"I will certainly do my best," he replies with a simple nod. He heads over going from what appears to be one guestroom, through a bathroom, and into another joining room. It's not directly linked to a hallway, so they'd have some privacy. But, it doesn't appear to have any proper self lock.
"Most of our guest rooms do not have a separate lock for safety reasons. But, it's tucked away behind the bathroom and another room. Windows looking out over the back gardens. Dressers, beds," his hand points to the three beds in the place. Probably a room for children, but, still comfortable. The decent sized windows look out the back of the property; what seems to be a rather lush garden with exotic trees and shrugs about a central sitting garden.
"I assume it is to your liking?" he asks.
(We can also skip ahead to morning, with the butler giving a nod and heading out. You all will get a rest. Or, could go exploring. Totally your call)
Yorvalor passes by the man, without making eye contact. “Thank you for all your help, good sir.” He plops himself onto one of the beds, without bothering to remove his garments.
After a while, he sniffs a couple of times. “I am sorry Brother Emund. I am so sorry. I am the reason Friend Cade is not here with us. I should have just dispatched that agent, instead of being my naive self. And only the Gods know where is Friend Keegan. I am so sorry Friend Cade...” Yorvalor sobs for a little while and falls asleep, for he was mentally exhausted.
(OCC: I am going to assume that mental exhaustion is a thing for Bards.)

Emund looks through the room as the man directs his hands and describes it. His gaze lingers on the sitting garden, thinking about how peaceful it would be to sit among those trees this removed from the bustle of Dunnour.
"Yes, more than good. Thank you." Emund says. "Is there a time you'd like us up to meet the master of the house?"
––
After the conversation closes, Emund frowns at Yorvalor's taking responsibility. A heavy weight to bear, whether or not it's only in his mind. He sits on the floor and says a prayer to himself as he looks around the room to see if there's a way to seal the door while they rest (Perception: 10, he'll do this if he's able). The idea of binding the doorknob to the doorframe with a red cord from his sleeve stands out in his mind, believing with certainty that the Broken God would keep them safe if it came to that. After all, it was quite troubling, the more he thinks about it, that what looked like Cade's other sword was here. Why and how would they have had access to it? Either Tharii is somewhere near, or we've settled in for the night in a nest of people who tried to frame us. What was it that one medic said? Don't alter..? Emund pulls himself into bed and drifts off with thoughts of shapeshifters and plots and leering shadows.
Emund, you do your best. Putting a dresser in front of the door. Tying some of it off with the threads around your rest.
When you both wake, the sun is up. The light spilling out into the court-yard of the outdoor gardens. It's probably early, a hour or two past sunrise. The air and building feel... quiet. Unlike the Nest, where you can hear people coming and going at odd hours and folks getting breakfast. There's almost a peace in the simple nature of waking up here. The room is as Emund left it. Nothing appearing to be disturbed.
It's about ten minutes later when a light knock comes at the door. The sound of the Head Butler once again can be heard. "Good sirs, we are beginning to prepare breakfast. Is there anything either of you would request?" You don't hear an attempt from him to enter.
Emund rouses in the bed, and calls out to the man at the door. “A warm beverage to wake me and calm my stomach would be welcome, thank you.”
He gets up and stretches, failing to reach his toes over his gut, before undoing the fortification of the door. “Will you be guiding us down to where the house dines?”
”Seems as though we haven’t died or been robbed just yet, Yorvalor.” Once his friend seems a bit more awake, Emund begins to recount quietly what he witnessed last night, in the best detail he can remember. From the loxodon, to the “altering”, to Cade’s sword.
After Emund gets up. "What happened?" Yorvalor is still a little groggy. "I am sorry Brother Emund. I don't remember much after we came inside of the house. I must have been exhausted..." He gets up and stretches himself as well. He sees that there is a dresser in front of the door, and he helps Emund move it.
After Emund tells Yorvalor of what he witnessed last night. "Did you see Friend Cade's sword?? That is very interesting. I wonder if we are still able to find it in this house. I guess we should be careful here." His stomach grumbles a little. "Perhaps we should get some breakfast first..."

