OOC - Kauil was is up to date - 8 of 19; Burgee I either missed or wasn't hit?
As things calm down and a healing glow begins to emanate from Era, Kauil's facade begins to soften. He speaks to the group with a calm but somewhat regal voice for the first time since the ship, "I thank you all for the kindness and favor you have shown me. I fear it can never be repaid, but I will do all that I am able. But by the skies, these soul traders must perish. The things they have done, they cannot be forgiven."
Burgee is surprised to see Kauil come out of his shell and grins a little, if only on the inside. He moves in toward Kauil and Era, patting Kauil on the shoulder, "We'll get there friend," he says as his head turns up towards the trees above, "But first, let's focus on getting out of this damned forest. Being on the snack menu isn't something I cherish." He looks over towards Zein, "This is your island mate, any thoughts on a path that may let us move through this jungle without inviting every pointy toothed carnivore to come and sniff for a bite?"

(To All - The Gustav squad is up to date for the most part. Just need to fix Guss' hp to account for the recent heal.)
(To Cherii - On a sidenote, did you ever decide on a subclass for Minos? Or is he still figuring things out?)
Preferring not to interrupt the exchange between Zein and a frustrated Burgee, Gustav gives Ka a few words of encouragement(Bardic Inspiration-d6) in draconic, and even some added guidance in form a wise word from Oghma. Though the latter doesn't appear to take really in the lizardfolk's mind, the sentiment and magic did wonders. And while Ka takes charge of the harvesting effort with his brother and Nin's aid, Gustav eventually turns to looking over the map once more, in at LEAST consideration of taking the road.
Although his expression eventually darkens at the idea at the idea, and mindful Wonder tries forcefully un-furrowing his bushy brows. Irritated as he was at first, a small smile creeps into being in recognition of the reason for it. "Given recent events--"He would start AFTER zein and burgee's exchange. "the storm being included, if all wish to *scoffs* risk the road, and mind some extended time traveling deeper into the jungle to reach it, I... will no longer object. Just will have to... stay more out of sight than usual."He declares.
Ka Survival: (3)17 plus Guidance: 4 as well. (If you need a survival check for the harvesting)

Era smiles gently when the spirit departs after healing them back to good health, giving a soft thank you to her as she dissipates into thin air. She then turns to Kauli, her smile never leaving her visage. "It was my pleasure, Kauli, no repayment required." She gives a worried look between Burgee and Zein, but she kept her mouth shut and moved to Minos to check to see how he faired, but kept her ears open to listen to how the paladin would answer.

Gustav opens his mouth to say something, but Wonder claps his over it. After giving her a deadpanned look, he looks to the others, seeing majority -- which really only included those paying attention at the time -- were in agreement, he rolls his eyes and tugs Wonder's hand away from lips. "Probably for the best. Without Truk in our company, I relished the thought dealing with those rumored giants or giant kin in the mountains even less than the road itself." He says, chuckling near the end.
Both Guss and Nin pause in putting things away as the rain picks up, enjoying the wetness no matter the intensity. Wonder is less pleased, and after some nudging out of the girl, the aged Tabaxi more pointedly takes notices and sighs. "Enough dilly dallying then. The sooner we move, the more likely we our to find something to get out the wind and rain for more than a few hours... maybe."At that, he swaps his rapier for a dagger, and with a nod to Ka, the two take point for the sake of navigation, but err on the side of the fringes of any weather calming from Burgee to better bear the weather.

