You are all able to pick up the trail and continue following it without much trouble. Idalie, being a little more nimble than the rest of you, scouts ahead a little and comes back to report what she sees.)

From that upper forest to the Goblins it's about 70 feet. I'll say you can get to the edge of the forest unnoticed without having to roll stealth, but if you want to sneak past the edge you're going to have to roll for stealth. )

Nate listens as Idalie explains our surroundings and what she has seen. He can feel the excitement course through his veins as she describes the lay of the land.
Nate whispers: "I think we have found what we are looking for everyone. I think this might be the perfect time to try out that crazy plant spell I was telling you guys about last night... if it works, then they won't be able to move and you all can have your way with them."
Nate will move up to the edge of the forest that we are currently in and attempt to sneak across that upper path and into the forest patch just above the goblins. If successful, he will wait there and watch how the others make their moves.
Stealth check to sneak across the road into the upper forest above the goblins: 4

Quinn follows Nate to the edge of the forest, and watches as he goes to run to the other side of the opening, only to trip as he gets out.
A realisation hits Quinn that if he doesn't act fast one of the goblins could try and alert others. So Quinn comes up with make shift plan, as a child Quinn had heard that hobgoblins where stronger than goblins; and more like leaders, he also had seen books with hobgoblins in.
Quinn uses (Disguise Self) to look like a hobgoblin, then motions to the others to stay.
"Find a way round, 'cause we gonna need your help when this goes to hell."
Quinn walks out to where Nate had fell and grabs him by the shirt and leans into him and whisperers.
"Just go a long with it, act hurt."
Quinn then drags Nate to his feet and pushes him towards the goblins, sword against his back.
*just in case you need a deception roll for this (Deception)18
Quinn walks Nate slowly towards the goblins giving his group members time to get to a position of attack.
After an uneventful night brightened by a hearty meal of roasted boar and another half day spent tracking their prey, her new party finds trouble again soon enough. Though it at least seems to be of the right variety this time. Two goblins guarding the entrance of a cave(?). A cave they will be hard pressed to approach without being seen. Before the gnome can suggest they pull back and form some kind of plan, Nate is taking matters into his own hands. Offering to take care of the two at the entrance with a spell he had in fact told them about last night. While she'd been fascinated by the conversation and is admittedly more than a little curious to see it in action Idalie is about to insist that he at least take someone with him but before she can he's gone. Not making it far before tripping quite neatly and most likely giving away his and their presence. Thinking on his feet, Quin rushes in. Disguising himself as a hobgoblin and quickly grabbing up their druid. Knowing things are only bound to go downhill from here, Idalie quickly notches an arrow to her long bow and moves to just within the treeline. Prepared to offer the two what cover she can if things get ugly. Gauging the distance between her and the goblins to be about 150 feet, meaning just within her range.

(Nate discusses his plan with the rest of the party and tries to stealthily make his way to the edge of the forest, waiting for the perfect moment to make his way to the cover to the north of the Goblins. He waits until the serious-looking goblin is scanning the southern area and the lazy goblin is busy reading what appears to be a goblin nudie magazine to make his way to the north forest. About halfway there, he trips and falls, making a huge noise and commotion that alerts the Goblins.)
"What the...? Who goes there!?"
(With some quick thinking, Quinn uses Disguise Self to take on the appearance of a Hobgoblin and comes out of the edge of the forest, picking up Nate by the shirt. He places a sword against his back and acts like he's walking a prisoner towards the Goblins. The Goblins look very worried at the sight of the mean looking Hobgoblin. The lazy one fully believes you are a Hobgoblin, but the more serious one looks you over suspiciously before yelling at you in broken Common.)
"HEY! This is Sarris' cave. We were here first! We don't want any trouble! Go away, or Sarris will take care of you good!"
(The serious goblin says something to the lazy one in Goblin. Since none of you speak it, you're not sure what he said, but he gave a slight nod towards the entrance of the cave, leading you to believe they're about ready to make a run for it unless you give them a reason not to. Back at the edge of the forest, Idalie readies her Longbow and has the Goblins in her sights.)
DMs note: Oooh, you guys made this interesting. Ok, you've got a few options here, tell me what you want to do, roleplay it and I'll tell you what to roll.
"There were a few adventures skulking around, and as I was on my way to speak with Sarris anyway I thought I'd pick up a gift." (Grinning menacingly whilst pointing a Nate)
"The rest won't be of any trouble." ( Quinn says cackling loudly)
Quinn continues to walk towards the goblins
"This isn't the warm welcome I expected. Where are the rest of you?" (Quinn asks trying to probe information out of the goblins)
"No matter, the scout we sent ahead of time must have be intercepted. Now will one of you take hold of my gift! How about you Dopey? As you are the only one that didn't even notice me coming. (Quinn says pointing at the lazy goblin)(Also trying to make the serious goblin not to question Quinn's arrival, by get him to lie about noticing Quinn)
Quinn looks the serious goblin dead in the eyes.
"I need to discuss a golden opportunity with Sarris." (Grinning menacingly again)