The head of the staff brings you all downstairs to a formal dining room. Large oak table with chairs that are just a smidge too big for a average sized person. Not uncomfortably so, but, child sitting at the adult table. A few fruits are laying around for grabbing, as are a few pastries.
Servants are at the ready to bring some more exotic teas or warmed milk. The head butler giving a small nod to the others, as they bring out a set of plates and dining utensils for everyone. Before one hurrying off to the kitchen to add a few more orders for the morning.
Sitting at the head of the table is a rather large Loxodon. Standing about seven feet tall with a harsh, leathery skin, the creature is reading a paper. One of his dusks much smaller than the other; either from a deformity or perhaps being filed down after a injury. Finished pastries, eggs, and a bit of fish are on his plate, already eaten. Although a bit of it has been pushed off to the side as if he wasn't overly hungry himself. A pinky ring (for him, probably a thumb ring for most), has a signet ring on it. A older, less polished version of the same ring that Nikoli gave to you all the night before.
Two other plates and eating sets flank him. But haven't been touched yet.
"Good morning gentlemen," his surprisingly high pitched voice for such a big creature comes out. "I'm Captain Toshii. You probably have heard of me, and my adventures at sea. Taming the wilds. Fighting not one, but two, but three water serpents that used to turn ships into vessels full of the dead. Leviathan Hunter of renoun..." this goes on for a minute or two. Talking of former conquests and tales. "...just like my Aunt Tilda." He clears his throat, while the staff bring you out some tea. "But, tell me, who do I have the honor of sitting with today?"
From the doorway to the kitchen a familiar figure steps out. The red skinned teifling known as Tharii, chewing on a apple. His fine clothing looking a bit stained. He leans up against the wall, eager to hear what the others say to the loxodon.
As the Loxodon's tale is recounted, Emund tries to remember if he's heard anything about a Captain Toshii, with the hope that he might be able to produce a flattering detail left out of the account (History: 16). He listens with interest, a fan of stories.
"I am Emund Armet. A priest of The Faith (Deception: 22), though I become disenchanted with each attempt on my life," he says, adjusting himself in the large chair, such that his legs are crossed and his back firmly against the seat. "I also ken the fellow whose food shares the color of his skin there–aye, Tharii."
Emund produces the ring. "And most importantly, I'd be willing to bet, to you at the very least, also I am a friend of Nikolai. As is this fellow.." He motions as if to present Yorvalor to the table, promptly having his attention stolen by a peculiar smelling infusion somewhere nearby (Perception: 6, rolling because tea is important).
Yorvalor looks a little surprised that he is greeted by a Loxodon, but he tries to make it not too obvious. He doesn't remember anything that transpired in the house last night. He goes to one of spot where the servants setup plates and utensils. He looks at Emund and nods at him. He then touches the top of one of the chair, and he looks pretty small next to it. "Yorvalor, my Good Host, my name is Yorvalor Smith. At your services Sir." Yorvalor bows slightly and tries to remember if he ever heard of a Captain Toshii on his travels. (History: 21) "I work, or rather used to work, for Nikoli. I am the entertainer of the Falcon's Nest, I am not sure if you have ever heard of me." Says Yorvalor with a smile. "I would like to thank you for your hospitality, as you have a lovely house." He sits down to take his breakfast. He triest to make himself comfortable on the very large chair.
Yorvalor then turns to Tharii. "Greetings Master Tharii. I have to say, it is a surprise to see you here. I hope that it is a good surprise." Yorvalor sees if Tharii is surprise to see them here. (Insight: 7)