Zein nods as the group seems to be in unilateral unison. And staying just behind the 'scouts' to guard the mid and rear, should any enemies find themselves near the party. The sky grew darker once more, and the wind continued to howl as the rain picked up once more. Likely the party had been in the center where the torrents and winds were less than they were on the edges of the current hurricane. The day was miserably wet, the water soaking through anything that wasn't waterproofed, or resistant, luckily though, Vola's disc kept anyone who sought its cover protections, though admittedly it did occasionally ram into a tree and shift positions once in a while, randomly soaking someone near the edge of the disc. The rest of the day, aside from the poor weather, went along uneventfully. Most creatures that would normally be hunting, having sought shelter until it passed or died down. Little could be seen aside from the dirt, mud, rain, and shrouded sky, and the many many palms dotting the land around them in this tropical jungle.
Without even realizing it, as Zein points out ahead, looming tall, and high above you as you reach the base of the mountain, a faded path visible only due to the rain having washed away the dirt and brush hiding it. A path cut out of crumbling marble and what looks like it used to be exquisite stonework, worn by time and weather, and lack of upkeep. Behind it and above, looms the tail of one of the many mountain peaks. The entrance itself must be well over two hundred feet tall, carved directly out of the mountain itself. Set into the sides, two stone sentinels stand guard. Both of whom are fashioned after Dwarves. Though much to your surprise, instead of the usual dwarven-warrior like carving, bearing a stoud dwarf in platemail, and some fashion of dwarven weaponry, you instead see one bearing a wand, the other bearing a staff. While their cloaks and robes are made to appear as of they billow in a non-existent wind. The doors made of massive stone, seem to be slightly ajar, whether by virtue of another creatures passing through them, or perhaps the final scene before a cities demise.
As you all continue this way, Burgee's staff would begin to tremor, and tremble in his hands, as if charged. The closer they got to the foot of the mountain, following their original path the more and more 'excited' it became. Never so much as to cause it to fall from his grip or it's holster, but enough to draw his attention. Sparks flying from it as if in static surge.
In Vola's case, she would feel strong, aetheric currents, as if the weave were twisted in a whimsically dark manner, tugging at her senses Drawing in her curiosity as a mage, but her primal awareness made her feel as if there was far more to this place. Something Sinister
Gustav feels a sensation he can't quite place, and for a moment, he feels like he's surrounded by darkness.. like in his dreams, where Truk was swallowed up by the snake. Only a moment had passed, but he relived both the dreams he had previously experienced in the span of a second, and manages to catch himself before his body crumples to the ground from lack of muscle control much like a faint-near-stumble.
Era feels nature twisted around the area, but also feels the crying out of a familiar soul. But her mind is too muddled to understand fully whom it is. Causing her to feel a mixture of pull-and-push..... this soul cries out to her, yet the twisted nature of the literal 'nature' causes her to be wary.
Zein, and the others seem to not be effected at all, and are giving you all curious glances, not understanding whats going on.
A-Are you all Okay? You all look faint, perhaps the weather is causing you to get sick... It seems we've found a break, at a most opportune time. These ruins look Dwarvish, so we should have solid roof above our heads. Though never before have I seen a Dwarven Citadel with what appear to be casters ... And odd choice. He would stand there waiting to see what everyone did.
Ka and Gus, confused as they were, acted swiftly on instinct to help keep the aged tabaxi standing. "If o-only."Gustav replied initially to Zein as he rubbed his forehead, blind to the lizardfolk efforts at first. It is not until Wonder started rubbing the top of his head that he found the focus to look beyond the ground. Nodding to the duo so that they would at least leave him to stand on his own feet, he looks up for the second time to try and study the architecture. Ableit with eyes less filled with the wonder of a curious cat or a traveling scholar, but that of someone expectant of danger hiding among any shadowed crevices ahead.
"... It is not so unheard of for the dwarves to venerate the accomplished. The Golds of the Underchasm, for instance, do something similiar for the... the.... Hammers of Mouradin or some such. A cleric order.... Or was that the shield bearers?" Nin snorts. "Does it matter? The orc and you cats are start'n to stink something fierce. So, sooner your dry, the better for my nose." He adds smirking and rubbing the bottom of his nose, despite perhaps smelling the most strongly from the storm of ozone, burnt fur, and a mix of wet dog and bear. Guss and Ka start to nod their agreement; but, as soon as any look to them, they glance away.
"... More importantly, there... may even be a short cut through the mountains and onto the road. Either way, this is no time for waffling. Let's get inside. We'll worry of other strangeness later." Gustav said dryly. Yet, it takes half a minute and some whispered words in his ears by Wonder for him to actually start moving towards the door. Although the whole while his ears are flattened against his scalp, and hand never far from a weapon.

Era was happily marching next to Minos when the surge happened, the genasi stopping in her tracks as she looked around the immediate area for any idea of what was calling to her. Ultimately, the sensations she was feeling made her feel uneasy as nature was her friend, but now it felt unwelcoming to her, despite her want to go and seek out what exactly was calling out to her. The druid leans on Minos for a moment, the wizard giving her a worried look as he helps keep her on her feet. "I'll be okay, just need a moment of rest is all... Get warm... Hopefully this is a shortcut, like Gustav said."
The minotaur nodded silently thereafter, and helped her forward.

