"Alright. This is as far as the last crew could make it...before we lost our nerve. The supervisor of this operation should be through this door,"the rock gnome standing at the doorway in front of you says, with a nod to the half-orc and aasimar in the party that were part of his previous crew.
The gnome is Fumbles McNilbog, and a tenday ago you answered a call for adventurers willing to undergo a secretive heist. The goal: Infiltrate The Lonely Tower, home to the oft-missing Ssessibil the wizard, and escort Fumbles to the tower's vault. "If you see any staffs, bring them to me. This is mission critical. Otherwise, I get first pick on loot but there will be plenty to go around, I assure you," he had explained.
A few days of planning and a few days of travel brought this new crew to the base of the tower, where you sucessfully navigated around the orc patrol and guards, accessed the tower, and spoke the words "Fifth floor" to the magical staircase before ascending a single floor. The crystalline spiral staircase is now behind the party in the circular room, and a set of double doors marks the start of the heist's true action.
Our Party:
Aradurk: Half-Orc Fighter (Battle Master) Karst: Aasimar Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) Rycider Pillerton: Human Bard (College of Lore) Tanakir Dreiden: Fire Genasi Paladin/Warlock (Oathbreaker/The Celestial) Wes Fiddletum: Gnome Wizard (School of Evocation) Zikahl: Aasimar Barbarian (Path of the Zealot)
OOC: Before we get into the thick of things, take a moment to introduce your characters to one another and bring the new characters up to speed on prior adventures. How did the new characters meet Fumbles and find this job? Does your character have any abilities you would like the team to know about before beginning?
Once introductions have been made, I will provide the intel that Fumbles has given you and we will get underway!
Good Evening Getlemen, Mah name is Rycider Pillerton but mah friends call me Ricky. And I can see we all goin' tah be most affectatious friends. Mah talents lie in tha more disingenuous persuasions. She gives a wink. But I can also be a handy in a surreptitious set-to. She indicates her rather large instrument she handles like a cane.
Ricky is a very large woman, standing almost 6'5". Her build looks as though she may have been training for some sort of prize but discontinued recently. She dresses in the latest finery but upon closer inspection, leather inlays pepper most of her bodice. She greets everyone warmly but the more perceptive of you may realize that she is taking in every aspect of your character and storing it away. For what ends is anyone's guess.
"Well met, my name is Karst, I was one of those here before with Fumbles, although I wouldn't have said I lost my nerve, but we have been here before and I do welcome new companions to journey alongside Aradurk and I, Fumbles' company grows tiresome quickly, more of you will help dilute him a little." the paladin does not appear to be joking although it is hard to tell, his eyes are entirely white and pulse with radiance, a clear sign of his celestial ancestors. His long black hair is tied back and his attire is entirely battle ready, darkened chainmail and dark clothing combined with a black shield with the two faces of Hoar, God of vengeance, on it. He carries daggers in plain sight and a beautifully crafted battle axe, but his only other possession seems to be a small bag tied at his belt.
Tanakir stands tall, although shorter than Ricky, at approximately six feet. His coal-black skin is covered in veins of red that pulse in time with his heartbeat. His face is moderately square shaped, with two small pinpricks of red that seem to be his eyes set deep. His hair is cut short, and seems to smolder occasionally with patches of red appearing. He wears a set of simple splint and has a greatsword at his side and a glaive on his back. On his belt are four vials, two filled with red liquid, two filled with green, as well as a small tin that appears to be a healer's kit.
His most noticeable feature is that he has a simple bident with two glowing red eyes seared into the middle of his forehead, a symbol which everyone can recognize as that of Belial, Lord of Phlethegos, Archdevil of the Nine Hells. He bears no other symbols, divine or fiendish.
"Friends, eh? We'll see. I'm Tanakir. I was sent here to be of some assistance to someone, and Fumbles happened to pick me up. As for what I can do... well, you'll see."
Tanakir glances over at Karst, mildly irritated by something about the other paladin.
You see a muscular and tall, dark skinned male with the toothy grin that marks him easily as a half-Orc with short trimmed hair, giving a very austere presence.
“Nice to see meet you Ricky”, Aradurk grins broadly. You seem like the kind of distraction that will come in handy. My name is Aradurk and I am a former member of the mountain patrols. If you need it done lickety split, I’m your man.”

