Thorum, you find a whopping 18 copper on the Minotaur. That's all it has aside from the great axe. There isn't anything else in the area around the pillar of interest.
Zarbof, in the next cavern area you can see a pool of water off to the side.
Inspecting the pool you can see some tracks and scuff marks on the edge. Probably from the bats and some other small critter tracks. The water is very clear and deep. You can see the bottom of the pool drops away steeply towards the back and disappears from view.
(There aren't any specific checks for swimming. You're speed is halved and you can hold your breath for 1min + 1 min per CON modifier. If you want to try and be stealthy swimming I'd need that check and if you encounter any current or obstacles I'd ask for a check then too)
Ok, so Mysti will jump in then and see what she can find. Mysti will dive down and see if there is anything in there..."I'm going swimming guys, be right back." she says as she dives in.
It's cold! You dive down following an underground tunnel. You can see some small bones at the deepest part and then it slopes back up. After swimming perhaps 80' you can see the waters surface on the other side. It's illuminated by a yellowish glow. The pool on the other side is larger and more shallow. Stretching maybe 50'
Coming to the surface so only your head is sticking above the water you see a pedestal carved with strange markings and a small glowing statue. The statue looks to be a small humanoid figure. The cavern itself is small with only about 20' of land on the other side of the water. Looking around you see the walls are also carved with strange markings.
"I think we need to go back through and check out that room on the other side of the pool." Mysti tells the group. "There are runes there I cannot read, in Elvish I think. I also didn't fully explore it so there is that also.."
Thorum will step over and pat Wormsquirt on the shoulder. "Well struck my friend."
I will also look at the corpse for anything valuable.

OOC: what would a swimming check be if Mysti was to dive in and check out the deeper end of the pool

(what check should I do) history? insight?
(you can do a history)
You come out of the water carefully and as you approach the shore the runes on the wall nearest you start glowing with an angry red light.

At this point Mysti will head back to alert the other and bring the group back here...someone probably can read the runes...
OK. So Mysti swims back through the pool and reports what she saw to the rest of the party.

"Well, I don't speak Elvish, but you're asking a dwarf to take part in exploring an underground cave. I'm in."
