"Although there is a chance this creature only eats plants - since the area has been stripped clear of vegetation - there is also a chance that we would be mere tidbits for a greater appetite...I'd rather not find out if we can avoid it!" He keeps watch for the giant creature while Keyleth gives the area a quick investigation...
The amphitheater is an open-air, semicircular structure with tiered seats overlooking a ruined stage. The Omuans used it for public debates and plays both comic and tragic. Narrow passages and rubble-strewn chambers spread beneath the grandstands.
As Keyleth looks around quickly she finds several relics lying about and quickly gathers them up. She believes she heard some noise in the deeper parts of the chambers.
She brings back an electrum platter inscribed with images of Chultan feasting rituals (25 gp), an Omuan death mask made of painted gold (250 gp), and a gold/bronze helmet
Meanwhile Dr A is certain that whatever left the piles dung was both a plant eater and a meat eater and obviously very large. And while Ransyl looks up in the sky to find the source Dr A can tell that these droppings didn't splat when they landed and were deposited by a large land creature.
Keyleth returns to the group with her findings. "No cube, but I did find these things," she says. "Does this helmet seem like your style, Kirinar?"
"There are also some passages underneath the grandstands. Shall we check them out? I'm hoping it's not whatever made this; seems like something that size probably couldn't fit underneath."
Kirinar takes the helmet and looks it over. "Maybe...Maybe Dr. A can help us identify it or see if it has any magical properties later. If you don't think this massive creature can get into the tunnels, then let's go check them out!" He tucks the bronze helmet into his backpack for later examination, then takes the lead if the party heads down into the underthing...
As you move deeper into the maze of rooms below the amphitheater you pass through narrow passages and rubble-strewn chambers. The hallways are darkened, but enough light filters in from above that even Kirinar can see well enough.
Suddenly the sound of small wings fills the air as you have disturbed a room full of small creatures and they attack!
These horrid monster looks like a cross between a large bat and an oversized mosquito. Their legs end in sharp pincers, and their long, needle-like proboscis slash the air as they seek to feed on the blood of living creatures, being you!
At least a dozen of the small creatures swarm around you attacking and trying to land on you!
Initiative will be players first, then monsters.
Artus will draw his dagger and start slashing at the creatures.
Keyleth tries the same maneuver as before, slowing down slightly to try to improve her aim. She goes first for the stirge on Kirinar using her shortsword
Attack (shortsword): 19 Damage: 5
and then quickly attacks again with the dagger in her other hand (at the same one if the first attack misses, otherwise at another one):
Deep in the bowels of the amphitheater you find a sealed room. The door is locked and the dust on the ground indicates the room has been undisturbed for many years.
Keyleth finds that the room is not trapped in any way and with some effort she is able to bypass the lock system and open the door.
Inside the room you find all sorts of weapons and armor.
There are sets of Ring, Chain and Splint mail as well as Chain Shirts, Scale Mail and Breastplates. Also found are sets of Studded Leather Armor and shields.
There are racks of weapons with swords, axes, spears, javelins and nets and other weapons. Barrels hold crossbow bolts and arrows while longbows and crossbows hang from the walls.
Ransyl finds an especially nice battleaxe that feels lighter and better than the rest (Battleaxe +1)
Keyleth also finds a bundle of 10 arrows with feel lighter and stronger than the others (10 Arrows +1)
In a small box Timber finds a ring (Ring of Protection)
At this point, since I haven't been tracking heat and exhaustion and water needs re armor you can suit up as desired.

Ransyl hits the last one and it explodes into little pieces.
Deep in the bowels of the amphitheater you find a sealed room. The door is locked and the dust on the ground indicates the room has been undisturbed for many years.
"Well this is exciting," Keyleth says. "Who knows what might be in here? Doc, want to give me a guiding hand with this door?"
She moves forward and, after giving the door a quick check for traps (Investigation: 19), she attempts to pick the lock (unless she finds a trap).