Burgee's hands tremble as the staff becomes active, the strange symbols carved into it alight with a soft glow. He studies his staff intently along with the magical looking statues before them. Thinking back through his memories to tales the old woman spun. Tales he thought to be nonsense. But perhaps, one of those stories could have held some secret, some knowledge of this place, or the interaction with the staff she'd given him. (Arcana: 18)

As everyone makes their way inside, the entrance seems more like a fortress, as the gate and stonework loom heavily over you all. As you all approach the door, a soft glow can be seen within, as if there is some form of light emanating from within. The gap is large enough that everyone, even Gus, could get inside with relative ease. Almost immediately upon entry, you feel a sweltering warmth coming from all directions. The warmth was soothing to your wet, frigid bodies from having been in rain for several days. The party feels soothed by this, mostly, as the moisture fades away.
The structure inside rises nearly one hundred feet before you would see the very faint trimmings of a roof just outside of the range of the lights glow, that seems to be coming from all around you from tiny slits at various heights. From the other side of those slits, that were spread apart by roughly 25 feet, with a thin, foot long 'window' a bright orange glow was visible. Between them were what looked like some form of mechanical candles? They glowed even brighter than the orange on the other side of the 'windows' and seemed to never flicker, and seemed to float by themselves, without moving at all. A tiny metal coil could b seen before staring directly at it would put a white-spot into your vision. Farther down the hall, where, despite the hot-orange-and-white light faded into shadows. In fact creating shadows at this distance, obscuring everything beyond it, no matter how hard you looked. Creating an eerie shadow-within-the-light effect that shouldn't be possible.
In the center of the room, are pillars -likely support structures- that are thin, but rise down the massive hallway. The hallway itself was almost as large as a main-road in the largest cities of Toril. Only broken up y the pillar-structures in the center. The floor within made of marble, smoother than you've ever seen before. The walls seem to be made out of the mountain, but smoothed to perfection. Unlike the outside, there was no sign of damage anywhere you could tell. Along the wall, there were more statues of dwarves, as if soldiers welcoming in guests or royalty of some sort. Each one coming in pairs, with a mirror image of each-other on each side. The first row, both statues holding massive war-axes. And donned in stone battle armor.
Burgee wracks his memories, trying to think of one of the many many things his mentor had told him. Despite his best efforts, he can only remember a fragment of a memory... The staff he wielded now, may have been forged by the first cabals of sorcerers... and through dedication, he may yet unlock .. something.... The staff itself while not sentient, was alive, and ever seeking home.
You can see up to 30 feet out in front of you, unless you have darkvison, then you can see up to 60 feet. Regardless of what sort of vision you have you can see at-least 30, but never more than 60.
There is plenty to explore here, so please be sure to state what you do. There is a LOT you can miss bypassing things. This is a one of the Dungeons in the game. And the dungeon is fairly large. Each square is 30 feet. Unless you dash, you an only move your movement speed per post. Please be sure to include every action you take.
Both inside and outside of combat, this is one of the few times I'm going to ask you to please take the image provided, and show where you (and relevant NPC"s are on the map) yourself. Everyone is at the entrance within 10 feet of it for now. Also please show the path you take to get there with a line from your previous position in each post so I know exactly where you are. and where you walked 'in case.'
I use IMGUR to upload, as its the only one that doesn't seem to give issues just wait for it to show 'image uploaded successfully' then 'copy image address' with right-click.
(Starting from the top. Where the stairs are. No the hallway is 50-60 feet wide. The statues are average 2-3 times larger than the average dwarf. Twice as tall as a dwarf.)

"woooah, spooky. We really shouldn't go in there!" Vola says as she approaches the door with the absolute intention of going in there.

(So seems the consensus is go inside, posting now. Should be done in an hour.)
Occassional Dungeon Master.

(are we starting at the top or bottom? Also, are you saying those armour suits are 50 or 60 feet wide? How tall are they?)

(Starting from the top. Where the stairs are. No the hallway is 50-60 feet wide. The statues are average 2-3 times larger than the average dwarf. Twice as tall as a dwarf.)