Emund listens to the tales. Loxodon are famed for their story-telling culture. Those that make it to their twilight years, or those who happen to be able to afford a scribe, write down their exploits to be passed on. Some rumors have it that a few of the Loxodon living books are even in some of the great libraries and universities of Ethuria. (Ethuria, and Unity, are separated by a small mountain range.) Still he does into most of the major highlights of his time. But Emund is able to pull out a few of the details of his days as a captain of a Wrecker and some of the stories that get passed around the Falcon's Nest by Sailors.
Yorvalor, you too remember hearing some of the stories passed around. Hearing a story of how he once jumped overboard to fight a leviathan that had almost broken free of a harpoon. The stories left out that the captain was a Loxodon, and probably used his trunk to breath while keeping the lines secure. The stories had it so he was doing it all underwater, adding to the feat. But... story and truth don't have a perfect crossover.
"A Clergyman and a entertainer. I am most humbled to be the man you turn to in this hour," Toshi gives a small nod. "I have to ask, is Nikoli in trouble? Or is it you both in trouble?"
Tharii continues to lean against the wall while he watches. His body language as difficult to read as always. "An expected surprise," he says before glancing to the door. The waitstaff bringing out a hot tea kettle and some rather lavish smelling aromas. "Is it... just the two of you?" he asks after minute. Heading over to the table and taking "And I'm sure we all have quite a bit to discuss and talk about."
Yorvalor smiles as he remember the tales that he has heard regarding "Captain Toshi". He is a Bard after all, and "tall tales" also happens to be part of his trade. "Ohh, now I remember... This humble minstrel happens to have heard of you, Captain Toshi, you are indeed of great renown." He shifts on his chair to properly address the Loxodon. "I have heard of tales that you, Sir, single handedly tamed a leviathan that was trying to make a run for it." Yorvalor raises a cup of tea to the captain. "If we have the opportunity I would love to hear the story from the legend himself." He toasts the cup in the air. (OCC: Yorvalor is being sincere here, though, he is exaggerating his enthusiasm just a little bit)
"If it wasn't for Mr. Nikoli getting us out of the Falcon just in the nick of time, we would most likely be in a very uncomfortable situation, and being interrogated for something we have no idea of. Yes, I believe that he is safe, for the Church was only looking for us." He remembers when Cade and him got out from under the street and saw the Falcon for the last time.
Hearing "Is it... Just the two of you?" from Tharii. Yorvalor comes back to the present. He slumps his shoulders, brings down his head, and sniffs a little. "Unfortunately Friend Cade stayed behind to delay the Agent, so that Brother Emund and I could escape. It is my fault really..." And just like that, the happy go spirit of Yorvalor is no longer there.

“It’s as Yorvalor tells it,” Emund says. He holds a thought for a moment, before adding, “I think it’s Nikolai and us both who are in trouble, though the rats trying to bite us are of the same swarm.”
Emund motions to one of the waitstaff to indicate he’d like a cup of whatever was in the delectable smelling kettle. He drains a small cup of water, choking on it a bit at the end.
”Before we continue, can we trust you, Toshii? We might say some things that sound crazy or blasphemous, and I would prefer not to wake up to see city guards or holy knights around the table come dinnertime.” (Insight: 13)
”Moreover, while Keegan obviously put trust in you, Tharii, as you can tell, he’s not here. I don’t know if the temptation to be able to have us help retrieve him is strong enough to not throw us to the wolves to achieve that same goal.” (Insight: 12)
Toshii chuckles a little bit as he raises his hand. "Good Father, I will admit that while I am a believer, I am not devout. My loyalty always lies with family, my business, and those loyal to me." There's a look at he glances over to the head butler. "That being said, I do return all favors for those that have helped when it was not needed." His focus shifts back to Emund and Yorvalor. "It's why you are honored guests here. It is a debt repaid. As such, please stay and feel safe. As long as you do not bring ruin upon my home or business, there should not be any problems."
His hands stroke his trunk. "And if there is, only then will I get involved." He says as he looks over to Tharii. "But, it seems you all have other things to discuss. And I do have ledgers to fill and mail to read. I will leave you all to talk. But please, eat, relax. Use my home as you need." His head gives a low nod. "I assume all parties in the room understand such a thing." He pauses and looks around, meeting everyone's eye. He's definitely serious. On all fronts. Being a host to you, but as long as he is not in direct danger. "Now. I will be in my study. I don't need to know your business. And it makes it easier if anyone ever asks."
Tharii gives out a long exhale as Toshi leaves, before turning and heading over to Emund and Yorvalor. He runs his tongue over his teeth, but under his lips. Clearly thinking on how to respond to Emund for a second. "I won't throw you to the wolves to save him. I feel like there are bigger goals for us all to accomplish together." Tharii, as usual, is difficult to get a read on.
Yorvalor wipes away a tear, and looks at Tharii. "You have been very cryptic since we first met. Would you be able to speak in plain Common, so it's easier for someone like me to grasp?" He tries to eat whatever is served in front of him. "Do you mean that we will be actually working together?"

