Although a book on herbalism would be nice, Drusk pays Reelum the 2 dragoons for the 5 books.
And gives her Guidance if she is doing anything interesting. "Let Lliira guide you... sometime in the next 60 seconds."

OOC: So the idea is he would leave both books (the orc's and Mrs. Brinarei's) for five days to have them evaluated?
Hildigrim looks at the receipt and breaths a sigh. "I don't mean to be rude," he begins, "but what happens if you have another fire? You do have a reputation," he says apologetically.
She looks at Hildi impatiently. "I think you'll find we don't do a lot of business actually selling books, exactly. We'll recompense you appropriately."

Hildigrim sighs again, finally nodding. "Ok, ok. And ... " He reaches into his purse and withdraws five gold pieces. He almost reluctantly hands them over, saying, "If you could put me in touch with the owner of that book, I'd appreciate it." He mumbles a fairly polite thanks and something about returning in five days, looks one last time at Mrs. Brinarei's book, then bids his friends that they should continue on to Blackstaff Tower.
Reelum is all smiles as she slips your coins into a pouch. "I'm sure the owner will be most pleased to make your acquaintance."
The three of you, unburdened of spell books, but newly burdened with how-to books, make your way outside and down the street. Blackstaff Tower squats before you, a black cube.
From #840
The Blackstaff Tower is a mere three stories tall, more a cube of grim black stone than a tower. It makes you uncomfortable to look at, as if it were watching you. But as you watch it, you see a young apprentice approach the smaller of two doors, and press his palm against it. It opens, and he enters.

Hildigrim visibly bolsters himself after leaving the shop. Walking toward the Tower, he comments, "I won't bore you with anymore book shops today. Let's make our report to the Blackstaff and then find Jorin a smith." Hildigrim heads for the larger of the two doors.
Drusk yells out to the young apprentice: "Yo! Can you hold that door open?"

Hildi leads the group to the large door, which slides open as you approach (unlike the small one that needed some sort of identification).
The room you enter is clearly a registration or reception area. There are Magisters about business, and some people who, like you, seem out of place. You are hemmed in by railings, but can approach a wizard at a desk behind the railing. There are a half dozen, and one is looking at you expectantly, a portly Dwarf in black robes.

Drusk looks around, impressed. "Those are real stylish black robes. How much do they sell for at the thrift store? I might pick up a few for Lliira's Night. Never too early to start gift shopping!"
(He is not dissing them; he does think they would be nice gifts... Whatever the response, he will then stay quiet so Hildigrim can do the talking about squid-face in the sewers.)

Hildigrim looks at Jorin and sees the discomfort on his face. "You can wait outside, friend. This shouldn't take long. I'll ask about the shop for you." He then approaches the dwarf and waits for Drusk to ask his question. After the dwarf answers the half-orc, the halfling says with polite calmness, "We were advised to apprise you of a presence in the city of some import. While ... exterminating some pests in the sewers under the [I'm too lazy to look back, was it the Dock Ward?], we encountered a being that was afterward identified to us as an Illithid."
The Dwarf looks at Drusk perplexed. "The robes... are just black robes. You can find similar in almost any shop, black is very much in fashion."
When Hildi reports on the mind flayer, "An Ilithid? Are you sure?" After some back and forth about his description, what he did to Jorin, and the like, the Dwarf says, "This is troubling news. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. May I take your name and a place where we may reach you, should we wish to follow up?"

Hildigrim gives the dwarf his name and says he can be reached at the Yawning Portal. "And speaking of shops, Jorin, describe what you're looking for. We'll see if he can suggest where we might find it."
While Hildigrim is talking to the dwarf, Drusk mutters in a soft voice to Jorin, so they aren't overheard. "Ordinary black robes? I thought the Blackstaff were supposed to be an elite organization. Doesn't speak highly of them that they skimped with cheap uniforms."

At Hildigrim's suggestion, Jorin turns to the Dwarf,"Oh, that is a good idea. I am Jorin, of the Bodt, and seek to find an armorer who has lighter weight wears than this," He thumps a hand to his chest causing the chain mail to jingle jangle. "You see? Too loud.
