Nice crit! too bad you got that 1 on the second die. Still solid hit!
Thorum aims true and out of habit puts an arrow right into it's eye. Everyone can see it's a skilled shot and would have probably dropped a different creature but the skeletal minotaur just shakes its head against it's shoulder snapping the arrow off. It still causes 13 dmg! and you can see the minotaur wobble a bit.
Roger action surging scores 2 solid hits on the minotaur and as the second one lands whatever force was holding the minotuar together fails and it clatters apart into a pile of bones as it's great axe falls to the floor with a clank.
You folks head further into the cave remembering hearing two axes dragging. You can faintly hear one dragging now but it sounds like it's getting further away from you. You get into another area where you can see worn trails on the floor. The dragging sound is coming from the eastern passage.
Thorum says “Two paths in this chamber. Should we stalk this noise or go the other way? My thought would be to track and take it out now so it cannot sneak behind our group later, especially if we are currently engaged with something.”
"I'm happy to do either. It and its colleague that we just killed clearly have been following these trails, so if we avoid the trails in the dust we should be able to avoid it. And it's making enough noise that I can't imagine it successfully sneaking up on us. But I would agree that the prudent thing would be to take it out now."
"If this next creature has the same single-mindedness as the Minotaur did, maybe we could have Belialuin shape the earth in front of it's predictable path. If it's within his abilities, we could use it to trip the creature making it fall prone. It would certainly make it easier to attack."
"I think it's sentient enough not to be tripped by a change in the floor of the cavern. The first one left its tracks to come and attack us. Why don't we lie in wait for it, and when it next comes around, Wormsquirt, you sneak up and surprise attack it, then the rest of us charge/shoot if it's still up and fighting" (I wanted to say still alive, but clearly not!).
OOC: It's probably been back around multiple times whilst we've been waiting for Belialuin to act.
OOC: I think the suggestion was more to pile dirt up in its path in advance of it coming round, rather than be able to bury it. The mold earth spell wouldn't move enough dirt for that, right? It states that it's not enough to cause damage, so the thought is more to trip it and cause it to be prone before we attack, rather than have the mold earth actually be the attack - or am I reading that all completely wrong?
(So yeah, you can use mold earth to make the stone under it into difficult terrain. It may have enough single mindedness to fall. We'd have to see. You could also use it to pull a 5' block of stone out of the ceiling and drop it on him, may knock him down too. We'd have to see how the rolls come out)
With that said, it seems like Wormsquirt you're going to hide somewhere to try for sneak attack, the rest of you are going to find a spot to wait near the path until it comes your way? Belialuin is going to be ready for mold earth? Is that pretty much the plan of attack?

That puts us at Roger.

Mysti casts cure wounds on Zarbof for 4
Zarbof will warily keep walking further towards the south end of the current cavern, keeping alert for more danger.
Perception: 19
(I'm sure you said we heard the sound of 2 heavy metal objects dragging, so suspect there's a second minotaur patrolling the worn track in the dust.)

'Agreed" says Mysti, "Would rather not have stuff coming up behind us during other encounters."

Sounds good to Mysti, she then tries to find a somewhat obscured spot along the cavern walls.
Wormsquirt will find a place to try and hide until ready.
Thorum will find a good spot beyond the close up fighters and ready his trusty longbow.
Ghosts of Saltmarsh - DM
Yeah, that's pretty much the plan. Zarbof will try to hide vaguely out of sight but close enough to jump out and be there quickly if/ when it falls.