She lines her crossbow up ready towards the lazy goblin. DMs note: Brom, if you are coming to the edge of the forest you don't need a stealth check. If you mean to say you're going to that northern forest then you do need to roll another Stealth check because you do have disadvantage due to your armor and I've got to tell you the DC is very high because the Goblins are now alert. Sorry to negate your good roll, but you might still somehow pull it off. Let me know if I misunderstood what you wanted to do.
(Omnia climbs up a tree and readies her Crossbow as the scene unfolds below.)
(Quinn has put on quite a performance here, very convincing, to the point that even the skeptical, serious Goblin seems to be mulling things over for a moment, before making a decision.)
"Ok... you want to cut deal with Sarris, we'll see if he wants to cut a deal with you. Krog, go get Sarris... and the others."
(A cunning little smile appears on the Goblin's face as the Lazy Goblin starts to go towards the stone ruins behind them at a light jog.)
"Strict orders not to let anyone in, but Sarris may speak with you out here. You make yourself comfortable."
(He points at a little rock the lazy goblin was sitting at. There's a water skin and a magazine there.)
DMs note: Quinn sent a DM asking if he could roll Insight to see if the serious goblin was planning something. Just want to bring that to the main thread. Also, just so you all have an idea of placement, the lazy goblin has just started going towards the cave, so he's only about 5-10 feet away from where he was just standing.
(Quinn looks at the serious goblin, trying to figure out what he's up to. It doesn't seem to Quinn that the goblin is going to 'try' anything, more that he is trying to do what is most logical and safe for his group, and is proud of his own cleverness.)

Quinn not knowing whether or not it would be best to engage Serris, out in the open and let him come outside or if it would be best to get him alone, Quinn comes up with the second part of the very haphazard plan.
"First you, don't give me a proper reception! Now you want me to wait outside, because think I'm going to do something! Think how Serris is going to react when he finds out how you treated your guest, let alone the fact that you are bothering him because you couldn't make the judgement call! Nate is extremely nervous (which probably helps the case).
Since he blew it when he jumped the gun earlier, he decides to let his comrades make their moves. While going into the tomb alone with the goblin is the last thing he wants, it definitely is an intriguing plan.
As she takes her position at the treeline, Idalie's eyes are drawn upwards by a soft ruffling sound in the tree above her. She meets Omnia's gaze with an easy if worried smile, more glad than she can say to have the woman at her back, before turning her focus back to the scene unfolding in front of them. Quin plays his part well and Nate seems as nervous as anyone would be being held captive by a hobgoblin. The sentries seem to buy his story too, but when one turns to go roust their leader and the rest of their group the gnome starts to get a little nervous. On the one hand, drawing the whole lot of them out into the open will mean they won't have to fight their way through the cave but it also means that any excuse for stealth that they have left is about to go right out the window. A part of her is tempted to shoot an arrow into the one scurrying to fetch the others but she resists and he's soon out of her range anyways. Leaving the one still talking to Quin. Quin who still seems to be trying to convince the remaining goblin to listen to him. To take Nate into the cave and put him where they keep other prisoners. She hates the thought of sending the druid into that place alone, no matter how quick a way it would be to verify the girl's location but still she holds off attacking. Waiting to see how things unfold and hoping the outcome is a favorable one.
((I'm excited to see how this turns out too! XD Gonna be an interesting combat encounter no matter how it shapes up.))
