Seldor is drunk and as a result, he's slightly disoriented when the guard hands him the reins, but he's not going to leave this poor man hanging. "Sure, sure, what the hell? Hey guys, help me out with this thing, will you?"

Seldor, you take the reins and the grateful griffon rider hurries into a nearby storefront. You look at the leather cords in your hand and then at the Griffon. It's quite large and it's golden yellow eyes are staring intently at you. It yawns and shakes it's head, ruffling it's feathers before looking around. The griffon suddenly lets out an ear piercing shriek about the same time you hear a horse let out a terrified cry. A horse-drawn carriage has turned the corner onto the street and the horse is now rearing up on its hind legs and crying out in fear of the large griffon straining to get out of your grasp. The griffon pulls in earnest now, trying to get to the horse.
Seldor, please make a STR Athletics or WIS Animal Handling check to see if you can rein in the hungry beast!
Seldor calms the Griffon by singing a jaunty tune about how the Griffon is one of the most powerful creatures in the world and how it can eat whatever it wants.

Seldor, nervously at first but quickly finding your rhythm you dive into an enthusiastic ballad about the legendary power and appetite of the griffon. You start to clap, still holding the reins. A crowd is starting to gather and after picking up on the lyrics and tune, they begin clapping and singing along.
Lady Susanne, you see a feral hunger in the griffon's eyes as you approach. Tentatively, with outstretched hands, you gently brush your hand along the feathers on it's neck. The griffon bristles a bit a first, unsure of the strange woman touching it's neck, but calms and allows you to continue petting it. You pull your hand back and the griffon whines and runs it's large head under your hand again, clearly wanting you to continue.
The Griffon Rider steps out of the storefront he entered earlier and sees Seldor singing and clapping while a large group of Waterdhavians sing, clap, and dance along with him, a horse-drawn carriage on it's side with the owner trying to calm his panicking mare, and a well armored woman petting and whispering to his mount. He chuckles to himself and thanks the party for watching his griffon. He takes the reins and climbs atop the large beast. Before he departs, he tosses Seldor 1gp and with a whistle, the Griffon Rider takes flight. The crowd joins suit and begins tossing coins in Seldor's direction.
Seldor, after picking up the scattered coins you acquire a total of 7gp 15sp and 38cp. You can share with Lady Susanne if you like.
Seldor, Lady Susanne, and Agamemnon leave the scene of the impromptu performance and make their way to the Dock Ward. The rest of their trip isn't quite as exciting as it began, but it's a beautiful day and their coin purses are full, all in all, things are going well.
Vappa, you run up to the side of the dilapidated two-story building and using your long lizard legs, you leap into the air and grab ahold of a rusty gutter drain pipe. You pull yourself upward, biceps straining as your foot claws scrape against the chipped plaster siding of the building. Your hands start to slide down the rusty pipe and you attempt to readjust your grip. A particularly rusted section of pipe gives way and your grip falters, sending you tumbling to the ground. Unhurt, you take a running start and this time leap for a window ledge. Using the window ledge and the pipe, you manage to climb up onto the roof. Roof tiles break free beneath your hands and feet as you stand, clattering onto the ground below. You see the man up ahead fire a crossbow down into the street below him. He is about 50ft away and hasn't noticed you yet.
Vappa, with your 17 initiative you're at the top of the order, but due to the 8 you rolled for your Athletics check and the delay it caused as you attempted to climb the building, you will miss the first round of combat.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Strife will growl and look around frantically as he clutches his side for a moment after being slashed by the bandit. The kobold would quickly mutter under his breath before turning and pointing his orb at the thug and kenku, casting sleep at second level on the kenku (and thug)
33 points of sleep that Strife would cast so that it would hopefully hit only the thug and kenku
Then, turning back to the bandit, smoke would begin rolling out of the kobolds mouth as he casts dragon's breath on himself (bonus action to cast that)
Lady Susanne looks at her 2 companions and asks, "So what do you guys expect from this venture? I personally don't care about fame, but I need money and to hone my skills so I can one day go back home and clean out the Keep and Temple I grew up in of all it's corruption. What do you make of our employer? Do you think we are getting the whole story? I fear there is more to it still."
"The sea, stained red with the blood of my enemies." Agamemnon, who avoided the griffon entirely during the last encounter, mutters. "The frothing waves, the green deep, the thrill of the hunt. This is why I am here."
Strife, the Kenku falls asleep, but the Thug's hit points are too high for him to be affected.
The Thug, ignores the unconcious Kenku and moves to square H12. He then attempts to strike Strife with his mace. He uses his multiattack action to make two attacks. The first attack misses, but the second connects for 5 points of damage.
Bandit 1 will attempt to hit Strife with his Light Crossbow. The bolt flies true, striking Strife for 3 points of damage.
Vappa, you're up next! You've entered the battle at square A14, which is on a roof top overlooking the alleyway where Strife is fighting for his life. Bandit 1 just hit Strife with a crossbow bolt and is reloading for another shot.
Strife, the round ends and the time remaining for your dragon's breath is :54s.
