Passing through area 3 you see a blacksmith hard at work. It appears that everything the garrison needs to make weapons, armor, and metal tools and implements is present.
Moving to area 4 you find a small bazaar. A dozen traders live within the fort and manage its bazaar. Soldiers from the fort are only a tiny part of their business. Most of their trade involves selling gear to explorers and supplies to miners. The traders also buy and sell gems, hides, animal parts (feathers, teeth, and so forth), and small animals.
Kirinar looks over the stores and their wares. Similar in set-up, but different in the products carried, to his hometown on the edge of the swamp, the young man actually feels a bit nostalgic! "Excuse me, sir, we are looking for the guide Qawasha. Do you know him, and perhaps where we might find him?"
As you make your way into the fort Rokah splits from the party. He whispers "Don't forget our bargain as he leaves. Today, soon."
As you walk through the stalls of the bazaar you ask around for Qawasha.
One of the merchants nods. "Yeah he's around here somewhere. There he is."
You see a man with a staff come around a tent. You approach him.
"I am Qawasha and this is my friend Kupalué." He refers to a 3 foot tall weedy creature that accompanies him. It waves but says nothing.
"Yes I can guide you in the jungle. The fee is 5 gold per day. But I'll waive the fee if you help me destroy any undead we come across. I know Chult better than any and will guide you well and keep you alive."
At the mention of destroying undead, Timber flashes a wicked grin. "Considering what a pack of ghouls did to my last group, I will happily help destroy undead. If it means a free guide, all the better!"
In an act of pure curiosity, Timber approaches the walking plant. Not saying anything for a few moments as he bends down and examines the creature, he finally speaks, as he takes a few steps back. "An interesting companion you have my friend.'
"Yes, he is a vegepygmy. That is a Chultan word that means “walking weed.” We have travelled together for many years. So when do you wish to set out? Is there something specific you are looking for? Lost cities, treasure? I would also recommend a charter of exploration. The Fist can be rather brutal to those they find that does not have one."
The tortle walks up to Qawasha and the vegepygmy and says “greetings my name is Dr Arbutaveyu and I am a researcher of the Arcane late of the Great library at Candlekeep.” He turns to the party “so how are going to live up to our commitment to our fellow traveller.”

"Well, we already have a charter, so that is taken care of. We could act like we're rip-snorted and stumble to the front of the headquarters, then proceed to cause a commotion and try to distract all within. That should let Rokah get in. I mean, look at us - we're a walking circus already so getting all the Fist's attention shouldn't be too hard! Right?" Kirinar is young and bold, but from a simple town with simple people. Will his plan work? Who knows?!!?
"Right. Rokah thinks the Flaming Fist is in league with pirates but needs proof to bring to the authorities. We are supposed to create a distraction so that he can ransack the commander’s quarters and find said proof. So, what do you think? The new adventurers in town get a little drunk on their first night here, and we stumble to the Fist's place and cause a little ruckus? Maybe we're daring each other to do 'Feats of Strength and Valor' and end up setting something on fire...or doing such outrageous things that they all want to come out and watch. I saw a small troupe empty out a known pirates' bar with a dancing bear in a tutu...who was actually a druid...all while the rest of the party snuck in the back of the building and ransacked the treasure chests in the basement! Ahh...good times!"
“I‘ve not been drunk since I was hatchling far too long ago when I woke up in a back alley in a town whose name I can’t even remember” says Dr Arbutaveyu, “however I’m happy to play a supporting role. Just tell me what you want me to do” he finishes with.
Timber grins, "Who says we need drinks to have some fun? All you need is a little confidence. Can I borrow some daggers?" He pulls out his two daggers, closes his eyes for a second and starts to concentrate and the daggers blades appear to ignite on fire. (Minor Illusion)
He then starts to whistle and tap his foot to get a rhythm as tosses them into the air, and starts to practice juggle "If any of you guys have any daggers, just toss them over and I will add them in!" Once he has 3-4 dagger he lowers his voice, "I am going to go and see if I can get their attention." he then catches the daggers and stops for a moment. At the top of his voice, he calls out "GOOD DAY EVERYONE! MY NAME IS TIMBER AND I HAVE A SPECIAL SHOW FOR YOU ALL!" Holding two daggers in each hand, blades still flickering with fire, he closes his eyes and starts to whistle. Then from the spot he is standing, a copy of Timber takes a couple of steps, as if stepping out of a mirror whistling a slightly different melody and starts to juggle. This happens another two times until there are 4 different copies of Timber whistling slightly different but complimentary tunes at different tones that complement each other and all juggling four flaming daggers. (Mirror Image)
Keyleth glances over at Doc as Timber begins his performance. "Much better than anything I would have come up with. I tend to specialize in not being the focus of anyone's attention."
As Timber begins to juggle the knives and make copies of himself he begins to gather a crowd. Many of the shopkeepers in the bazaar start to leave their stalls and a small crowd begins to form around Timber as he continues his act. Eventually a few of the guards begin to come close to see what the commotion is about. But at the present none move to stop you. As the crowd grows bigger more soldiers move closer in. Many appear to be enjoying the show.
Timber, I need a performance check, with advantage please.
Dr Arbutaveyu takes the opportunity of Timber’s distraction to move next to one of the guards where he then says “he’s quite good isn’t he” which he then follows up with a question “so how long have you been here?”

((So, what are you guys up to? ))
(does timber have jungle supplies or do I need to buy some more?)
(Waiting for Esker to chime in and make a suggestion on how we create a ruckus. This is not Dr Arbutaveyu’s area of expertise.)