"I'm results driven," he says as he looks over to Yorvalor. "So why would I throw you to the wolves? Clearly there's something you all need, or want. There are things I want." His fingers begin to wrap on the table-top a bit. "So let's just say that... working together is in both of our best interests. You all have been accused or murdering quite a few people according to some rumors. At least according to someone named Masus. Runs a orphanage. Happens to be a gamblers den during the night though... perhaps you've heard of him."
Tharii maintains a straight face while telling you this. His eyes bouncing between the two at the table. "He's connected to these Faith Agents running around. And I don't entirely know why. I'd dying to figure that part out. Perhaps you find out, and I can make sure this mishap gets taken care of. Pull some strings, clear some names."
"I would say that he answers to the Faith's Agents." Yorvalor thinks about what he saw in Masus' office. "We did meet this Masus fellow, but I missed most of the conversation. The only thing that I saw is that there is a bookshelf in his office that works like a false door to a passageway. I was looking out of the window from his office, and from the corner of my eyes, I noticed that behind the bookshelf there was a figure. It was dark, so I was not able to make out a face, but I did noticed that the person was wearing a tabard with the Faith's symbol. The figure was clearly surprised that I noticed him, I believe it was a male, and I noticed a white blade, in part of a X formation. The figure disappeared into the darkness when he noticed me staring at him. Then we were escorted out of his office. That' is all that I know." Yorvalor hopes that Tharii may be able to help them reunite with Cade and Keegan.

"Funnily enough, I was thinking you'd join us," Emund says firmly (Intimidate: 22). Tharii had been at the root of their interaction with Masus; he knew about the coming shakedown, and the retaliation. High time he was involved clearly, Emund thinks to himself.
"That same sect of knight," Emund beings, drawing with a finger the crossed swords on his chest, "is the same sect that attempted to arrest–or kill– us last night. The very same that might hold Keegan and Cade now." He rolls his teacup around, keeping the liquid edge just at the lip as he rolls the cup. "How likely is it that Masus's comment about having attempted to become a priest is related to this? Either way, I'm sure there's a way we can catch Masus in the very web meant for us."

"Well, it sounds like you have a good idea of where to start. A secret door. A known connection. I'd say you should rest up and get on your way to get to the bottom of it," Tharii quickly replies. "I'd be careful though. He may be a bit on guard."

Getting a cue from Emund. "Brother Emund is right. It's kind of hard for just a Priest and an Entertainer to do what you are asking of us. We definitely could use some help. We would love to find out what happened to our friends, but it's kind of hard to do that on own." (Persuasion: 18)

Tharii lets out a sigh mixed with a throat clearing growl. "I don't know if I can join you on this. But, you're right." There's a long pause. His fingers tapping on the door. "I've got some matters to take care of. Between finding Keegan and Cade, and a few other details."
His fingers tap on the table a few more times. His eyes darting back and forth like he was reading a piece of paper. A soft humming escaping. "I might know a guy or two," he said as the humming stopped. "People I use or owe me a favor. Little bit of the rougher types. It would take me a few hours." he stops and looks over to the door. "Or a day."
