Tormir, with his charisma of 10 and total lack of experience dealing with crying women, looks pleadingly like a deer in headlights at the others. "What do we do?" he mouths.
"Um...it's nice to meet you Freyalise? ...again, I guess... although I don't remember you."
Tormir turns to Jim, and mutters, "I don't think I'm doing this right."
The Old Man looks to Freyalise and smiles sadly "It's ok, my dear. I know it's a lot to take in but all will be well in time. Take a few breaths and I'm sure you'll feel better" You all start to feel more calm.

Jim turns to Freyalise and incredibly awkwardly pats her on the head like she might break.
”Um... there there...”
With a stricken look on his face he entreats the others to rescue him. Clearly comforting a stranger is not something he excels at.
Still patting her head as if on some kind of mortifying autopilot, Jim tries to fill the awkward space by answering Tormir’s question.
”As you can probably tell by looking at me I’m no brawler, and I much prefer to apply knowledge and intellect to the problems that face me. That said I have been know to throw a fire bolt or two and I certainly have some tricks up my sleeves.”
Tormir also allows the calming magic to wash over him.
"Perhaps some actual fresh air and feet on the ground of the real world might help? For an elf that apparently deals in the nature of life and death, a taste of the real world might provide some kind of... grounding to her?"
I'm figuring everyone will join hands at this point.
There's a strange popping sound and a moment of your vision fogging and then your vision clears and you are standing by a swamp. You immediately feel the hot humidity and see that you are standing among large old tress. In such a stark contrast to the silence of the room you were in the buzzing of the insects and other sounds of nature are loud in your ears.

Tormir looks around. "Is this the place we were all killed? A few weeks ago, you say?"
He looks for any tracks, or signs of the fight, and if he finds it, he's also looking for any more recent tracks, to see how often people or things have been through here since the fight. Survival: 15
The old man says to Tormir "No, you were found deeper in the swamp. I brought you to what I deemed a safe place for you to start. Wouldn't do any good to drop us all into trouble. You were all found about 500' into the swamp that way" Indicating a mostly northward direction.
Turning to everyone "I will have to leave you now. I have other responsibilities elsewhere. You will find a small road that runs between 2 towns not far to the east. South on that road will take you to Diefpaltz, it is best known for it's school and crafters. Heading north on the road will lead to Rosedale. They are known for their brickmaking. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but you are the only ones who will truly be able to find out what happened to you."
Tormir: You don't see any tracks here of people. You do see some small animal tracks and a couple large frog tracks.

Jim looks pensive yet almost eager, a gleam in his eye. Wondering if he can gain some knowledge or insight about their "benefactors" he ponders on the method of transport they were just subjected to, trying to discern the magic type employed or even the specific spell used.
"Well, folks, do we go to the place where we died first, try sneaking as close as we can to try and get a look at the place? If it was just the scene of the battle where we died, there may be nothing there but some clues for us? Or do we want to go and explore the local town, get a feel for the region a bit, and then see what we want to do?"
"Perhaps if we head to one of the towns someone there might recognise us from passing through, or if we spent a night in an inn, we may have mentioned to them our purpose in coming this way."
"My only real thought is that we have a general location and direction from here, but we don't actually know where here is. Once we go to a town, our knowledge that it's 500' in that direction from here becomes irrelevant if we can't find here again."
”I would very much like to investigate the place of our demise. However, I’m not averse at doing something else first.
What I do suggest is we set some roles and rules before we venture forth. I’ve already died once and do not wish to rush the experience again. So for example, Tormir should go first.”
Jim’s face falls and he looks aghast.
”Uh... I don’t mean you’re expendable! Or... I’m not saying I’m more important... You just look strong and capable!”
Jim begins muttering to himself: “For goodness sake I’ve done it again. I don’t know why I bother speaking to people...”
"Don't worry little magic man, I knew what you meant. You simply want me to be the first to get the honour of smashing face. I will gladly accept that honour, and yes, I believe I probably am the best at that.
I personally think we should check out the location where we fell while we still have at least some kind of trail. If we get within sight of it and discover some enemy encampment or a dark wizard's tower, then obviously we leave it for another day, but if it's nothing but a battle scene, we may be able to find some clues as to what happened, or see the tracks of what, or how many things, killed us. "

[Definitely no saving throw]
Jim slows his frantic patting and appears to ruffle Freyalise’s hair as he stops.
”Yes. I’m sure things will be fine.”
