Gerald looks around through a forest of legs. Marketplaces are always so unattractive, unless you gaze just right. Eyes alighting on the steel clad human ahead of him he smiles and this could be just what I am looking for.Walking up behind Beetlejuice he knocks on the back of his thigh to get his attention.
"Oi biggie, I got a mutually beneficial proposition for you"
"Do you fancy being my mount? I can ride on your back and be your artillery or support attack as you engage monsters, I would fit in your back pack and we could do very well together. That fact you're wearing all that metal leads me to believe my small frame would be no inconvenience to you." The small (even for a halfling) 2'7" bright eyed smiling countenance of Gerald looks up in a winning smile and expectant manner
"I can also provide entertainment and comfort as we progress, after all what is life but a serious of things to be enjoyed? I am driven by the wind and am free to join you and yours in all manner of escapades" As Gerald finishes his pitch he casts a small prestidigitation and the smell of fresh baked bread and a mild comforting warmth permeates the area between the two.
Tasras stands to his full height and lets his barbed tail flick out to show his irritation towards the elf. "I am no fool. I may not have your zpecial teachings from books and your precious teachers but I am smart where it matters. Now before you speak again you should lnow that even a lone wolf is wise enough to see that hunting in a pack has advantages." At the end of this he moved and flapped his wings until he was in the air a few movemtns of his wings sent him towards the center of the market place.

Rekuberk Onc Level 8 | Half Orc | Barbarian (The Tales of the Fellowship of the White Cloaks)
Wandering around with a bit of meat and some fruits, looking at the others and pausing to look up at a flying being. It took him a second to recognize that it wasn't an enemy before smiling up at the person, 'What a blessing it must be to soar in the air, one day I must find a way. It would be lovely, and must be gorgeous seeing so much of the world at once.'
“Ahhh Gerald, my little friend, that is definitely an interesting proposition. I don’t see why not at some point but for now just stay close and let’s Get this show on the road. You are correct thoug you could sit a top my shoulders and be the cannon on that tank”
"True lad but then it also makes you a wonderous target too. Not to speak the obvious, even though I'm gonna but would you not see more without the cloth on your eyes?" Curiosity raised Gerald looks more intently at the blindfolded individual near him. Looking further up at the flying demonic apparition above them he cups his hands around his mouth and bellows, "OI FLAPPER!! Do you not think that maybe your display is gonna upset the kiddies? Come back and don't be so thin skinned."
'Beetlejuice we have the makings of an agreement, for now I know my marching order... always behind you' With an infectious laugh the halfling pulls a small flask of brandy from his hip, sips it and then raises it high 'Too new beginnings and comforts to be had.' Taking a healthy swig he then proffers the flask to Beetlejuice and the others.
The small halfling would cause Tasras to turn midflight and pause, looking towars the figure. "Child you would do well to hold your tongue or else I will be forced to take a switch to your backside to teach proper respect for your elders."

Rekuberk Onc Level 8 | Half Orc | Barbarian (The Tales of the Fellowship of the White Cloaks)
Smiling his mouth not moving at the slightest, "Well of course, but my eyes make others uncomfortable so I cover them. I do not want to upset anyone, I only want to enjoy myself and hopefully view more of the world and the precious things that dwell with in it. I apologize for you hearing me, I was thinking too deeply and must have touched your mind." Pulling a card from his robe and handing it to Gerald. It was simple and the language on it bizarre but shifting every couple seconds to another language. After a heartbeat or two it reads common. 'Greeting, I am Shirin. I am mute and unable to speak, I may talk through minds. May I have your permission to do so?'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Staring puzzledly at the tiefling, 'Too grim, what is the point of life if you're not enjoying it? Might as well give up the struggle lie down somewhere and let entropy take you. The highest gift or respect we can give the gods, ourselves or others is joy. It is this that separates us from the animals, but if joy is beyond you then fear not my friend I will both drink your share and make it my mission in life to teach you to smile... Nothing is ever hopeless." Suiting actions to words Gerald smiles at the flying humanoid raises his flask to him, sips again and says 'Whilst we wait I may see if I can earn a little coin'
'Now that is truly special, something indeed to experience, you always have permission to "speak" with me mind to mind I find it an intriguing and new thing.'
