'Altani carefully watches the murky water as the light-stepping tiefling begins to traverse the submerged log, but as the martial artist makes it out to about ten feet from the bank, the tense centaur has noticed nothing except for the slow drift of the lilly pads, the low-flying *buzz* of dragon flies and the occassional hop of a tiny emerald green frog.'

'While Altani and Cinder look for a path for the party to traverse, Wazzok observes their surroundings looking for old tracks or signs of activity, remembering that the guard mentioned that boys often come to spy on the dryad who makes her home here.'
'Moving to the edge of the thick foliage that crowds the lagoon encircling the murky water to the East, West and North, Wazzock sees no sign of any trail or even marginally clear areas within the packed greenery, though the half-orc likewise detects the sporadic presence of colourful plants and creatures. The brush on this closer Eastern rim of the lagoon appears slightly heavier with orange and red flora than the Western or Northern edges, but not by a great deal. Familiar with few of the plants and creatures native to these wet lowlands, the blue-eyed half-orc nevertheless recognises the signs of danger that such colours often represent in the wilds.
Looking for tracks, the steady gaze of the armoured cleric old scuff marks on the lower trunk and middle branches of the nearby cyprus tree, as though many hands and feet over long periods of time had scaled or handled the surface. The end of the branch that the frayed and knotted rope is tied to is all but bare, stripped of bark. Wazzock also notices small grooves cut into the trunk and lower branches, which upon closer inspection appear to be tiny letters and symbols - here a crudely carved heart, there a = symbol, with a number of 4ever similarly present. Apart from this, Wazzock notices what might be the tail and claw marks of tiny lizards in the mud.

Mazin sees Cinder try to cross the log. He doesn't exactly trust it, it would probably sink under his weight.
Mazin looks to the others "Umm, is that the only way? Can we just swim there?" Mazin takes a look around. He inspects the southern cypress tree.
((OOC Does it look like the rope on the southern tree is long enough to allow him to swing to the other side?))
'The swift moving grey clouds overhead add to the dimness of the light at the lagoon's edge, making it difficult for Mazin to judge the length of the rope and its sufficiency for a swing across the water. Likewise, while the goliath assumes that if the water is too deep to walk across, then it must surely be swimmable, the hulking warrior is having some difficulting making out much about the water's clarity or any obstructions that might lie beneath the surface. Frustrated in his attempt to discern enough detail within the glade to help formulate a plan of action, the towering barbarian's eye is caught by the half-elven warrior who had stepped out onto the log and, having lost his balance, is even now struggling to keep from falling into the lagoon.'

'Kestrell, who has been hanging towards the back of the group notices the rope and moves close to Wazzock and the cyprus tree to cast Mage Hand. He uses the hand to grab the end of the rope and bring it back over them, seeing how close the rope can get to them.'
Alwin watches as the group begins to cross and takes a deepbreath realizing that Cinder probably found the easiest way. He just walks up to the log and blinks wondering if he could make it as he places his foot lightly on it before stepping up “I sh…ould be able to make it…I h…ope.”
'Corellon be with me' he thinks to himself as he slowly begins to cross, trying to prep himself to grab onto something should he fall.

While hanging straight down from the tip of one of the nearby tree's thicker and longer branches, the end of the frayed and knotted rope rests beyond normal reach, hanging out from the bank above the murky lilly dotted waters. Magically drawing the hempen length back towards the bank and the tree's base, the end of the rope hangs well above the reach of most of your party, though perhaps the towering goliath could reach it with fingers outstretched or with a jump.

'Though Alwin can barely make out the dark brown log beneath the murky lagoon water, the fighter bravely steps out on to the slick log the way that he had just seen Cinder do. Despite his difficulty in discerning where to place his feet, the half-elven swordsman edges along the precarious route, keeping his eyes fixed on the tiefling's back, noticing only once he is already half-way out to her that the martial artist has stopped moving. The additional weight of the second figure atop the log also causes the make-shift crossing to turn ever so slightly, which unfortunately for the already nerve wracked warrior coincides with an especially large dragonfly *buzzing* towards his face. Arms windmilling, the suddenly off balance man is forced to quickly try and regain his equilibrium, barely succeeding to the extent that he does not fall into the water, but has to kneel in order to centre his weight and regain his composure, stilling the slight rocking of the slippery log as he does so.'

Mazin raises an eyebrow. Thats silly, why would cinder come all the way back here. He looks Kestrell up and down. Yup, he's pretty sure he's lifted boulders heavy then this tiny elf boy.
He goes up to Kestrell. "Get ready to grab the rope." Mazin will grab Kestrell around the waist and hoist him up to grab the rope.
((OOG: I had to look up lifting rules. Holy crap, Goliath's can lift a ton! That's an exaggeration, it's only half a ton for Mazin. Push, Drag, or Lift:1,080lb ))
While Alwin wobbles, Cinder maintains her balance looking at the ripples in the water, judging the distance, she figures she can’t make it, so she instead uses thaumaturgy to create a sound of someone landing in the water ten feet from where the ripples started.

[OOC] Just an FYI, you can't make a pre-emptive check before stating the action, i.e. roll an athletics check before saying 'I'm swinging across the lagoon'. I'm guessing that's what Kestrell is going to do here, since that's the indication, but checks need to be made when the action is stated, preferably in the [OOC] box directly below the action text.

While the glimpse is fleeting before whatever it is once again obscured by the silt-water and vegetation, you think you see what appeared to be two glowing torch-like yellow eyes and a bulbous though squat head.'
