Dekhan looks to his friends before releasing the drow.
Dek feels like he’s going with the party line. The moral flexibility of the group should allow for the release of this fella, he thinks. If he’s wrong, though and anyone has any objections, interjections, or requests before Strix’s handy manacles come off, that’s what he’s checking for now.
OOC: I've got no problem releasing him into the world but wouldn't be surprised if he turned on us during combat. Drow are known betrayers, slavers and liars. If this guy, with his nearly dead HP fights with us, I'll be behind him, ready to end him if he makes a wrong move.
((That’s basically my line of thinking as well. This drow is gonna serve his own best interests, which seem for the moment to align with ours. And, if not, Scupper sneak attacks him.))
The drow, still restrained in his manacles, looks at Varinth's hand. That would make me more effective in combat, certainly. He glances over at Strix who is presumably still pecking at the bugbears, and grimaces.
((Are we planning on heading straight into the Spider’s parlor after this or are we going to try to get a rest in? As it stands Dek’s got 23 points of laying on hands left, two spell slots, and he’s burned his radiant soul for the day. If we’re going to heal him and then go straight through I would give our new friend a potion of healing so that I’ve got the lay on hands and spells for mid battle type stuff. If we’re gonna kip and go in full strength I’ll burn spells and healing hands to get everyone full up.))
I would have told my employer... my former employer... that the path to the Forge has been cleared. I assume it is within that building, no? He nods over to the nearby room. He has wanted the forge for some time. But he is cautious, and not the type simply to burn a cavern of unknown fungal growths in the hopes that nothing deadly occurs. He smiles grimly. You are reckless, but bolder than him, to be sure. Perhaps you will prevail when you face him.
(We'll rest one last time, taking shifts to watch over Drowy, and release him then to attack with us. Dek can heal him more since the rest will reset his hands but we'll not take off those amazing manacles til we're all set to move... I'll sleep better that way)
You settle together in the Forge room, to the light of the green flame dancing on the brazier. The drow is fascinated, staring at the Forge even as you drag him and dump him in a corner. It's... not as I expected. Not quite what he thinks either. Does it still work?
Dekhan, your watch passes peacefully. Who's up next?
(Varinth will go fourth, but still need a second and third...)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

You set up a camp, and spend the night on watch or at rest. Your prisoner, though uncomfortable in his manacles, sleeps most of the night, though Varinth you do see him awake during your watch, mostly staring at you. When you notice and look over at him, he shrugs but says nothing and continues to watch you.
You've mostly lost sense of the passage of time in this underground complex, the longest you've spent away from the sun during your adventures. You all awake and pack up camp, with little idea of what time it is in the outside world, but with a sense that your time here is coming towards an end.
Finally, the prisoner speaks. As you see, I have made no attempt to escape. Will you unshackle me now? I can hardly fight while restrained, now can I?
Is there anything you wish to do here before you move on? I assume you are planning to ask the drow to lead you directly to where his former employer is?

Varinth Vaz holds out his hand to the drow Varinth Tannerman. I make things go *hic* boom. He smiles widely
Perhapsh we should heal you up before we *hic* get thish show underway

Oopsh Varinth will try that again when the manacles have been taken off.
Sho, (Insert Drows Name) had things gone better for you.. your attack, and we had been *hic* dead, what would you do? Who would you report to?
((I'm up for either, All my big spell slots are gone))

For your sake, and ours, lets hope so.

Okay, give me a first watch, second watch, third watch and fourth watch, and a Perception roll for each. Are you sheltering inside the Forge room?
Dekhan can take the first watch. I think the forge room is the best option. perception 11
Varinth will take forth watch
Perception: 3

((Should we go to Nezznar first or directly to the spider? I hate the thought of getting flanked by magic))
As the party rouses and Incantis finishes attuning to the ring forged by spells, he approaches the drow. Do you know Vyerith?
Incantis, half-elf warlock (great old one) 4/bard 1 ● Thorok Earthhand, hill dwarf mountain druid 6/grave cleric 2
Cragmyre Ironseed, earth genasi ancestral barbarian 3 ● Cyrus Natriallae, aquatic half-elf warlock of the deep 3
Incantis, the drow looks at you. I do not know the name.
Varinth, with only a mild to pounding headache, turns to Strix
Can we take the manacles off now? I think he wants to give me a hug.
He looks at the drow with a cheeky smile
The brazier works as far as we can tell. Enchants things. Temporarily I think. Doesn't work on hair. What's your name by the way?
I am Vhalak, the drow replies.
