. Klarg has not seen you, though might, depending on what you do next. There is no sign of a dwarf in the cavern, as far as you can tell. What would you like to do?
Asher moves to F8 and makes his first glaive attack upon Goblin 2, but misses. The pommel of the glaive comes in to strike against the same enemy, and hits. Goblin 2 is still standing, but only barely.
Ika moves to H4 and shoots her bow, attempting to finish off Goblin 2: Attack: 23 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.. It's the end of Goblin 2, as Ika's arrow pierces its throat, and with a gurgle it drops.
Opo moves to the entrance of the cave at G5, and shoots an arrow at Goblin 3: Attack: 11 Damage: 5. It sticks in the goblin's side but seems to have missed anything vital, as the Goblin grunts and focuses its attention on Strix.
I'll wait to resolve the rest of Scupper's turn before continuing.
Actually I'm also awake but since Scupper doesn't act until he hears the shit hit the fan...I'm waiting
Shouldn't be long. I'm flinging shit everywhere ;)

Varinth runs to H4 and casts Control Fire on the camp fire making it writhe with flickering devils and clawing hands and doubling it's brightness.
mmMMMWAHAHAHAHA! Varinth has obviously practiced his evil laugh on more than one occasion.
Apologies. Forgot I pre Planned that
Scratch that.
That will have to be next round, I think, as Varinth has already cast a spell this round?
Yeah sorry forgot I had preplanned.