Gerald backs off into a small clear patch of the market, keeping an eye on Beetlejuice, places his cap on the ground at his feet and produces a pan pipe from within his shirt and proceeds to play - trying to entice those that pass by to reward his efforts 18 (this is my performance check btw)
"Thank you. I have to ask, or some people will think I am committing a foul act or Cast magic on them. So I had a wizard make me that card to ask, it works about three out of four times. I use words to be simple, but I can use less civilized means to convey my feelings and thoughts. It is merely ability that was gifted to me." Shirin follows and stays near Gerald but trying not to interfere with his playing and making some coins.
'Well the true beauty of your form of communication is that we can talk whilst I play, one the restrictions of a wind instrument is the inability to convers normally but now tis the best of both worlds' Keeping an eye on Beetlejuice the "Metalman" Gerald continues to play and chat amicably with Shirirn sharing humorous stories and unlikely tales generally passing the time til the group is ready to leave
"Thank you, the true beauty is something different but it would interfere with your playing. Maybe after you are done, I will be in town for a while. I am wanting to see what is happening deeper inside, it seems to be a unique occurrence." Shirin stays a comfortable distance speaking and telling tells of his own in return, none about his odd habits of speech or his eyes.
Those of you looking for a "quest board" or notice board or anything like that find nothing of the sort in Symon Square.
Dozaka: You don't spy anyone particularly familiar beyond the regular merchants.
Tarvis: There is an herbalist in the square in a small tent, from which a strong scent of incense emanates. Do you enter?
Gerald: A young man carrying a crate pauses near you and sets the crate down, taking a seat atop it. He begins to slap out a simple accompanying drum beat on the crate.
Gerald plays along with the young man, sometimes letting him take the lead and sometimes taking it himself, trying to make pleasurable impromptu pieces to be enjoyed by all. He will continue to play until something happens to disturb this or Beetlejuice and the others head off. His main focus is the "Metalman" as that's who he is planning on hiding behind when traveling/exploring.
OCC: Hopefully as he is medium and I am small he provides some cover for me, not to mention the halfling lightfoot ability to hide behind a medium or bigger companion :) Also DM here is the link to my character sheet: https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/Oakbind/characters/8164896
After playing awhile, Gerald looks around and finds a spice shop, ducks over and buys a selection of herbs and spices for cooking, thanks the purveyor profusely and goes back to making music, thinking game meat is made all the better with the right spices and the Mire will provide him with plenty of opportunity to bag some meat and forage some greens. He is ready to go when everyone else is and spending time happily
OCC: Im not sure what price you wanted to charge for herbs and spices but once you tell me I will deduct it from my CS. Also DM you didn't tell me if my roll of 14 for performance was enough to gather any gold for my busking
Shadow walks into the herbalists tent. "Greetings, this one's name is Shadow. I'm new in town and look for work of the adventuring variety. Would you be able to point me in the right direction." He then gives a polite bow.
Travis who was looking for the herbalist... Exsaperated with the brash overconfident feral teifling... But no longer caring to argue... Goes with shadow to their tent... On the way he says... "Between you and me i do not like our feral friend... He is a danger to team moral... If only there was a way to make him understand... I respect his talent... But even a fool when he keeps his mouth shut can seem wise..." Once at the tent Tarvis asks if the herbalist would pay for the "gathing of earbs or ingredients... Or possible special orders..."
OOC to Gerald: No reaction beyond the man joining you on his improvised drum. The spices will be 1 silver.
All who enter the Herbalist's tent: A thick layer of smoke washes over you and the aroma of a variety of herbs, some pleasant and others not so much, assault your senses.
The cloaked woman within the tent leans over a set of bubbling flasks and bowls. She does not look up at Shadow nor Tarvis, she simply utters
"Shadow sap from the Darkwillows from deep within the Mire...I'll pay a pretty penny for it. Ask not what I need it for. It's a private matter. If you cannot accept these terms, look elsewhere for your coin."