Wes, another rock gnome, is slightly shorter than Fumbles. What appear to be once a nice set of robes, clearly worn and weathered. Earth tones to match his skin and popping above the collar black hair can be seen twisting every which way. Small spectacles are exaggerated by a fairly large and bulbous nose.
“I am happy to meet all your acquaintances.... friends or not.” As he shoots a friendly smile to Tanakir.
He goes back to jingling some nuts and bolts in his pocket. A burgundy weasel with a copper mane and paws can be seen scurrying around his shoulders and in his robe. Popping into one sleeve and seemingly reappearing out the other.
Why thank you Mister Aradurk, I have been told that distraction is one of my strong suits. She indicates her lengthy and broad form, that admittedly, does not contain a single straight line. She then turns her attention to the bedraggled Gnome. She crouches down, sending her petticoats into a slow billowing. And Master Gnome Sir, might I know your name? And perhaps that of your beautiful Longrat? She holds out her hand in hope of a sniff
Aradurk looks around then says quietly to Karst, “Amigo - looks like they sent someone to cure your homesick blues”, nodding at the bulky Aasimar barbarian in the room.
”I figure you will be damn good in a scrap. Tell us about yourself mate.”

Wes reaches out his hand to shorten the bridge for his weasel and immediately, Petunia takes one sniff before in a puff of smoke appears on Ricky’s shoulder before nestling in and lying down.
“She likes you! Don’t know if that’s good or bad yet you know. Petunia don’t overstay your welcome.” (Petunia will stay there as long as Ricky will allow)
"The names Zikahl," the Aasimar barbarian says. He is a rather large figure, standing as tall as Ricky, and is heavily muscled. He wears a simple set of scale mail, and wears a metallic mask over his face, with the hood of his cloak drawn up. Despite the mask, which is obviously some sort of magical dampening device, glowing golden light can be seen from his eyes, much like the other Aasimar in the room. Tattoos can be seen on his neck as well as on his arms. They seem to mark him as a member of a tribe from far away. He carries a heavy looking great sword and maul on his back, and has a pair of hand axes at his belt. "Always lookin' for a good fight, which I'm sure we'll have plenty of in the future."
Karst looks over at Tanakir, stepping towards him and examining the brand closely. "Fumbles, just when I thought we could be friends, such a shame..." He turns his back on the genasi and moves away leaning against a far wall.

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
OOC: Excellent introductions, everyone. This is going to be a fun group.
"If there are any goblins working on this floor, we need to capture, not kill, the lot of them and keep a guard on watch the whole time. Then, secure the kobold supervisor and separate him so we can interrogate him and learn anything he knows about the vault. Our identity and our motive must not be revealed. If you need a refresher, remember to check your notes,"Fumbles says at the door. "When you're ready..."
Intel:
The Stairs: The stairs are magical. Merely state which floor you wish to go to and walk a few steps to find yourselves on the desired floor.
Floor 2: Alchemical labs.
Floor 3: Keepsakes. DO NOT TOUCH! DANGER!
Floor 4: There are four orc guards on this floor. Each room contains a potion on display.
Floor 5: There are four orc guards on this floor. On a table are a number of sacks. This is most likely where we will find Bek-Bek, the kobold supervisor.
Floor 6: Junk/storage closets.
Floor 7: One room contains a large window, from which you can see the entire landscape below. Cells along this floor contain strange creatures encased in ice. One room has a strange circle of patterns of diamonds, most likely the entry to the vault. It will take Fumbles 6-8 hours to crack the combinations unless Bek-Bek knows how to get in.
Heist Goals:
1. Take control of the Lonely Tower long enough to raid the vault. a. DONE - Get past the orc forces patrolling the perimeter (NO FIGHTING). b. DONE - Take out Orc guard at front door and replace him or her so the absence is not noticed. c. Take out internal guards before they can warn the exterior forces. d. Capture but not kill the NAGPU goblins. There needs to be at least one guard on the goblins at all times. e. Disguise the raid’s true motive and hopefully the party’s identity. f. Secure kobold supervisor and interrogate him separately for how to open the vault. g. Take Fumbles to the vault. h. Sweep the upper levels for stragglers and disarm traps. i. Set up a look out on the upper levels. 2. Escape the tower with the loot a. Loot the non-vault tower levels. b. Clear the tower of all party-brought items or traces. c. Destroy any bodies to prevent detection. d. Prepare a distraction to help with escape. e. Determine a way to carry loot. f. Leave behind clues to misdirect suspicions.
Well then Boys, once through this door shall we play a little Ambling Nancy?
While talking Ricky will be investigating the door.
That's where lil' ol' me plays the lost and lonely, given those who might do us harm something ta look at while you all sneak up behind and relieve them of their senses.
Wes gives a quiet whistle. “Petunia, glarosta!” The weasel hops down while standing on her hind legs and standing upright to give a jig. She dances back and forth for sometime before climbing back up to Ricky.
