"Lorros, you say you like to hide in the shadows. How about we all head to where we died, all of us trying to sneak but you and I a little way ahead of Jim and Freyalise?"
Snickering at Tormir as he tries to hide and trips over a branch, Jim blinks and is taken aback by the fact that Lorros has seemingly disappeared. Jim whispers:
"Perhaps we should let Lorros scout ahead here?"
Jim attempts to ready himself to proceed as quietly as he can also.
So Lorros does essentially disappear with Jim doing a great job at stealth as well. The others are following a safe distance behind (I'm assuming). You folks make your way into the swamp. There are areas you can see that look like the water may be around 2' deep but you don't see any really deep spots. There are clumps of grasses and dead trees you can mostly make your way across without stepping into the swamp but I'll need DEX checks from everyone who's trying to stay dry. If you're walking in the water I'll need to know that too.
No one detects any threats. You do still see an occasional large frog print and some smaller critter print here and there. Probably some kind of ermine.
You all make your way in the grassy nubs and fallen logs with no difficulty. Keeping dry and not disturbing the water. After about 200' of traveling you notice something odd half hanging in a tree and making it's way down into the grass and swamp. It's pretty large and kind of looks like thin fabric.
Freyalise, you do not notice any threats but you detect a smell you recognize well. Something decaying. It's coming from the direction you've all been heading.
Tormir steps up. "Perhaps proceeding with caution when there are snakes nearby means letting the Dwarf go in front?" (Dwarves have resistance to poison - I realise it's not necessarily poison that we need to watch out for, but Tormir's a little arrogant when it comes to taking damage first...)
As he takes the lead, proceeding cautiously towards the giant snake skin, he'll look around him for any new, larger animal tracks - although I realise looking for snake tracks in the water may be fairly fruitless!
Survival check: 7
(And presumably we're sticking to our previous stealth rolls.)
You move cautiously and reach the snakeskin. It's starting to come apart and deteriorate. You'd guess it's a month or 2 old. You still don't detect any danger but can now see glimpses of a giant snake through the trees as the smell of rot increases.

Lorros will try to stay dry and to keep the noise down.
Dex: 13
Tormir is also going to try his best to keep dry, preferring not to be eaten by something under the water.
Dex check: 13
OOC: Just editing this post to double check it keeps the same die roll. (It did)

OOC: When you say "making its way down", do you mean it stretches from the tree form into the swamp, or is it actually moving?

Freyalise. You move forward some and get into a position to see better.
Looks like a snake skin but very large.
